Ballistic Performance 4 Cell EVO2 Battery
Not great in the cold
I've had one of these in my VFR800A for a couple of years now. I've used LiFe technology in other applications and am pretty familiar with its strengths and weaknesses, and I commute to work on my bike all year round. Very reliable battery, cells have maintained their balance, and battery provides good cranking *IF* the temperature is 50F or above. Below that, cranking power goes down quickly to the point of resetting the clock and trip odometers before the motor will start (if it starts). I've actually put a heating pad in the battery box to pre-heat it on cold days using an external USB booster, which helps a lot. I'd probably replace it with a 12-cell model next time for a little bigger capacity margin. Lead battery costs have gone up, so this is still a win in my opinion due to improved reliability and lifetime.

The battery I've been waiting for.
After much research, and because I never liked the OEM batteries on my 2009 Honda CBR1000RR, I purchased this. The original battery, as well as a replacement a few years later, always felt like the battery was weak, no matter what. I believe that Honda, in an effort to eliminated as much weight from the bike as possible, just installed a battery too small for this motorcycle. And the area allowed for it is extremely small as well. This EVO2 make a world of difference. It always starts with plenty of juice. It performs as advertised. Now, hopefully it will last a long time.

Perfect so far
I installed this just before my riding season was over so not much time to test it. It is surprisingly light. It's like it weights nothing compared to an acid battery. I left it in the bike for the winter so far and every time I tried my bike started instantly with a strong cranking. It keeps the charge even in very cold weather with no problem.

Don't buy this!!!!
Don't buy this battery OR the overpriced charger!
I bought my 8-cell in Feb of 2014. Waited for warm weather and began using it May. Last week (Nov 2014) I bought Ballistic's charger to "balance charge" the battery, removed the black BMS port cover to begin the balance charging process and discovered the port was loaded with corrosion so bad that one of the 5 pins was entirely gone. Now I'm stuck with a battery I can't properly charge and a specialized charger I don't need.
I contacted Ballistic and they are completely unwilling to replace the battery, claiming I've damaged it. I bought the charger through Schnitz Motorsports and they are also unwilling to return it because it is a used electrical item.
In summary, I'm out $300 for a battery that doesn't work in the cold like a standard lead or gel battery. It's ONLY good quality is that it is 6 or 7 pounds lighter than a standard battery. Whoopee!
Honestly, I've never dealt with a company so unwilling to stand behind their product. If I lived near their headquarters, I'd launch both the charger and battery through the front windows of their building.

Sim, eu recomendo!! Mais compacta e com maior tempo de duração! Apesar de ser menor, na própria caixa da bateria você pode utilizar o acabamento interno para compensar o tamanho da baterria que é um pouco menor!

huge difference in starting bike
Installed in a 2001 Hayabusa; installation was easy, battery is good quality. Engine cranked and started really fast. I ride most of the year in VA so ill see how it fares over the winter season. I expect alot better than my lead acid batteries in the past. Awesome product.

A battery for dedicated purposes, unreliable, expensive, necessary evil? You decide!
This is my second Ballistic.
The first one, used as a backup, started to perform badly just after two years of seeing very little action.
These batteries are small, light, pack a punch and are great as a portable spare.
The drawbacks are price, poor performance at low temperatures, and in my opinion more unpredictable and unreliable than a standard batt.
Why I insist on these? Well I like the idea, they are easy to carry on a plane, shed weight off the bike, in concept there are the path to the future.
Would I recommend them? Well, yes and no. It all depends what you want to achieve.
I did not get much after sales support when my battery started to play games.
I did not get an invoice from Revzilla either that supports my warranty.
A word of warning:
Be very meticulous in ordering the right post location for your battery as these come with Left or Right ground. If you order the wrong one you have two issues: 1. the fitting will be difficult because the posts have a L shaped plastic shield and going over those with the wires will surely break them (happened to me). Also, wrong post location may lead to connecting the battery the wrong way and frying all circuits! Yes, I did that too but since I had a ground cutoff switch I realized my mistake seconds from disaster.

no more corrosion
This battery was easy to install, just use the foam that comes in the box to fill in the additional space that will be in your battery tray. You may have a little bit of trouble making your battery leads reach the terminals, but with a bit of fancy footwork and clever thinking you should be good to go with the stock set up. I do recommend purchasing the ballistic battery quick charger set up as well, it comes in handy if your bike sits for too long. That being said, I have let mine sit for two months and it started up with no issues.
