Flat black meets Malibu Canyon meets cafe racer, the Bell Custom 500 Hellfire is a flat-black homage to the historic West Coast club. The Bell Custom 500 features an open face design, fiberglass chassis and a mix of quality finishing touches. The Custom 500 Helmet uses modern protective technology to bring the design up-to-date but manages to keep the original flavor. A new EPS foam layer allows Bell engineers to craft a helmet that is at once light weight, narrow in profile, and DOT-compliant. Custom paint-inspired graphics, chrome trim work and a quilted liner round out the lid.

At first I was like... But then I was like... So when I unpackaged this helmet I thought this thing looked pretty sweet! I put the helmet on and it felt really comfortable. So I took it for a quick ride and once I hit the highway the helmet started to lift off my head. No bueno! I was worried I had got a helmet size to big. My next trip I put on a bandana underneath and just wearing that stopped helmet lift. Now this is my favorite! Super light, great style and super comfortable. Way to go Bell and way to go Revzilla for getting me this helmet so fast! I still can't believe how fast your shipping is! And it's free! October 14, 2012
Great helmet - simple, comfortable and very retro! The fit on this helmet was perfect based on the provided size chart. The helmet looks great. Low profile is in the eye of the beholder - to me it is low profile around the face cutout/ears and lower back. There is a lot more foam at the top, which lends a bit of an egg shape, but it really isn't that noticeable. Very retro with a nice flat finish. Well constructed. Chin strap is fairly average: strap, d-rings, snap so you aren't getting slapped by the extra strap material. May 15, 2012
Cool vintage style After reading dozens of mixed reviews, I decided to go for it and hope for the best. I was pleasantly surprised. I have a 23 1/4 head and the large fit me snug. Perfect fit if you asked me. Strapped down tight but comfortably I didn't have the floating helmet during my first ride. Even at speed of 70+ mph. The padding on the inside is a little hard, but I'm sure it'll break in soon. Not uncomfortable tho. Styling is nice. I love the chrome trim and the "hellfire" graphic. Adds a subtle flare to it. (no pun intended) It does have some wind noise but not too much. I also purchased the clear snap on shield and it helped a lot on the freeway. Very pleased with this helmet. March 15, 2012
