Bell Bullitt Retro Helmet

In the late 1960’s Bell released the Star, the first full-face helmet, revolutionizing the helmet and motorsport industries and setting a new standard for safety. Since then Motorcycle helmets have taken all sorts of shapes and forms, but at its essence has always been the simple and classic Star. The inherent beauty in the Star’s simplicity has made it an effective and aesthetically appealing piece of motorcycle gear that has survived the test of time.

To pay homage to the glory days of motorsport, the Bell Bullitt inherits classic Star styling yet is infused with contemporary comforts and safety. Constructed with a low-profile fiber composite shell and multi-density EPS liner, the Bullitt meets modern DOT regulations yet comes as close as possible to the look and feel of the original Star. Luxurious appointments like micro-suede lining with leather trim, metal mesh circular intake vents with a rear exhaust vent and 3D cut cheek pads with speaker pockets compliment the vintage styling and push the Bullitt into the 21st century.

Named after the brash detective played by iconic actor and motorsport enthusiast Steve McQueen in the cult classic Bullitt, the Bell Bullitt is as much an exercise in design as it is in rider safety, breaking the mold and providing a premium retro option to the market. Put that vintage helmet back on the shelf where it belongs and pick up a Bullitt to fulfill all your retro riding dreams.

Note: The Bullitt has a very round internal shape. It is ideal for people who need more ear and temple room but conversely it is less suitable for people who need more room in the forehead area.

Loved it Excelente Helmet, even better than I was expecting. Exceptionally comfortable and stylish. August 9, 2016
Beautiful Helmet These helmets are pure quality.... and that is what you are paying for. Great old school look, great fitment, and great overall quality July 19, 2016
Style at a cost Super stylish, well made and nicely trimmed out. Air flow isn't awesome, but that's to be expected - you gotta give something up for the old school styling. August 9, 2016
Poor quality. Warranty, what warranty? The snapping button holding the strap fell off only a few weeks after purchase. Revzilla says they don't care, warranty is handled directly by Bell. Bell doesn't even answer, safe for an auto-responder that gives an address where I *could* send it back without any reference and knowing if they'll do something. First Bell helmet. Last Bell helmet. Stylish, minimalist, and pricey You will look like the bee's knees with this helmet. It is simple and elegant looking. It is also rather pricey for what you get. The interior is lined with microfiber and leather and is aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. That being said, the features are fairly basic for the price. There is a switchable vent system near the mouth, and a forehead vent system that is always open, which is annoying when the weather is cold. The helmet is loud for a full face. There are Bluetooth slots for the headphones, but you have to glue on the communicator mount rather than screw it in. The padding on the cheeks does not go as far forward as I am used to. No chin-bar. If you are looking for a stylish and more protective alternative to half and three-quarter helmets, you can't go wrong with the Bullit. You can look extra fly around town and take it for a long-distance weekend trip in a pinch. You can, however, find other full-face helmets with much better comfort, ventilation, and noise reduction/aerodynamic features at this price point. There are also some cheaper, basic, classic options available. August 3, 2016
Great style, poor fit I bought this helmet for a cross-country moto trip as a good style-meets-functionality solution (was looking at some Simpsons, but I think they make me look like a stormtrooper or darth vader). I love the classic style of this helmet, great lines and color combos. The vents and visor are great but the fit was awful for my head shape. I first purchased the small per the sizing chart (my head is a 54cm), but putting it on and taking it off felt like I was being reborn-SO TIGHT ALL OVER, especially in my temples-and I worried it would give me a headache on our long trip. So I sized up to a Medium, and it was like a bobble-head helmet, sliding everywhere. The padding is really firm and so breaking in the small wasn't an option. Unfortunately, I will be sending both sizes back. My boyfriend has the same helmet and it fits him very well, so this is probably just a poor head-shape to helmet-shape match for me. July 30, 2016
O, the compromises of high fashion! Style: Bought this helmet to pose while riding my '83 BMW airhead and it certainly looks the part! The white paint has a slight metallic sparkle in it, while all the stripes are decals. The stripe decals appear to be laid in 3 sections, with 2 areas of overlap to make the appearance of a solid line. On the thin, black pinstripe, both overlapping points don't line up exactly and TBH looks a bit cheesy when you see it from 2 feet away, standing still. Will anybody notice while you ride or standing further than a few ft from you? no.... Comfort: Liner is comfy, not spectacular, but should be good for a few hours. I'll find out this wknd! Feels lighter than the actual weight suggests, guess the weight well-balanced in that regard. Noise: it's quite noisy and so far I've only ridden in city limits. At just 25mph, there is quite a roar behind a faired bike (TBD on naked bike). When I tilt my head anywhere near the 3/4 tuck/race position the rear spoiler/venturi howls LOUDLY, confirmed by covering it with my hand. If I glance down at my speedo it does a bit of the same, reduced actually if I wear the helmet rotated a tad up vs having the top of the view port touching the top of my eyebrows. Features: The magnetic visor tab is pretty trick and works well. I wish the lined portion of the chin strap was longer to cover more of the nylon. Neither the bubble visor or flat shield really touch the visor gasket, so I anticipate this to be a dry weather lid (always open vents are another reason obviously). Visors are thick and I don't see any distortion with either bubble or flat. The field of vision is HUGE and a very pleasant experience. I only see the chin bar a little but no other part of the helmet when wearing it. Kinda cool there are pockets sown into the ear area to accept intercom speakers (I assume), BUT my Sena SMH10 cannot be used because there's no gap between the shell and helmet EPS to slip the mount into and secure it to the helmet... Bottom line: IMO it's got style that really stands out nicely. I think the price is worth it for style, but you ARE losing a lot of features and performance that modern styled helmets have evolved to do oh-so-well July 1, 2016
Great looking helmet I bought this beauty to replace my scorpion helmet. I went to a classic look and a bit more airflow. The Bell helmet has kept me fresh with a good airflow. I also like the style of the face shield which provides me with peripheral vision that most other helmets just don't have. Highly recommended if you are looking for a summer, stylish low key helmet. I broke Anthony's "rule" and I attached a Sena 10R. Easy set up and installation. Although sometimes i have to fix my ear because the speakers. June 28, 2016
