The Alpinestars Supertech R boot is the newest high performance/racing boot, constructed with hi-tech micro-fiber and designed to meet light weight and performance requirements in top level racing. The front flex area is constructed with a soft TPU mesh with shaped reliefs for abrasion resistance and natural forward and back movements. Flexible accordion synthetic leather at Achilles allows natural movement. Top gaiter follows leg contour and is made of flexible high-grade synthetic leather reinforced with rubber for maintaining shape. Full length micro-fiber panel on inner side of the boot provides a smooth surface for excellent grip and feel against the bike and protects from abrasion and heat. A lightweight rubber compound sole offers excellent grip and feel and allows for natural flex as the rider changes position and pressure on the foot-peg. Strategically positioned ventilation in heel and shin TPU, and soft TPU mesh on forefoot guides air through the boot.
The separate inner boot works with outer boot to form a protective system and external TPU shin protection wraps around to outer calf and is engineered to spread and dissipate impact energy across the entire surface while remaining compact. Clip-on toe-slider provides excellent feedback and protects the outer toe box structure from abrasion. (Upgradeable to a magnesium slider). Replaceable TPU heel plate slider protects from impact and reduces friction in the event of an off. Outside entry/exit has stretch accordion panel for a close fit and ease of entrance and removal. Bio-mechanical ankle bracing boot has double hinged inner and outer torsion bars to progressively absorb flex and rotation stress on the ankle and reduce pressure and hyper extension injury to lower leg joints. Inner ankle brace constructed with fiberglass charged polyamide and ergonomically designed closed cell padding for protection and comfort.

Most of the safty features of the boot are on the inside of the boot, leaving the outside less obtrusive looking. They run a little larger then USA sizes. I bought size 9 1/2 and I wear a size 10 1/2 (US) shoe. I would have never known this without the help of a salesperson (Bobby). They are the most comfortable of the top 3 Italian brands and feel like bedroom slipper, they're that light!

Great So far ... Need new rearsets to actually recognize the functionality and too early to judge reliability. They Definetly fit large so size down. I have average to small feet but never thought I would need a 7.5 !!! I where a size 9.5 to 10 in USA running shoes .. I have tried a couple brands and sent them all back. Very happy with the super techs

These boots are the most comfortable motorcycle boot I have worn. A little on the expensive side, but definitely worth the money. They fit a little large like all other Alpinestar boots. If you have the money and are looking for new boots, these are a must!

I just received these boots via UPS 5 minutes ago, one boot is already broken. Unfortunately the ratchet strap is made of tpu plastic which is flexible and embedded inside the plastic is a nut so that you can screw it on the boot. The nut is not glued and since the plastic is flexible it promptly came off with almost no resistance (I wasn't pulling on it). If someone reads this and talks to an Alpinestars rep please alert them to the flawed design. Another thing is on the new inner bootie someone missed a hole that the lace should be in... (coincidentally it's on the same boot that the ratchet strap broke). This is clearly an Alpinestars quality assurance issue.
I waited on preorder for these, spent a lot of money, and I don't feel like I should have to repair them the second I get them.
Other than the design flaw (repaired by a strong glue) I actually think these are great fitting boots and from what I hear offer a lot of protection when it counts.
I don't want to go through the hassle of sending a single flawed boot back, so I'm off to find some epoxy.
