Makes my XD4 Fit Perfect
This product really saved me from having to buy a new helmet. I measured my head and bought the suggested helmet size. When I got the helmet, it was a little tight so I proceeded to remove the customizing padding. The helmet then felt fine until wearing it for 6 straight hours. I started to notice it was tight up front and in the back and gave me a headache. I was well past the point of being able to return it.
I bought the 5mm comfort liner and my helmet now fits perfect without any further foam customizing.

my xd4 fit on the loose side, so I ordered this thicker liner and cheek pads to make the fit more secure. I ordered a size med helmet when I should've ordered a small. The pads and liner were all that was necessary for a correct fit. The sizing chart was helpful

Replacement liner to tailor the fit of my new XD4
Original equipment Arai liner. I wasn't completely happy with the fit of my new XD4 so I ordered a replacement liner to tailor it to my preference. The Revzilla price was better than the Arai website, shipping was less and it arrived very quickly. I now order genuine Arai from Revzilla rather than direct from AraiAmerica.

Good for customizing fit
This thinner liner is great for fine tuning the fit of the XD4. After going from the stock 5mm liner to this thinner 3mm liner in my size Large helmet, my helmet is much more comfortable on long days.

Nice to have spares!
Multi day trips in hot climates are made better when you can swap out the liner and cheek pads at the end of the day! Just put in a fresh set, wash out the stinky set, air dry over night and you back in business.

Russell B: I bought an XD4, but am having trouble fitting it correctly. Large was very clearly too small, but XL isn't snug enough. Ordered the thicker cheek pads, too. Refer to the Arai website to see what thickness of these two items comes originally in your helmet, and to see the options, and to get the right replacement liners and cheek pads. (Liners are numbered, and don't all fit the same sized helmets,)Jun 9, 2014
Rob R: I Like having an additional liner to swap out on longer multi-day rides. At the end of the day, just pull out old stinky, sweaty liner and swap in the fresh set and your ready for a new day of adventure!Apr 27, 2014
Paul M: The XD4 is not quite as long front to back as I need. I'm hoping the optional 5MM comfort liner will get me there.Apr 5, 2014

Brian D asked:Hi there, I need a long oval shape. Will the thinner (5mm in my case - 7mm is standard w/ the helmet) comfort liner help with the forehead area or is the 2mm thinner area only on the sides of the head? Or is the forehead panel thinner than standard as well?Sep 17, 2015
Brian D:I'll answer since nobody did (accurately). Yes, the thinner liner is indeed thinner in the forehead (and rear) areas. In fact, this is where the most measurable difference is. I measured (with calipers) the uncompressed thickness of the forehead area to be the following: ~5mm for the 5mm pad ~8.5-9mm for the 7mm pad
The upper side areas differed by about 2-3 mm and the rear area is thinner as well (similar to the forehead).
So, for you long-oval shapes, like me, the smaller (thinner - i.e. looser fit) liner does seem to help a bit with forehead pressure given this intermediate oval shape with the XD-4. I'm hoping it's enough...
If they'd just make an XD-4 in long oval we LOs wouldn't need to spend an additional $42 on a liner that doesn't really solve the core issue though.Sep 21, 2015
Richard G:The thinner liner will definitely help with issues in the forehead area. I had pain at the top of my forehead as well as a red "indent" whenever I wore my helmet for any length of time. Bought the 5mm size and the problem has disappeared.Sep 20, 2015
