It was a good jacket
Unfortunately the first time I rode with this jacket I went down. At about 70 mphs this jacket did help. But it is mesh so it ripped to pieces. It has small shoulder and elbow pads. I landed on my shoulder and it is separated. If the pads had been bigger it might not have been so bad. I slid on my back and got some road rash. So the protection was minimal. It did let a lot of air in. I felt it was a little small in length. I'm 6 foot 1 170lb. Jacket was nice and looked cool but get something with more protection. I think I'm going to stick with leather from now on. When I can get back on a bike again.

Great Jacket.
This is a wonderful jacket with good protection and has the ability to add more protection if needed. I'm a little over 5'9, weigh about 160 lbs and I wear a Large. The Medium I tried on seemed a little tight, but that is just personal preference. This jacket provides great airflow and almost makes me want to wear a long sleeve under it even when the temperatures reach 90 degrees. I do wish there was one or two more pockets and that the collar came up a little higher on the neck.

Overall a good choice for warmer weather
First of all, this is not a true mesh jacket. There is good amount of this that is textile. Depending on your tolerance, this can be a hot weather or a super hot weather jacket. The best thing about this jacket is the liner. Yes it is waterproof (although the jacket is not) but the liner extends its use into late spring and early fall without issues.. Some people can go further with it. The white does get dirty really fast.. despite my best efforts to keep it clean. The zippers on the front of the forearms are IMO not up to par with the rest of the jacket, and they get caught on the mesh panel undernear if you arent super slow and careful. When you order this jacket, immediately buy a Bio Armor back protector.. Don't even think twice. The foam pad is worthless. I did not upgrade the chest armor and doubt I ever will. As a matter of fact I have been thinking of removing the foam pieces to allow more airflow as I can still feel quite warm in the heat of the summer. Overall a great jacket with classic Alpinestars style. I see that now they have the all black version coming out.. that's what I would love to swap this one for.. ride safe.

Great product at a great price
This was the first thing I bought when I got my motorcycle. It runs a little small but I knew that ahead of time so I bought a size bigger and it fits perfect. The size guide is dead on.

The protection is great, although I would recommend replacing the back protector as it is cheap "egg carton" type foam. Air flow is amazing and there are lots of great features included. It's very comfortable and I would highly recommend at it's price point, or even quite a bit higher.

Well the day finally came
Took this jacket for a slide yesterday on the freeway, came off at about 70 mph. I had added a better back plate and boy did this jacket save my butt. I slid for a good fifty feet before coming to a screeching halt, the Armour worked just as intended and i walked away with minor scrapes and a dislocated shoulder.
Comfortable, and great protection.

Very cool summer jacket! even for Arizona!
Dress for the slide, not the ride...right? This jacket is exactly what I was looking for. I ride year round in Phoenix, AZ and this jacket is light and breezy enough for just that. With my old three season jacket I thought I would burst into flames in the summer and because of that I would ride without a jacket (don't do that!). This jacket has all the protection (besides a back protector - available for more $$$) and it BREATHES!! I totally recommend this jacket for temps between 60 and 115! The only downside is the italian design puts the zipper on the wrong side, not a big deal. This jacket is worth the price!

Nice jacket... great air flow and great mesh material. The hi-viz lines are very discreet in daylight, like has to be.
I bought the Bio-armor back protector, making the jacket a little heavier, but nothing to worried.

In overall, Alpinestars always make good products.

Love it
My personal favorite piece of gear i have purchased so far in my few years of riding. Have gotten lots of compliments on the look and it also helps that it has some reflective features on it so you become slightly more visible to cars. Only thing you should know on the negative side is that it fits much smaller than other jackets. I'm 5'5 1/2 with a slim build and it sits right at my waist. Might want to order a size larger than you usually do. Overall, great jacket.

Great first jacket
This is the only jacket I've owned, so take this with a grain of salt. I just saw that it's on closeout and figured I'd add my two cents after one year and 6,000 miles with it.

Bang for the buck (5/5): This is a quality jacket. Fit and finish is excellent, the stitching is sturdy one year after purchase All of the velcro still sticks firmly. I'm currently in California, so I use this jacket year round. For those in a cooler climate, the jacket comes with a liner that effectively blocks all airflow to the torso, so I'd say this jacket would make a great 3/4 year jacket when paired with a base layer.

Style (5/5): It just looks great. I got the black and white type, and it really pops. Not much else to say, besides it makes you look and feel like a total badass.

Comfort (5/5): I hesitated taking a point off for comfort, but ultimately did not. I only have one minor gripe, that there is a significant amount of float in the elbow armor when the jacket isn't being worn. It makes getting the sleeve on a little annoying. When the jacket is being worn, however, it fits me like a glove. All the armor stays solidly in place, and there is enough room for it to move depending on your position. This last part will change from person to person, but it fits me like a glove (I'll expand on that when I discuss fit).

Protection and Durability (4/5): Knocked a point off here because of the frankly pitiful back protection. The elbow and shoulder armor is good, fits well, and seems protective, but they put in this absolutely pathetic foam back protector. As soon as I got the jacket, I ordered the Nucleon KR-1i back armor and KR-Ci chest protector inserts. No issues with durability.

Air Flow (5/5): Breathes very well. Ridden with it in arid climates and humid climates and it's good at keeping me cool. I do sweat in it on especially hot days, but I can't imagine having more airflow while maintaining the same level of protection.

Features (5/5): Pockets for additional armor, an internal waterproof pocket, a base layer vest for colder riding, can be zipped to the riding pants, etc. shows that the designers at A* wanted this to be a solid, versatile jacket at a good price.

Fit for me was exactly as I had hoped. I'm 5' 8", 160 lbs, very average frame, and I got the small. Spot on.

Overall, 5 stars. Excellent jacket, would absolutely recommend, but I'd also recommend getting the back and chest protector. Not sure what the newest inserts are, but mine fit perfectly, as you would expect from another product from the same brand. I'd also recommend the Oxygen Air Overpants, also from A*, since the bottom of this jacket and the top of the pants zip together. Not sure if this feature can be used with other brands, but it's nice to have that little extra insurance if you go down.

Great Summer Jacket
I'm 5'5" 140lbs athletic build. I bought size SM and they fit slightly loose. Which is good for daily commuting. This jacket has tons of airflow.

Cons about this jacket is that it does not have a waterproof pocket for your device or wallet. Also the wrist zipper will get stuck sometimes.

Love the jacket; I'm a decent size guy (6'3, 245lbs) and my shoulders are really wide. I ordered the 3XL and it fits like a glove. It couldnt have fit any better. Very pleased with it and it looks great. Doesnt get too warm on the hot days, I like the removable rain protector, and it keeps me pretty warm if the temperature dips down at night.

After spending several hours on Rev looking at every jacket in my price range and and style I went for the high visibility color and slim Euro styling of this jacket. I am 6"1" and 170 pounds. This was the cut and look I wanted plus the protection and seasonality. I am new to the sport but familiar with the brand and its longstanding history. Great jacket so far. Fit was spot on (Large) with what the sizing chart and video suggested.

Is the cut of this jacket the same as the Alpinestars T-GP R Textile or the Alpinestars T-GP Plus Air? I have the T-GP Plus Air in S and I don't like the cut as it's too short from the front. On the other hand, I tried out the T-GP R Textile (unfortunately it's discontinued) in S and it's a perfect cut for me. Please advise. Thanks.
A shopper on Jan 9, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Well, I couldn't tell you how it fit's compared to the other jackets that you mentioned, but I can tell you how it fits me. I'm 5'8", right around 160, and in fairly decent shape. I have a medium, and it fit's pretty good. Right now, I'm wearing a full uniform underneath and it still fits fine, in addition to having put the Bionic back and chest protectors inside it. I did break my arm a few months ago and wear a brace on it now, so that sleeve is slightly snug but still comfortable. Length wise it's spot on, shoulders is good, and the sleeves are the right length. Without knowing how tall you are, how much you weigh, etc. I can't really tell you how a small would fit you, but I'd say go ahead and order it. Ships for free, exchange for free.
Is there a way to place bio armor CHEST pads in these jacket? Any modifications?
Mehmet D on May 22, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the jacket is compatible with the bio armor chest pads. There is a zipper on the inside bottom of the jacket (its hidden behind the zipper for the connection to pants). Open the zipper, dig around to the chest compartment, and you can un-velcro the chest armor enclosures. Take out the foam stuff and put the bio armor in.
Hi, I'm 5 ft 6 in weighing 167lbs, chest 40 in, waist 39, hip 43. Which size will fit me best? pls help
A shopper on Mar 18, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Im 5'10", 150 lbs, chest 39 in, waist 31 in, with fairly broad shoulders relative to the rest of my torso, and a Medium fits me perfect with the waist adjustment straps tightened down pretty far. There is plenty of waist adjustment on this jacket, and I would say the main limiting factor is in the shoulder/chest area, so I would choose a size based on your chest measurement.
Is this good for cool weather like here in Orlando, FL? During fall and winter here we get around 40F (the lowest).
kyogen on Oct 28, 2014
BEST ANSWER: with the rain liner and a sweatshirt it is perfect for riding in the 40's. I live in the Midwest and during the fall we have a lot of 40 degree riding days. Jacket works great but you do need something underneath. It is a summer jacket and has a lot of airflow. I have had the jacket for 2 years. Works great.
What year is this jacket?

The windproof inner also is inside the sleeves?

BEST ANSWER: No, the liner is only a vest.
My Chest size matches the medium size but my hight matches an XL (I'm 6'1"). I prefer a tighter fit jacket. Would the medium work for me or would I just look ridiculous?

BEST ANSWER: I am about the same height and on the border between a large and XL. I tried the large and the XL. I like a little more of a relaxed fit in the arms. I felt for me the large was just a tad short on the arms when in riding position, so I went with the XL. 6'1"ish and 187 lbs. 44" chest, arms length about 25". With your height I would go with the Large if you like a tighter fit. I think the MED would be like a tall guy in a little coat. RevZilla does have no restocking fees so if you didn't like the fit you can always return for a different size. That is what I did. By the way. The jacket is awesome! Great airflow and very comfortable. Cool weather make sure to wear the lining and a extra layer with long sleeves. The jacket is ment to keep the air flowing. Hope this helps. Ride safe!
Hi, I'm 5 ft 5 in weighing 145lbs, chest 36.5 in, waist 32, hip 36.5 would a medium fit good or a small? I'm not sure what to get here. Please help!

BEST ANSWER: I would say that before ordering my jacket this last time, I went ot a local shop and tried on the same jacket. I later found out that some local shops will match the price of Revzilla, but not on all items. Revzilla offers cash incentives on purchases the dealers won't offer though. Visit a local dealer and try on the same jacket or something similar by the same maker. I believe you would want a Medium, but try one on first. The return policy with Revzilla is great as I have had to return some items in exchange for another size, because I didn't try it on first.
I am planning on purchasing this product as well as the bio armor back protector and i need to know what size i need if i am a size XXL?

BEST ANSWER: Yeah, if you're a size XXL in most things, you'd probably want a XXXL in this. I ordered an XL at first because that's what I wear in almost all US clothing. It was very tight and short, and for reference I'm 6'4, 250lbs with an athletic build. I returned the XL for a XXL, and now I'm going to probably order a 3XL too before deciding whether to keep the XXL or 3XL. I didn't notice much difference at all from the XL to XXL, and I'm hoping the 3XL at least gets an inch or 2 longer. There's no way to connect the jacket to any pants if all of the jackets regardless of size only come down to about 4" above where the good lord split me.
is this jacket rainproof ?

BEST ANSWER: It is not. Comes with an inner waterproof vest (that does not cover your arms). Tried it once and got soaked. Great ventilation and looks. Armor feels light as well (compared to my other jackets). Would I still buy again? Sure. It's a good cpmpromise away from heavier and hotter jackets. Plus I intend on getting additional armored pieces
