The 4 Cell EVO2 is designed for use in multi-cylinder applications of less than 550cc and racing applications of up to 600cc where weight is the primary consideration. The 4 Cell EVO2 is also perfect for 250cc single MX bikes. A 600cc race bike uses a battery that weighs almost 8 pounds. The Ballistic Performance Components Battery 4 Cell EVO2 weighs less than a pound! That’s a 7 pound saving for less than $100! You would have to spend thousands on Titanium, Carbon Fiber and Magnesium to get that kind of weight savings. The 4 Cell model can easily start a 600cc sport bike, but we recommend them only for racing applications. If you ride your 600cc sport bike on the street, we recommend the 8 Cell model

Great lightweight battery replacement I went for the Ballistic Performance 8 cell after researching a bunch on the internets... so far so good! It's a great battery for the price - which isn't that much more than OEM. The unit itself is much smaller and lighter than stock, which is great for a sportbike (R6). Cranking power is great so far, cold or warm starts. Hopefully it lasts as advertised. September 22, 2015
Simple drop-in replacement This was my first time swapping out a lead-acid battery for a Li-ion and was very pleased. I was replacing a weak battery and this unit is about 10lbs lighter than the old one as well as being about 1/3 smaller. You may need to pack the new battery with foam or some other material to keep it from rattling around in your battery holder. September 8, 2015

Not great in the cold I've had one of these in my VFR800A for a couple of years now. I've used LiFe technology in other applications and am pretty familiar with its strengths and weaknesses, and I commute to work on my bike all year round. Very reliable battery, cells have maintained their balance, and battery provides good cranking *IF* the temperature is 50F or above. Below that, cranking power goes down quickly to the point of resetting the clock and trip odometers before the motor will start (if it starts). I've actually put a heating pad in the battery box to pre-heat it on cold days using an external USB booster, which helps a lot. I'd probably replace it with a 12-cell model next time for a little bigger capacity margin. Lead battery costs have gone up, so this is still a win in my opinion due to improved reliability and lifetime. March 12, 2015
The battery I've been waiting for. After much research, and because I never liked the OEM batteries on my 2009 Honda CBR1000RR, I purchased this. The original battery, as well as a replacement a few years later, always felt like the battery was weak, no matter what. I believe that Honda, in an effort to eliminated as much weight from the bike as possible, just installed a battery too small for this motorcycle. And the area allowed for it is extremely small as well. This EVO2 make a world of difference. It always starts with plenty of juice. It performs as advertised. Now, hopefully it will last a long time. February 22, 2015
Perfect so far I installed this just before my riding season was over so not much time to test it. It is surprisingly light. It's like it weights nothing compared to an acid battery. I left it in the bike for the winter so far and every time I tried my bike started instantly with a strong cranking. It keeps the charge even in very cold weather with no problem. February 17, 2015
Don't buy this!!!! Don't buy this battery OR the overpriced charger! I bought my 8-cell in Feb of 2014. Waited for warm weather and began using it May. Last week (Nov 2014) I bought Ballistic's charger to "balance charge" the battery, removed the black BMS port cover to begin the balance charging process and discovered the port was loaded with corrosion so bad that one of the 5 pins was entirely gone. Now I'm stuck with a battery I can't properly charge and a specialized charger I don't need. I contacted Ballistic and they are completely unwilling to replace the battery, claiming I've damaged it. I bought the charger through Schnitz Motorsports and they are also unwilling to return it because it is a used electrical item. In summary, I'm out $300 for a battery that doesn't work in the cold like a standard lead or gel battery. It's ONLY good quality is that it is 6 or 7 pounds lighter than a standard battery. Whoopee! Honestly, I've never dealt with a company so unwilling to stand behind their product. If I lived near their headquarters, I'd launch both the charger and battery through the front windows of their building. November 25, 2014
