Good classic helmet
It's a simple 3/4 helmet. It's loud, the wind will beat up your face, annnnddd that's about it.

Great helmet!
Revzilla is a great place to purchase from. Great on returns, with no hassles. The Bell 500 looks great and is very light. I purchased for my brothers birthday, but it did not fit. I had no problems calling revzilla and reutning it.

The accessory for the Custom 500
What is there to say about this visor. There isn't much to it. It has saved my face a few times since I started riding with it. It covers down to approx. my upper lip, which is decent. It tilts to aid in helmet removal or adjustment if you prefer not to have the visor to close to your face while riding. It is most definitely stable at speed and the head checks on the highway don't faze it one bit.
Very good bang for the buck and a few shades to choose from. Oh and I can most definitely fit a pair of Ray Ban Wayfarer with the shield as close to the face as possible so no worries there if anyone is concerned.

Buy it for the looks, not the comfort.
I got this helmet for the looks. It looks cool with a gradient shield. The helmet is not uncomfortable but it's not that comfortable either with the hard foam and thin lining.
With the shield it can get a little warm and if you are getting a gradient shield for blocking the sun from your eyes, don't bother. The gradient ends too high up on the shield to effectively block the sun from your eyes, though it looks cool.
I usually wear a large but got a X-large because I have an oval head and wanted the helmet to sit lower on my head, even with the risk of having a gap between my cheeks and the helmet. It wound up fitting ok because I have thick jaws.
It's a helmet I can appreciate more when it's in front of me than when it's on my head though it should do the job in a crash.

Great Helmet
The helmet looks great fits great, specially with sun glasses where some press the arms of the glasses into your temples this one doesn't. Up to 35 mph there is minimal noise, after that it is pretty loud, and the helmet will lift off a small amount when at highway speeds. I expected that with a throwback style helmet.
All in all very happy with this product.

great shield for the money
I bought this to snap on to my Bell Custom 500 helmet. Its fits securely and visibility is great. I will Definitely buy the smoke shield soon.

Just wanted to see if the shield was actually more of a bubble shape, compared to what i have seen elsewhere, or is it more oval across the face. The pictures you have look like the shield has no bubble shape at all which is what i would prefer. Thanks for the help.

postiemamma7,I am from Melbourne, my friends and I have bought ALL of our gear from RevZilla, including helmets.
The U.S 'Dot' rating is not approved here so "legally" you shouldn't use one. On the other hand I have never heard of anyone being caught and if it is safety you are worried about, I figure if a product passes American standards then it will pass (or close enough to) Aus. standards. I have bought a Bell Revolver, Modular helmet and it looks sturdy enough to me :-)
