Bell Bullitt Retro Helmet
Style and Comfort
This helmet is exactly what i was looking for. It is stylish without sacrificing comfort and safety. I got this helmet in grey with the clear bubble visor and the visibility when the helmet is on is incredible. There visor has a very smooth adjustment and hold depending on if you want it up or down. The price point is a little higher than some helmet with similar styling such as the gringo, but you definitely notice the difference.

Great option for cruiser riders wanting a full face helmet
The Bell Bullitt Retro helmet is a very comfortable and light helmet. I was looking for a quality replacement full face helmet that would look good when riding a cruiser. This helmet has the looks and safety I was looking for.
When riding at lower speeds the helmet performed great and noise is not an issue. The air flows mostly from the chin bar area hitting mostly towards the front and keeps the helmet cool in hot weather. The front chin bar vent does bring in more air but you will still get a lot of air under the helmet with it closed as well. You would definitely need a balaclava or neck warmer in the winter. I am not sure the top vents flow that much air, but seems to be enough since I stayed comfortable in the high 80's. My previous helmet was an Icon Armada and I could actually feel the air flow over the top of my head. At highway speed there is a lot of buffeting and I am guessing that is due to the shape of this helmet. The wind noise is also more substantial than my Icon Armada. You will definitely want to wear air plugs when riding at speeds over 50 mph.
I purchased the grey Bullitt Retro with the bubble shield and the view out of it is amazing. It is almost like having an open face helmet on. The one concern I have is how close the chin protector is to your face. Other full face helmets have the chin protector placed further away. It is quite possible that in a crash that it could come in contact with your chin depending on the severity and angle of the impact. Still it is better than not having any protection at all.
The interior of the helmet is comfortable but not perfect. The material used for the liner has the feeling of suede and is soft and comfortable. The imperfect aspect is depending on how the helmet is placed it can cause some pressure at the corners. I realized that it has to be positioned correctly to feel comfortable. The face shield is very easy to bring up and down. Since the Bullitt uses a magnetic lock instead of a pin it is much easier to operate.
I know there are better full face helmets out there at this price but they don't offer the style that this helmet provides. I would recommend this helmet for its combination of safety and style.

Great helmet, but...
I own the Bullitt helmet and its "sister" model, an open face Bell RSD edition. The Bullitt is comfortable, though a little noisy. It looks great, and visibility is the best.
The problem with both helmets are the liners. Yes, they are comfortable and look great. But the cool-looking stitching leaves a forehead mark like I've never had in years of owning more traditional helmets. Not a big deal, but be prepared for the waitress to look at you funny when you first sit down to order.

Classic style without sacrificing safety or comfort.
This is a great city helmet. It has a classic style that looks good with street clothes. It has unparalleled field of vision to help spot the many unexpected hazards I face in NYC traffic. It fits well and feels sturdy and well built. The opening under the chin makes the chin vent superfluous and prevents fogging.
The fit and features don't quite match the levels of refinement of my Shoei, but the Bullitt isn't far off, and unlike the Shoei comes in colors and designs I enjoy looking at.

Love the fit and retro look.
This helmet fits well and has great vision. The retro look is nice, but knowing it has all the protection that today's best helmets provide.

Great Helmet and It Keeps Getting Better
I bought the Bell Bullitt Retro Helmet primarily for style but without wanting to sacrifice protection. It has exceeded my expectations in both looks and comfort.
The leather padding is at another level from any other helmet I've owned or even tried on. I currently own six helmets including a Bell RS-1 and Bell Vortex. In terms of comfort, the Bullitt beats them all once you get it on. Initially putting the helmet on, however, can and does do a number on my ears which, I believe, are not exceptionally large or protruding. I attribute this to the leather neck roll which is stiffer than the fabric neck rolls found on other helmets. Still, once in place (and your ears are righted#, it is incredibly comfortable.
The field of view is tremendous. I read about it before buying the helmet but it was beyond what I expected. And, something I really appreciate, I'm able to comfortably wear sunglasses or eyeglasses underneath the shield. It would have been nice to have a quick release mechanism to make shield changes easier but I can live with it. I purchased a dark smoke shield but may just stick with sunglasses underneath the clear shield, especially with it getting dark so early in the winter.
The vent in the chin bar seems more for looks than functionality. Without a neck curtain and with the shape of the helmet, plenty of air makes it way underneath and up into the helmet. With that said, I have not experienced any lifting of the helmet despite riding during a high wind advisory. If there is airflow from the vents across the brow, it is minimal. I really couldn't feel it. I suppose I just have to wait until summer before learning just how hot this helmet will get. For now, it feels good.
Other than the discomfort to my ears when donning and doffing the helmet, something that seems to be getting better, and the lack of a quick release shield, the only other drawback I've experienced is a very pronounced imprint left across my forehead after a ride! After my first ride with the helmet which lasted a few hours, the imprint across my forehead lasted for several hours. Not cool and quite embarrassing. It was surprising too because I never felt any pressure or discomfort during the ride. In fact, I couldn't get over how amazing the helmet felt. The imprints across my forehead seem to be diminishing in severity and duration. I'm hoping that as the helmet continues to break-in, it will stop completely.
So, not perfect. But great. And it keeps getting better.
I ride a 2014 CB1100 and 2007 VFR800 - Not that it really matters but I like to see what other reviewers are riding and figure others might feel the same.

Love the style and function
Love the paint the subtle flake is a nice touch. Fit is true to the size chart. Breathes well doesn't get too hot or too cold while riding. Visibility with the bubble shield is fantastic. I was debating on buying this or the gringo. Ultimately ended up buying the Bullit because of the ECE certification, the visor and the added features.
