Alpinestars T-GP Plus Air Jacket

The T-GP Plus Air jacket is an abrasion resistant summer mesh jacket constructed from 600 Denier Polyester Fabric and non-water absorbing mesh. This jacket has a Sport fit with pre curved sleeves for riding comfort, particularly suited for riders on a Sportbike.  

A tailored fit can be obtained through waist and wrist adjustments which include non aggressive micro-velcro tabs. A waist connection zipper allows attachment to selected Alpinestars leather and textile pants.

Protection features include removable CE certified Bio Armor elbow and shoulder protectors.  As in all Alpinestars Jackets, there is a Chest pad compartment with PE padding (Bionic Chest Pads available for purchase separately) and Back protector compartment with PE padding (CE certified Bio Armor Back Protector available separately).

  • Multiple internal storage compartments
  • YKK zippers

Worth every penny It has very good style, excellent looking, and great comfort. It comes a little tight in the hips, but doesn't matter. It cannot be upgraded with the chest bionic armor, but can be replaced in shoulders, elbows and the back. May 4, 2013
Cool jacket for Stop/Go Traffic I wore the GP-Plus Perforated Leather jacket from A* for the most of the early months of California in stop and go traffic and I was properly cool. As spring is rolling around and summer next, I immediately realized I need a mesh jacket for these warmer months. I looked no further than the T-GP air cause I had such a great experience with the GP-Plus. The styling and fit is the same. Other than the material, the only 2 major difference I saw was #1: no zipper on the cuffs and #2: the back protector compartment is not inside the liner like the GP-Plus. I'm thoroughly happy with this purchase and give A* another notch on the positive scoreboard. I am 5'7'' and bought the Medium. (150lbs). It fits perfectly. April 16, 2013
Love it Fits nice and snug which is great when you're riding. The armor somewhat hinders eccentric movement like putting on a backpack or helmet, but since that's not really the point, hardly a complaint. The slim fitting, logos, and color look awesome. Probably my only legitimate complaint is that the cuffs have kind of a lot of fabric which bunches up when you sinch it down forcing you to have to coerce a gauntlet around it. March 30, 2013

Fits well, no complaints. I'm 5'8", 140+ lbs and a medium fits me pretty perfectly, if slightly snug. Jacket looks nice and fits comfortably. Added in the cheap AS back shield and I don't even notice it's there. Took it out for a ride today (~35 and flurrying) and it definitely moves air through it. Kept it slow on back roads and even with a sweatshirt under it I was feeling cold. Hopefully that carries over into summer when I'll actually want that air flow. March 21, 2013

Does this actually have a wind/water resistant inner liner? The video review mentioned it, but I cant see it listed anywhere else.

Check out the size chart, Personally I would say SM, but best bet would to go into a local store, or a little drive to a bike shop so you can try a couple jackets on and see exactly how they fit.

The Alpinestars T-GP-R Air Jacket will be slightly more vented than the Alpinestars T-GP Plus Air Jacket due to additional vented mesh panels on the back. However, the difference will be barely noticeable except for the look.

The proprietary Alpinestars Bio Armor is superior to the Knox Flexiform Armor and nearly on par with the Pro Life Armor. The Alpinestars Bio armor is what Alpinestars uses in their one piece race suits. SaS-Tec is the best for comfort and textile application, but it's currently not being used in any race applications.

Answer: 
The difference between the two jackets is primarily style. The T-GP is more of a sporty jacket when compared to the T-Stunt. The other difference is that the T-GP Plus Air Jacket will flow more air than the T-Stunt Air Flo Jacket. Other than that, they are quite similar from a protection and fit standpoint.
