Great Jacket I needed a better daily jacket that would be good for 3/4 of the year. For my needs this jacket is perfect and looks great. If it's a crispy morning I just throw on a hoodie under the jacket. When it's hot (80+) I just wear a t-shirt underneath since this jacket provides excellent airflow over the torso. May 19, 2015
Great Jacket I am 6'5' with 38 in waste. This jacket fits right, with chest and back protectors. It will serve me well this summer. Since it is European size, fit is to size. I can't be huffing too any burgers and brats any more :) May 5, 2015
Cant go wrong for the price I'm 5'11 232lbs and broad built. I usually wear XXL t-shirts so I figured id order the jacket XXL and it fits great. great airflow even on a warm day and the styling is nice. the zipper is on the opposite side but that no big deal for me. For 140.00 bucks you can't go wrong. will def be buying from revzilla again. there super friendly and take the time to explain products for you so you feel comfortable buying what you want May 4, 2015
Sweet Air Jacket Love it , perfect fit...might get another color for this price!!! May 4, 2015
Overall a good product that could be much better with one minor change. 2006 GSXR 1000 & 1991 GSXR 750 This is a good looking jacket with a descent price tag on it. i use it for commuting back and forth to work in south Texas. I've added a back protector and will be adding the chest armor to it as well. With those additions I believe it will make a good safe summer jacket. The main thing that I don't like about the jacket is the main zipper. It is too small and is impossible to zip with gloves on. May 3, 2015
Great summer jacket. Bought this jacket on sale but it would be worth the regular price. I'm 6'4", 210 pounds and thought the XL was the right size but ordered the 2XL because the XL was out of stock. Turns out, the 2XL fit perfectly. I really like the jacket. It breaths a lot of air; so cool even on warm sunny days. The jacket is super comfortable. I added the chest and back armor, which added some weight but you don't notice it riding. April 27, 2015
Great Value I bought this for street riding in good weather only. I tried it last night and I'm very happy with it. It fits well although I feel it is just slightly smaller than I expected from a 2XL. The protection padding needs to be upgraded but I knew that going in. All of the pads do seem to be positioned appropriately for me anyway. My only real gripe is the backwards zipper. I'm sure I will get used to it but I wish I didn't have to. Thank you Revzilla. Your pricing was WAY better than any other I found and the shipping can't be beat, I ordered it on Monday afternoon and was trying it on Tuesday morning! April 22, 2015
Great Product at a Great Price This is a great reasonably priced summer jacket. I bought the Jacket during a close out sale, and I couldn't be happier. Great Airflow while riding, and the design looks pretty cool also. The availability to add additional pads within the jacket is a nice feature also. April 20, 2015

Tomi L: I always have Alpinestar equipment and was looking for a lighter jacket to wear when riding in the S. Cal summer weather that is extending into fall! My Alpinestar leather jacket is a bit too heavy for summer weather so this is the next best choice. I can also transfer my back protector to this jacket too. Zips up to my riding pants to make a one piece if need be. Oct 5, 2014
Paul S: Like the hi viz style. Sep 29, 2014
Greg H: It's coming up to summer down under and I needed a lightweight, cool jacket. It was an excellent price for an Alpinestar product, even with shipping costs to Australia. Wise C: I live in the DMV area which is know for hot and humid summers, this jacket seems to be the best option for the price that i was looking for, I have worn it a few times already and love it. Fits good, feels really durable and with the upgraded chest and back protector i think it would stand up well in the event of a crash. The only thing that bugs me about it is the left handed zipper, its kinda akward but Im over it. Apr 2, 2014

Cody R: The wind does cut right through this jacket, but a decent base layer will remedy that. I live in Jacksonville and if I rode more I might want to invest in the leather version as well. But for the 2-3 times a month I get out I make due with this jacket. For what it's worth the score I give it is 9 outta 10, fantastic jacket very few complaints, performs as advertised. Nov 23, 2014

Andrew P: That's actually a great question, one that I was curious about myself before buying.

It is a textile "mesh" material. By mesh I do mean transparent when held up to the light in certain spots and with that being said air can and will easily travel through to your body. (Can be good and bad just depending on the temp)

I am going to answer that question in a few different ways.

Cold is relative. If your used to hot all the time then even 55 will seem chilly to you. To me 55 is still quite comfortable.

If you do feel that 55 would be chilly then just wear a long sleeve shirt, thermal or under armor below.(that's what I do). I ride until there is snow *accumulated on the ground. I rode today and it was 20 deg here in Indy. in the end it's all about layers.

Now on the flip side think about the heat. You DO NOT want full leathers on a hot day not to mention in Florida's humidity. This textile mesh gives all the protection ( with all the possibility of upgrading) but with the flexibility of cooling yourself and putting on an extra layer to stay warm.

This jacket is a winner. Flexible and protective. I'd get it if i were you. And trust me. I did my research. Look at the matching alpinestars overpants to complete the suit.

richard w: I live in south Louisiana so the temps can be similar to Florida. This jackets is perfect for those 60f - 50f days but not much more. I'm usually always cold so you may be able to take a little cooler temp or you can always just wear a sweater underneath. I love this jacket comfortable and stylish. Nov 22, 2014

Jeff L asked: Hey all, I have a question about sizing for this jacket. I am 5'8, 165lbs, 37" chest and 30" waist. From the sizing chart I believe I should be a medium however I do not like a super tight fit and I also commute to work in a collared shirt at tie daily. What size would be right for me?

Thanks all!
May 13, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Miguel M: Hi Jeff, AlpineStars is very accurate on size. I'm a bit heftier than you on waist and chest. I also hate super tight gear. So I went up a size from what the chart indicated and it's a tad too loose. Try the medium first. If it does not work, RZ is very good with returns/exchanges. May 15, 2014

Justin H: Im 5'6" and it was almost short on me. I think your biggest issue would be jacket length if you went with a medium. May 13, 2014

Jack C: I am 5' 10" and 152 lbs with a 40" chest, 32 waist and the medium fits me a little on the snug side. May 15, 2014

A shopper asked: How is the ventilation? I have a Milano Sport jacket right now and it's no good since I sweat ridiculously in the nyc summer. Feb 2, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Brandon S: Ventilation is good, especially when moving at 40+. Obviously when sitting in traffic you'll start to get hot, but I've had zero issue with the jacket overall and would buy it again. Early Spring/ Late Fall it gets a little chilly, but its worth it in the summer. Feb 2, 2015

Casey J: The ventilation on the jacket was perfect for me in the Alabama summer. Unfortunately, the main zipper broke 3 months after purchase, so be very careful zipping on and off. Feb 2, 2015

A shopper asked: I am 15, so im still growing, and i want to put a sweatshirt under it when it gets a bit chilly. I usually fit into a small, but should i buy a medium? Jan 18, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
William M: Medium is good but this jacket will allow all the wind to go through and a sweatshirt won't help Jan 18, 2015
Reply to William Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Jon B: Always buy larger because you'll grow into it. If it's too small, it won't fit and your stuck. Feb 4, 2015

A S asked: hello i would like to buy this jacket.. but i do not know what size to get? I am 5'7' 180lbs and my chest measurement is 41cm. any help would be great.. thanks Oct 1, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Cameron G: I'm going to assume you meant 41inches. I'm 5'5 135 with a 38inch chest and i got a small and it's pretty snug. (with the chest and back armor). I know these jackets are meant to be snug but if you are going to be riding all year around you won't be able to get a hoodie underneath. I would suggest a Medium - Large Oct 1, 2014
Reply to Cameron Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
A S: Yea I would like to ride with this jacket year around. So I should go with a large right so I can wear a hoodie under..? Oct 1, 2014
Matthew H: I'm 6'1 and weigh 170 and I got the medium with the upgraded pads. Fits good. At first I thought it was a little short but it's actually perfect for leaning forward when riding. It doesn't dig into your legs. Oct 1, 2014

Waist is 80
Hip is 88

Check out the size chart, Personally I would say SM, but best bet would to go into a local store, or a little drive to a bike shop so you can try a couple jackets on and see exactly how they fit.

RevZilla: The Alpinestars T-GP-R Air Jacket will be slightly more vented than the Alpinestars T-GP Plus Air Jacket due to additional vented mesh panels on the back. However, the difference will be barely noticeable except for the look. Jun 1, 2012

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: The proprietary Alpinestars Bio Armor is superior to the Knox Flexiform Armor and nearly on par with the Pro Life Armor. The Alpinestars Bio armor is what Alpinestars uses in their one piece race suits. SaS-Tec is the best for comfort and textile application, but it's currently not being used in any race applications. A shopper asked: This jacket and the T-stunt seem to be very similar, down to the price. I was wondering if there are any important differences or if style is the main difference. Mar 19, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: The difference between the two jackets is primarily style. The T-GP is more of a sporty jacket when compared to the T-Stunt. The other difference is that the T-GP Plus Air Jacket will flow more air than the T-Stunt Air Flo Jacket. Other than that, they are quite similar from a protection and fit standpoint. Mar 23, 2012
