Alpinestars Supertech-R Boots

The Alpinestars Supertech R boot is the newest high performance/racing boot, constructed with hi-tech micro-fiber and designed to meet light weight and performance requirements in top level racing. The front flex area is constructed with a soft TPU mesh with shaped reliefs for abrasion resistance and natural forward and back movements. Flexible accordion synthetic leather at Achilles allows natural movement. Top gaiter follows leg contour and is made of flexible high-grade synthetic leather reinforced with rubber for maintaining shape. Full length micro-fiber panel on inner side of the boot provides a smooth surface for excellent grip and feel against the bike and protects from abrasion and heat. A lightweight rubber compound sole offers excellent grip and feel and allows for natural flex as the rider changes position and pressure on the foot-peg. Strategically positioned ventilation in heel and shin TPU, and soft TPU mesh on forefoot guides air through the boot.

The separate inner boot works with outer boot to form a protective system and external TPU shin protection wraps around to outer calf and is engineered to spread and dissipate impact energy across the entire surface while remaining compact. Clip-on toe-slider provides excellent feedback and protects the outer toe box structure from abrasion. (Upgradeable to a magnesium slider). Replaceable TPU heel plate slider protects from impact and reduces friction in the event of an off. Outside entry/exit has stretch accordion panel for a close fit and ease of entrance and removal. Bio-mechanical ankle bracing boot has double hinged inner and outer torsion bars to progressively absorb flex and rotation stress on the ankle and reduce pressure and hyper extension injury to lower leg joints.  Inner ankle brace constructed with fiberglass charged polyamide and ergonomically designed closed cell padding for protection and comfort.

Features:

  • Extremely protective, flexible and comfortable with excellent aerodynamics
  • Flexible, lightweight toe shifter allows feel for changing gears
  • Zip mounted on accordion stretch panel gives easy closure with excellent fit
  • Velcro tab lock the zip pull closed, keeping it flat and secure
  • Micro adjustable ratchet top closure stows tab end inside calf TPU
  • Polyamide compound moldings around foot bed provide impact protection
  • Removable anatomic footbed is sculpted for precision fit
  • SUPERTECH R is CE certified

Nice boot, quality could be better for price I purchased this boot based on reviews. Overall I am not disappointed though I do feel for the price, the product could be a little better. My cons: If you have muscular calves, you might have trouble zipping the boot over your track suit. It is a struggle and a little frustrating. The second issue I had, was the ankle strap. The first pair I ordered, the strap disconnected while trying on and could not be reattached. Thank you Revzilla for the trouble free exchange. I am hoping that with time, the boot will stretch enough around the lower leg that con #1 will be a non-issue. March 31, 2014
Good Boots Enjoy mine. They are very comfy and offer great protection. If you are looking at this boot, you probably already know how good it is..... February 18, 2014
wow comfortable boots The first thing I noticed was how well they are made & how comfortable they are after a short time on the bike. Well done Alpinestars. The reviews sold me the boots. Thanks Revzilla. January 30, 2014
I would definitely follow RevZilla's advice about ordering your boots slightly larger than you think you should. Followed their advice-perfect fit. Great fit, design, and airflow. It takes a little longer to put your boots on in the morning but your feet and ankles will thank you if you ever take a spill. These boots are definitely designed to protect your lower extremities without destroying comfort. December 15, 2013
Comfortable fit, nearly unbeatable protection This was a post crash buy. Needed better foot protection. Fit: I initially bought the Sidi ST vented (you can read my review on that page, but returned them because fit was a little off (not snug enough around the instep-). Then tried on these girls and was blown away. As someone who considers themselves a boot aficionado, and has worked as a cobbler in my younger days, the fit on these was completely unexpected- so darn comfortable right out of the box. As a matter of fact-- perfect fit right out of the box. Most likely due to the well-designed booty, these things feel like perfect little freshly baked muffins for your feet. When they came i tried them on and they felt so darn comfortable I literally just left them on while watching tv-- not what you'd expect from the safest boots on the market (sans the Daytona Security Evos). Protection: Second to none, except for the the $1000 Daytonas. Although there is a tad more flex than the STs when twisting, side to side flex is completely comparable-- there is almost none. Also, the plastic protection of the inner booty extends all the way to the pinky toe (like the Daytonas), which the ST leaves vulnerable-- this was one of the areas crushed in my crash. I'm not an engineer but in the end the inner booty design (Supertech and Daytonas) seems much more protective than an exo skeleton design (everything else). Don't have to take the inner booty out when taking of or putting on so it's not as cumbersome as one may expect. They are race boots so it's not a slip on procedure but it takes just as long to put on the STs, but without all the fuss of fitting the break away back part back part of the STs into the front. Not much sole to wear down is the only issue, but then again, any more sole would result in loss of feel, which is perfect, so it's really a moot point. Inner booty design does add an extra centimeter of height so if you're a tall guy on a smaller bike, may be worth considering. If you're a short guy on a large bike, you'll be happy, easier to touch the ground at stop. Great product, keep up the good work and killer R+D A*s! December 13, 2013
what a deal I have 4 pairs of sport rider boots, each costing 70% of the price of these MotoGP boots.. and wow what great boots.. so many improvements over the squeaky, stiff and poor protection boot.. the Alpinestars are so quiet, flexible, comfortable, great airflow, and feel protected. The riding and control and road feel through the foot base.. I could not be more pleased. Just wish I had gotten these years ago. November 18, 2013
Great Boots These are simply the best boots on the market, extremely comfortable, great styling, and protection. I love them, they held up great in my wreck at the track as well. Hardly could tell they slid on the ground for a few hundred feet. They definitely fit a bit large and they're expensive but with the comfort and protection you get from this boot they're well worth the investment. September 12, 2013

Firas N asked: Hi.. I'm trying to figure out what size to purchase. The length of my right foot is 28 cm (11 inch) and the width (circumference) is 26 cm (10.2 inch). I'm considered to have a wide foot and my size ranges from 10 to 11 depending on the brand and shoe type (i.e., sneakers, boots, casual, dress, etc..). Could you please help me identify the best size to purchase?

thanks...

Chris H: I purchased this boot in euro size 46 (11.5 USA). I normal wear a size 12 in USA. I have a wide foot and big calves. I found it to fit like a slipper with a little extra toe room. I wear a thick pair of riding socks and find it to be perfect. I felt if I went down to a euro 45 that it might be on the tight side (probably wouldn't need the thick socks) but the length (toe area) would be perfect. I wear these almost daily. Since your between a 10-11 I would go with a 44. These particular boots run 1 size larger than they call for. So if you wear a size 11 normally-go with a size 10. Which in this case will be a euro 44. Might be snug at first, but boots will break in nicely. Best boot I've ever bought. Wouldn't by anything else. If your worried about a tightness go with the 45 and a thick pair of socks.
Hopefully this info helps

John K: My best guess would be 44. My foot is about 1 size smaller than yours (9-10 in most other shoes), and also wide. I went to the Philly store last year and tried on several different boots. In the other brands I tried on - Sidi and Dianese - 44 was the best fit, but in the Supertech Rs, 43 was the ticket. I bought them and they fit perfectly. If they don't fit, don't forget about RevZilla's fantastic exchange policy. Mar 6, 2014

Correa R: Firas, my regular US number is 10/10.5 I got a pair on 45 which I felt a little big... afterwards got another pair on size 44 which were perfect! So if you are more to size 11 for shoes, I would go with size 45 for the boot, otherwise you should be fine with the 44! Mar 6, 2014
