Bell Custom 500 RSD Check It Helmet
Great style...lousy fit
Waste of money...the style was great...but the fit was horrible...love to have my money back on this one. I own several Bell helmets and they all fit great...this one did not.

It draw people's attention a lot. Checker style quite matches to my old schooled bike. Well done

Great looking helmet but....
Clearly, you're going to have wear glasses or goggles with this helmet because the snap on visorsits pretty high above your chin and creates an edie behind it that you'll need to keep from blasting your eyeballs. Now the trick is getting the glasses on with the visor on, because the visor snaps on - preferable to do once the helmet is on unless you have a mirror to align snaps. It's also hard to take the visor off since the snaps are super tight. So it's a conundrum that I still struggle with. To boot, glasses can't have thick arms because the hard foam liner blocks the arms from being inserted into the helmet and behind your ear, so you have to stretch the helmet cheeks open and put the helmet on carefully while your glasses are on your face. Then hope that the helmet doesn't drag your glasses down over your ears and force you to start all over again. Or you can just wear your aviator glasses with skinny metal arms and put them on after the helmet - but please don't wear glass lenses (like Raybans)! Oy. The stupid things we do for fashion! Strap is too long so you HAVE to snap it or it'll flap all over your face and helmet. Other than these practical issues, it's a very cool looking helmet and better made than all the other low cost open face helmets. The best thing for this helmet is to avoid the visor and get some cool looking goggles that strap on over the helmet. And if you wear Rx glasses like me, just deal with it!

All Bell Helmets are perfect.
All Bell Helmets are perfect. I have three Bell Helmets and I am very happy with them.
2. I buy things shipped to Miami, but I live in Montevideo, Uruguay - South America.

The pictures on the website do not do the real thing justice. The graphics are great and finish is even better.

Great for a fun helmet...
This helmet has been great. Lots of fun to wear. The field of view is unlimited, you don't even know you have a helmet on. Rides nice and low on the brow and the ear cups do a nice job blocking noise. I don't notice any abnormal wind noise and the exhaust on my bike is quieter than my full face Arai helmet. The paint is outstanding and the copper color trim is sharp looking. Very well designed helmet.
My only complaint is the chin strap is of poor quality. Thin and flimsy with cheap feeling padding. The design of the D-Rings is not acceptable for easy use. The outer D-Ring will get flipped over and stuck under the padding. You just think you're loosing your mind when you can't find it and then have to dig it out of the padding. The D-Rings are just cheap and flimsy. Maybe I'm picky coming from an Arai, but they should beef up the chin strap and replace the D-Rings with something more stout.

Cool and classic
Let's start with sizing, might be my head shape but I think these tend to run smaller than stated. The fine folks at Revzilla swapped me out a size just in time for the DGR, after what should have been my fit (according to Bell) was way too small.
Noise and protection marks given are based on an open face helmet and though they score low for obvious reasons, overall I'd highly recommend this helmet for city riding and rolling at low speeds on your classic bike or scooter.
I rode the 2014 Portland DGR which was an all day affair and the helmet was very comfortable throughout the day. Toward the end of day it felt a bit snug in the forehead area but nothing unbearable.
Thanks to the Revzilla team for getting me set up nice job!

Stylish Open Face Helmet
I recently purchased the Bell Custom 500 RSD Check It helmet and immediately put it to good use during the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride. If you're looking for a no frills, retro helmet, then this one will fit the bill. Of course, you'll sacrifice some melon protection for the retro look, but you'll make it up in comfort, style, and a wide field of view. According to the size chart, my measurement of 23'' put me in a large, but I found that it was slightly big, so I exchanged it for a medium.
