AltRider Triumph Tiger 800XC Side Foot Stand

Kicking down your side stand shouldn’t make you worry about a falling or sinking bike. The AltRider Side Stand Foot for the Triumph Tiger 800 offers peace of mind by creating a larger footprint to support the weight of your bike on soft ground.

Made from hefty 1/8 inch (3.175 mm) thick stainless steel, the bottom plate will not bend,  loosen, or  begin rattling over time.It features a 3D tread that provides traction for your boots and is the most ergonomic design on the market, allowing easy deployment of the side stand while still on the bike. The AltRider foot attaches using the flanged top plate that holds the curved foot, and Torx fasteners clamp it down for a tight fit.  This is the only side stand foot on the market with a top plate that encloses the foot from every angle -- there’s no chance of losing this one.

Notes:

  • Compatible with OEM centerstand
  • Not Compatible with Hepco Becker centerstand
  • Compatible with Tiger XC model

Needed accessory Picked this up before going on a 1500 mile ride to Arkansas to do a lot of off road riding. It cam in very handy in the water logged red clay that the stock foot would have crapped out in (still had to be careful even with the new foot). Fitting was a bit odd as the pictures in the instructions were not of the product you actually get, but having seen the photos here of the installed foot it's easy enough to figure out. Also didn't realize I would need a special bit for the screws (star screws vs. something else), luckily I happened to have the right size in a random tool kit. I actually did not need to cut down the screws, though I can see why others would. If you deform the foot enough to make the top and bottom plates flatten together you will need to cut some thread off, but I found the plate was plenty tight enough on the foot without having to deform the plate (there is a small air gap between the 2 plates but are not loose in any way) May 2, 2013
Excellent design for Tiger 800 with Center Stand If you have a Triumph Tiger 800 or 800XC with the Triumph Centerstand, and want a side stand foot, this is the "go-to" part. Most other side stand feet (that are centered on the foot) interfere with the centerstand once the side stand is in the "up" position. The quality of materials and fit/finish of this AltRider part is superb. I still eased the edges a bit with my Dremel tool and a sanding disk. It installs easily and is obviously custom designed for the Tiger 800 side stand. It is good looking, functions well, and when retracted, tucks in very tightly to the Triumph centerstand but does not interfere with it. I am very impressed with the Tiger line of products offered by AltRider. March 4, 2013
Durable and well made but fit has some issues This is a well made product that is strong and durable. However, I found that, after I had installed per the instructions, the fasteners projected down through the base of the bottom plate. Someone else's review mentioned that they ground down the screws after installation. I added additional washers in between the top and bottom plate to make up the overage. I had to remove and re-install the foot a few times to get the right fit. Having said all this, I like how it looks and functions quite well, even though the installation had some challenges. Necessary accessory but poorly finished Necessary accessory because Tiger 800XC is quite heavy and easily falls on soft ground. Unfortunately the screws were too long and needed to be cut in order to fit right. This shouldn't happen and for this reason I do not recommend the product. . October 25, 2012

I know the touratech version makes it so the side stand cannot be up if the center stand is down.
