Great classic helmet
I have three different brand open face helmets and this by far is the best. A bubble shield makes it one of the best helmets at high speeds available. Living in Florida in the summer would lead you to expect it to be hot inside the helmet but surprisingly it wasn't.
I wish the inside could be removed so it could be washed.

Not a good fit
First let me say that Revzilla has the best customer service and shipping that never fails to amaze me. I ordered the helmet on the Thursday before Father's Day and it arrived, that Saturday, coming all the way from California to Maryland. Very impressive. The fit was way too snug and I ordered a size larger than I normally wear. The design put the bridge of the helmet right on my brow pushing hard on my riding glasses (50's style eyeglass frame). The outside temperatures was in the upper 70's and the helmet made it feel like a 100 degrees. The advertising promised the smallest low profile look and my old Bell Mag 9 helmet looks smaller on my head and is way more comfortable. Perhaps if I would have ordered a large or extra large The Bell Custom 500 RSD may not have felt like a vise on my head, however it still would have been uncommonly warm inside this helmet that has no air flow ports and it probably would have looked like a helmet from the Spacballs movie on my head since the shell gets larger with each size up. Lastly the artwork looked like a Zipatone decal, not very classy. I returned the helmet and Revzilla gave me practically a full refund within two days. Thanks Revzilla, your customer service is outstanding and worth bragging about.

Size was spot on after measurements as instructed on line. Comfortable. Low profile. No drag in the wind...my previous helmet made my neck tired after riding at highway speed. It felt a bit snug at first but after several rides it feels perfect...actually I think I wasn't used to having my ears covered. I am very happy with my purchase.

I Love My Helmet!
I've been using my helmet for a couple of weeks now and I love it. The fit is great and it is very comfortable. Wonderful retro look.

42 years of riding and I say the Bell 500 is the best.
Bell got it right- from the start. My first helmet was an open face Bell in 1974. I still use a Bell to this day. I use it not because I am into "retro" or as a fashion statement - I use it as its basic and solid. The 500 is the classic - anything else is just foo-foo & fluff. Its uncomplicated, its reliable, it fits and it will keep your skull in one big piece in the "bad thing" happens.
I appreciate that there are snaps for a visor - being a Vintage Rider myself, I still like to wear a short visor and goggles. Moreover, there are snaps for a face shield - for me, this is a good cold weather alternative. I will never put on one of those silly face masks and I will not stick my head in one of those full face buckets...as the reduced field of view is more likely to cause an accident.
Bell Helmets are priced sensibly. I paid $75 for my open face Bell in 1974 and the last Bell I bought was only $85. My new 500 will only be $119. At that price, I don't get freaked out when it gets scratched or banged up from normal use.

Great helmet so far, but after coming home from my maiden ride with it, the roommate asked why I had red lines on my head. It took me a second to realize what they were from... I wear my hair really short on the sides (#2 buzz), and the read stitching actually left red lines in my hair and on my head. LOL. Not a huge deal, as they came off with a small quick splash of water and a towel, but still funny either way. I guess I'll have to look into trying to wash down the liner a little bit, bring some of the dye out of the treads. Bell may want to look into that themselves before sending it to the customer.
I wish I'd taken a picture.

An exceptional value - Fast shipping
My old helmet never fit properly so I decided to reokace it with Bell Custom 500 for its retro appearance and its ECE approval. Another reviewer mentioned that Bell sizes tend to run a bit small, but a friend said they run true. As my head measurement was between Med and Lg, I called a Revzilla rep and after I answered his questions, he recommended a large. Upon its arrival I tried it on and found that his advice was absolutely perfect. It fits comfortably snugly but is not tight or oppressive. My satisfaction with the Bell helmet is exceeded only by the professionalism of Revzilla.
