The T-GP Plus Air jacket is an abrasion resistant summer mesh jacket constructed from 600 Denier Polyester Fabric and non-water absorbing mesh. This jacket has a Sport fit with pre curved sleeves for riding comfort, particularly suited for riders on a Sportbike.
A tailored fit can be obtained through waist and wrist adjustments which include non aggressive micro-velcro tabs. A waist connection zipper allows attachment to selected Alpinestars leather and textile pants.
Protection features include removable CE certified Bio Armor elbow and shoulder protectors. As in all Alpinestars Jackets, there is a Chest pad compartment with PE padding (Bionic Chest Pads available for purchase separately) and Back protector compartment with PE padding (CE certified Bio Armor Back Protector available separately).

I compared the Alpine Stars jacket with two other high mesh jackets from other brands. Ultimately, the Alpine Stars was the most comfortable and looked the best, but I needed to go a size larger. I am 6' 0.5" 155 lbs and tried a size M for the three jackets (as I usually do). The Alpine Stars was very snug which would be okay except the length - the jacket fell an inch above my beltline. While this is expected from a sport cut, combined with the overall snugness I went a size up to L and much prefer that fit (to cover my belt buckle and have a little breathing room for the hot AZ weather I'm riding in). I purchased the optional Alpine Stars back protector insert (the pricier Air version - it is worth it). I'm on the fence on the bionic chest inserts.
Pros: Great style, black mesh is smart as you don't see the dirt that gets trapped so easily. Really comfortable - particularly the arms were more comfortable than other brands due to the less bulky comforming elbow protectors. There is a model up from this, the GP-R but I didn't like the style as much and did not need the windblocking inner liner.
Cons: No retroreflective striping/material for night visibility. Not much mesh on the back. Could use a bit more waist adjustment. A fastener to trim the arm width would also be nice. Need to buy the back protector separately, but it's worth it.

This product is definitely the best for the price. However, I would recommend upgrading the back plate and chest pads, only because it comes with very thin foam pieces which feel like they wouldn't do anything at all. Other than that, this product is great! The quality is the same as the more expensive Alpine Stars jackets that I've seen. The fit is pretty small though, I am a medium (only 5 foot 8) and it is a little short but the arms fit perfect. So a large probably would've been a little better. The elbow/forearm and shoulder pads are very comfortable! Like they're not even there. I would definitely recommend this product, especially for the price.

This is one of the best jackets on the market around the $200 range. The mesh is arranged in good areas so even on pretty humid 80 degree days in central Illinois, it breathes very well even at a stop light. It is very true to size and comfortable except for the elbow/forearm pads which seem to slide down to far when I'm on my bike. I can always slide them back up but they don't always stay cupped around the elbow which can be irritating. Not a big deal but just one thing I noticed after wearing this jacket for about 2 weeks. This was my first jacket purchase to wear on a sportbike and first purchase of an Alpinestars product and am very pleased.

The proprietary Alpinestars Bio Armor is superior to the Knox Flexiform Armor and nearly on par with the Pro Life Armor. The Alpinestars Bio armor is what Alpinestars uses in their one piece race suits. SaS-Tec is the best for comfort and textile application, but it's currently not being used in any race applications.

The difference between the two jackets is primarily style. The T-GP is more of a sporty jacket when compared to the T-Stunt. The other difference is that the T-GP Plus Air Jacket will flow more air than the T-Stunt Air Flo Jacket. Other than that, they are quite similar from a protection and fit standpoint.
