Great summer jacket for the price I'm 6', 245 lb, chest measurement is 52", waist is 36." I ordered a XXXL and it fits great. The jacket also does not try to contort me into a high speed crouch, I ride a Hypermotard, and this jacket fits my normal riding posture. My only complaint with the jacket is the small zipper, but it's manageable. I bought this jacket on the recommendation of an online Rev staff member. He answered all of my questions, and was extremely helpful. June 11, 2015
Does great I ride about 30 miles each way everyday. This jacket has been able to withstand temperatures down to the low 20's at highway speeds before I start to get cold. I have a sport bike and ride on the tank so it does make a difference. I couldn't do that if I was sitting on the bike. Sitting on the bike I can probably withstand the low 30's before I get cold. The jacket is a little rough on the skin when the liner isn't in it. With the liner in it, I've been wearing it around as my winter coat. It looks great!! My only complaints are the zipper is reversed from what I am use to and the jacket feels rough without the liner in it. Its a good jacket. I do recommend it. November 17, 2014
Great Jacket for NorCal Bay Area Riders! I bought this Jacket back in March of 2014 and so far its been great! I live in the bay area (SF) and this jacket pretty much covers all seasons for the bay area except when it rains. It can get hot when not moving above 30mph on summer days, but once you get some air flow, the DFC air venting on the jacket works well. When it gets cold, you definitely want to layer up as it can get chilly. I am about 5'10, 185-190lbs with an athletic build. I have broad shoulders so I went with a size XL. It's a little baggy on the chest/stomach area, but if you layer up than the fit feels much better (i typically wear a sweater/hoodie). I think I could have ordered a size L for a better fit, but the jacket still works nicely. I went with the white/florescent yellow and I think it looks great! It helps drivers/riders see me at night. The protection on the elbows and shoulders feel a bit cheap even though they are CE rated (but given the price of the jacket, can't really complain). The zipper can be a pain to deal with, but once you get used to how it works, it shouldnt be a problem at all. I bought the bionic air back protector insert which I think is a must since it gives extra protection and gives you more confidence as a rider. Overall, I do like this jacket and would recommend to other riders if they are looking for a great textile jacket that is around the $300 mark. October 27, 2014
The Best California Jacket! I bought the T-GP Pro by Alpinestars because I desperately needed one jacket - but not touring style - that I could stretch through all 4 seasons. California seasons mind you, so I'm not talking the coldest winters or the hottest summers, but between mid-30's and high-90's... and so far it's been perfect! If you live in a climate similar to Southern California, do not hesitate to buy this as your all-rounder. During the cold months, the thermal/wind liner does a fantastic job of keeping the cold air out and your body heat in, and during the warmer months, I was really surprised by how well the venting performed. Open up the DFC(Dynamic Flow Control) zippers on the shoulders, zip open the exhaust on the tail end, and maybe even pop those pockets open if you want, and you *will* feel the air rushing through this jacket. Alpinestars really did an amazing job with the airflow despite the lack of external mesh panels. I really have to wrack my brain to think of any real cons to this jacket, considering the price point and its respective category. The zippers, main closure included, are a bit hard to use with gloves on, and it does chafe a little in the elbows when the liner is removed, but that's too be expected of anything with a mesh interior that contacts the skin. You will definitely want to upgrade the back protector as well if you care at all about your spine. The Alpinestars Bio Armor Back Protector is super affordable here on Revzilla, and I can not recommend it enough. I'm 6'0" with a 38" chest and I went with a Medium. It fits snug with the thermal liner in, and very comfortably with it out. The fit of this thing is great. Very sporty and very svelte. Predictably Euro in its cut, and looks AWESOME in that Black-White-Red. The T-GP Pro is the best sport textile jacket I've ever worn. I spent weeks studying reviews and watching Anthony here on Revzilla look at dozens of different jackets, and I have little doubt that I found the perfect one for me. If you need a versatile sport jacket with a sexy Euro style, you are already on the right product page. January 6, 2014
It's a great jacket, warm enough for most days during Northern California's winter (temperatures in the 40s) Overall, it's a great jacket. I bought it for the winter (Northern California winter morning temperatures are in the 40s). With a t-shirt and a reasonable shirt on, the jacket (with the liner in) keep me warm on my commute. Style-wise, the jacket looks great and feels comfortable, and has enough flourescent material that I'm noticed by drivers. The biggest complaint I have is about the zippers. The main zipper is backwards (the pull is on the wrong side), and none of the zippers (the main one and the outer pockets) have nothing attached to the pulls, making them almost impossible to open with any sort of gloves on. I've added my own strings to them but it seems like something this obvious should have been included from the start. The other complaint I have is with the mesh liner inside jacket (when the thermal liner is not installed). There are several pockets in it, each with a velcro closure. The pockets themselves are sort of flimsy (because the liner is mesh), and the velcro closures are as likely to stick to the mesh as they are to stick to the other half of the velcro. Solid Jacket This is a very good mid to late season jacket. Comfortable, nice removable full arm liner, decent vents for those warmer days. The only issue I have with it is the velcro on the neck sometimes will stick to my helmet strap and the zippers feel a little on the cheap side. Sizing I would say is on the small side going off the chart I bought a Med. but had to send it back for a Lrg because it restricted my arm movements slightly. But, overall this a great jacket. RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Krystle S: Christmas gift for my husband. Feb 6, 2015
Brandon G: I live in AZ and I wanted a jacket to suit my temperature riding range (45 to 90 degrees) and stretch as far in to winter and summer as possible. My riding style is commuting, night rides and occasional trip up to Sedona. Having read reviews for a month straight on all the alpine jackets this jacket was the best choice for me. Oct 16, 2014
I N: best value for the money and it just looks really cool!! Sep 5, 2014
me t asked: I'm a Medium in Chest, but a 2XL in the arm. Would I be best going with a Large as I think the 2XL will be to baggy? Shipping to New Zealand so need to get it right first time. Feb 2, 2015

Jayson S: I'm 6'2" 200lbs athletic and I went with the XL . Fits perfectly around the chest and length of arms. Its a little snug with the liner in, but nothing unbearable. Plus the liner flattens out once worn a couple times. I also have the air jacket, in 2XL but its too loose around everything. That's why I went with the XL. Hope this helps Feb 5, 2015

Dom F: This jacket fits me like a glove in the chest, but loose in the arms. It's tight in the chest because I have an aftermarket back protector installed that replaced the original back protector. I live in Arizona, so I removed the liner. I have an athletic build and I am ok with my jacket being lose in the arms. I don't feel restricted at all. I wear medium golf polos and the fit works best for me. I gauged the fit from my shirts to get the proper fit for my jacket. At the end of the day, the rep that helped me was FREAK'n AWESOME! My AGV helmet, Sidi boots, gauntlet gloves and Alpinestars jacket fit perfect! I owe it all to the Revzilla staff for great/patient customer service and over the top product knowledge!!! Feb 16, 2015

Leon G: As you may know, with Alpinestars gear, you want to go up 1 size for a good fit because their gear tends to run a bit small...jackets as well as gloves. I too am a medium chest but not quite 2XL in the arms. A large jacket fits me spot on. I think a XL would fit a bit too baggy. Feb 5, 2015

jeff r: It would all depend on where you want not enough fabric or too much fabric. I am quite thin, I chose a small to fit my chest snug. I would consider it about an inch short on my arms, but I got a pair of gloves that would fix that problem. Feb 5, 2015

Brock F: I have skinny arms and the medium with the thermal liner in fits me well so, you shoukd be better off getting a large. It may fit a little snug with the liner in, but without it you should be golden Feb 5, 2015

Jeff K: I'm not sure about the short legs part, but I wear this jacket with a pair of
Alpinestars Express Drystar Overpants. They zip together and are pretty warm.

me t asked: Is this waterproof? Or if not fully, is it good enough to wear if caught in a 30min shower on a commute? Am torn between this and the Jaws WP but as none are available in New Zealand its a big risk for me. Temps in summer are high 80/low 90 but quite humid but winters can be wet and down into the 50f. Feb 1, 2015

Brock F: It's not *waterproof but I would say it's water repellent. I was caught in a downpour on the interstate for about 20 minutes of hard rain and my clothes underneath didn't get wet, although the jacket felt wet on the outside it was fine with the liner in. Feb 5, 2015

A shopper asked: Are there any CE Level 2 back inserts available for this product? I only see Alpinestars inserts with CE Level 1 or ones that look like they need to be worn separately from the jacket. Mar 31, 2014
