Bell Custom 500 RSD Check It Helmet
Not too wild about it.
I bought this helmet to provide something quick, easy, and cool for zipping around town. It sat too low and interfered with my glasses, so first thing I added was a cloth under the liner to lift it. It still somehow manages to interfere a little and isnt really comfortable. I am hopeful it will loosen a bit with more use. I have mixed feelings. It looks ok, serves the purpose, but the fit just isn't good. If there were other options without shipping my now used Bell back to Revzilla I would sure consider it. My other two helmets are Shoei, and if they had a quickie open helmet I would have bought that instead. Perhaps I expected too much or maybe I just got too little.

Good quality construction
I can't complain about this helmet much. I wanted a 3/4 helmet that wasn't too big. This fit the 3/4 style I wanted, but I don't agree with them saying that it has a low profile. The helmet does reduce wind noise which was a goal with my helmet selection. I don't think it would be a great summer time helmet, but it's a great choice for cooler weather temps like we have here in Washington

Great overall helmet
I've only used this helmet twice and have already fallen in love with it. Bell and RSD did a great job designing this for both fit and aesthetics. With the goggles it loses a little peripheral vision, but with my clear lens old school "Johnny Cage" style Oakley glasses I don't have the same issue. I have also not had the problem that others talked about with having too much pressure on the cheeks when wearing other than flat temple/ear pieces. My Oakley glasses are anything but flat and I don't have any issue (but I do have a slim head). I only rated the "Protection/Durability" review a 3 as I have no idea how it will hold up in a fall (and hope to never find out).

Really cool retro, and some honest criticism
This is a great retro paint job. The paint itself is top notch and beautiful. Obviously a open face helmet, which lends to being noisy, weight is okay, and vision is great, nothing there to block your vision. Bell helmets run small, I've worn almost exclusively Aria helmets, and all have been extra large. I ordered a extra large in this helmet, but returned it for the 2XL. My hat size is approximately 7 1/2. Overall though, it is a really cool helmet and have had several comments on it already. It's definitely not a helmet I would take a trip in, full face for that, but cruising around town or a short trip to the store I usually reach for the Bell. One last thing, I got the bubble shield for it and when it's installed glasses are a bit of a hassle to get on. Looking to get some retro prescription googles in the future.

Comfortable. Excellent product for the price.
Fits great. Does not move around on your head in the wind. Definitely recommended.

Overall a great helmet for the value, fit is tight on me but comfortable to wear. Had to change shades for comfort.

I probably should have bought the medium but when I tried it on in a store it was waaaaaaaay too tight. So while the fit of the Large loosened a tiny bit after a few wears, I'm still happy with this helmet.
