Beefy knee and upper shin protection.
Bought these to fit under my Icon Strongarm jeans, and on that account they work perfectly. In addition to my armored shorts I feel rather protected on the road. Not sure how well they'll work as far as airflow goes, or if they'll get uncomfortable after a while, but I don't think they'll be too bad and at speed they'll probably work fine. I am impressed with how they fit nicely on my knees and the armor itself is quite good.

Better than ICON Stryker or Fox Titan Pro
I tried on the Icon Stryker, Fox Titan Pro, and Fox Titan Race knee guards and the Alpinestars Vapor came out on top. One strap above the knee and one below hold them in place very well. A strech panel above the knee ensures that they are flexible but are also able to move into the right position when changing between standing and sitting on the bike.
These knee guards are great around town over my Drayko jeans (they also fit under) but I would use them on longer rides, too, had I not built-in knee pads in my motorcycle pants.
The Icon Stryker and Fox Titan Pro knee guards were way too bulky. The Titan Pro also are not CE approved unlike the Icon or Alpinestars. Being the most expensive one of the four by far, the Icon Stryker lack a strap above the knee which makes me wonder how well they would stay in place in a crash or when riding long distances.
It didn't take long before I knew the Alpinestars Vapor are the winner for my type of riding and they're also the least bulky. If I wear them over jeans, I can just throw them in a small backpack when walking around town. But they are also comfortable enough to leave on when walking if you don't mind the looks.

good bang for the bucks, comfy but straps are scratchy
I bought these knee protectors to wear them under my motorcycle jeans for better protection...I like them, for the price you pay you get a lot, however, the only thing that I did not like is the feel of the straps: it is scratchy and when you walk the feel gets a bit worse...otherwise for this price they are good and I can recommend them

I was able to fit them under a pair of American Eagle boot cut jeans 32/32. It was tight getting the jeans over the knee cup, but it wasn't uncomfortable once I had the jeans over them. It will be a close fit. I like that the jeans hold the guards in place though.2 months, 2 weeks ago
