Arai Defiant Character Helmet - (Size 2XL Only)
Good but not great
Helmet is noisy and doesn't cover the entire chin. Comfort is good and protection I can't say as I haven't had to use that. But from what i read its great protection. It also leaves a slight mark on my right chin not sure if the padding is un-even.
This is a good helmet but for the price I think one can do better. I will certainly look for something quieter, and lighter in future.
The quality of materials is good and construction is solid.

This is the first "Premium" helmet I've owned.
The fit is perfect for my head shape, it's comfortable, durable, and truly a premium product.
The vents and face shield mechanisms are rugged and well built, very unlikely to break under heavy / frequent use.
I really like ARAI's system for removing the face shield as well, it can take a little practice, but RevZilla has a video for that. :)
I highly recommend buying a tinted face shield, really gives the helmet an aggressive look. Only thing I don't like is the noise, it's louder than other helmets I've owned.
Pros: Fit, Comfort, Durability, Quality, Style
Cons: Loud, very loud.
I'll only buy ARAI from now on, and I'd recommend this product to anyone.

Beautiful helmet, does everything I want in a helmet
Great airflow, fits my head perfectly. Just loud but I'm totally fine with that for all the airflow.

Love this helmet
Having owned 4 other Arais over the years, this is another winner. Extraordinary fit for my intermediate oval head. 1 year and almost 9K miles, this is my new favorite helmet. Flows air like nobody's business. Great chin vent in particular. Visor secures 100% waterproof, no leaks in several heavy rain rides. Pinlock being included was a nice perk and helps keep fogging to a minimum. Awesome 5 star helmet.
Wish Arai offered a photochromatic visor.

Great Helmet! Great service!
This Helmet is Great! But the best part of this buying experience has been Revzilla. The helmet is an Arai and is a huge up grade for me both in fit and function over the Bell I had. The venting is incredible moving so much more air than I ever expected. The pro shade system works great too but I've already ordered a longer visor. The stock one seems too short. As for Revzilla, I ordered the wrong size helmet (my head is on the line between MD/LG) and had to return the MD. The speed and ease in which they handled my return was amazing. I reordered the right size and was off and riding in a few days!

1 week use of the Arai Asteroid (Green version)
Summer time desperation buy due to emergency need for a new helmet.
As far as looks, mostly positive feedback from other riders and the general public. No negatives expressed so far.
The green is more of a neon, so it doesn't really match Kawasaki green 100% up close anyway.
1. Reduced fog compared to non-pinlock helmets (not 100% but 95% I'd estimate and any fog buildup eventually disappears)
2. Good peripheral view (better than it's competitors in the same price range - sale price)
3. Very comfortable fit - for a medium, intermediate oval which I wear in other similarly priced brands.
1. LOUD - it's definitely louder than other brands, including my older RF-1000 (Jay Leno probably loves this kind of road noise but I prefer hearing music)
2. The visor lock is a pain, trying to unlatch it with summer weight gloves is a near impossible task
3. I ride vintage bikes & sport bikes. This helmet is not great in the full tuck position, so Revzilla's Youtube review is spot on - full upright to 3/4 tuck is what it can do.
I've bought 3 Revzilla reviewed products this year and Revzilla has been 95% spot on in their reviews so far.

It's hard buying helmets online.
I got this helmet because of aria helmets good reputation. Unfortunately the helmet does not fit me as well as I expected. I purchase this helmet under the sizing guidelines and while standing still in my house it fits me perfectly, but when I'm out on my bike I get a severe tension headache. By the time I was aware of this issue it was too late to return the helmet. Now I have a $600 helmet that I've worn three times, sitting in the box and I'm not allowed to refund it due to RevZilla's return policy. I was advised to sell locally by the geek I spoke with.

Great Helmet- but Pro Cruise not so much
I have now put over 1000 miles on this helmet and must say the Arai Defiant (I'll talk about the Pro Cruise system below) is amazingly comfortable and extremely well built. It has great airflow which helps with 80+ degree weather in the summer, but doesn't suffer from excessive fogging or air leakage when you close the vents during sub-40 degree riding in the winter.
I have two minor gripes with the helmet itself- 1) the integrated chin curtain is a bit small and doesn't block as much air as I'd like. 2) the visor locking mechanism is extremely difficult to use, especially with gloves on.
As for the Pro Cruise system- I don't think it is a worthwhile accessory. When it's down it doesn't quite come down far enough- especially on the sides- to truly block all the light you'd like it to. And when it's up, boy is it annoying! It doesn't upset the helmet terribly, but it does act as a bit of a sail on top of the helmet, and it DEFINITELY makes the helmet LOUDER up or down. I could see it working fine for someone who's entire commute take place at <30 mph. I've ended up replacing the Pro Cruise system and the included clear face shield with a mirrored one from Arai which is amazing- really blocks the light and actually helps the helmet stay cooler.
