Excellent for small riders
I am 5'2" tall and around 110 lbs, making finding a bike, and gear, tough outside of the 'youth' categories.

The shallow truth...it's really pretty and quite cute. The grey/black combo is wonderful! I love the contemporary styling and remarkably feminine fit to the jacket (and matching pants). If I didn't look like a girl, I wouldn't have kept them.

The jacket is a bit long for my teeny build, but the ability to unzip the jacket from the bottom fixes this problem nicely. Nice features overall I especially like the non-aggresive velcro and a zillion pockets. The armor location and contouring made it virtually disappear while riding. I did not opt for the back protection armor that could be ordered separately because I usually have on a backpack.

For colder weather, 25-35 degrees, I could fit a hoodie underneath the jacket with the liner attached. I was never even a little bit chilly on my 45 minute, highway speed commute. With the liner out and no hoodie, normal spring/summer, the jacket still feels like a good fit and has good ventilation. It gets a bit toasty near 90 when not moving, but that is to be expected.

I also purchased the matching pants, the pants are a little tight getting over my hips, with the liner in and jeans on, but otherwise are wonderful as well. Other reviewers mentioned one size larger on the pant size, but the next size up was just too large to be comfortable.

I have driven through 65mph wind gusts, driving rain, and one hail storm. The gear performed admirably, leaving me both dry and warm, on the bike as well as waiting on the side of the road for the hail to stop :P

Great entry-level bad weather jacket
I hate putting the bike away for winter, so I've assembled some cold weather gear including this jacket!

I'm 5'4" 120, big shoulders and arms. SM fits me well - I can fit a sweater in there without the liner, and maybe two layers of underarmour with it. I don't wear hoodies because my helmet interferes with the hood coming out the neck, so no comment there.

I've worn this jacket anywhere from 80 degrees to 38 with wind chill and rain. So far it's performed pretty well. It's a bit... moist... above 75 degrees without the liner, but it's not really meant for that anyway imo.

After spending extended amounts of time in rain on a trip, it seemed like the elbow area of the sleeves got a little damp on the inside, but I think that's because I was wearing regular leather gloves that got soaked and permitted moisture into the arms (I didn't have this issue with waterproof gloves). On that same trip I found myself in windy, reeeeally cold conditions (on top of a mountain in the rain) and I can honestly say this jacket probably saved me a trip to the hospital - without it keeping my core warm I would have been in serious trouble. That was without the liner, too. I rode for an hour in 45 degrees at 80 mph and felt a little cool (had the liner and an underarmour heatgear longsleeve underneath).

My only issue is that the inner liner doesn't zip together in the front. There are flaps over the zipper that are supposed to keep wind out, but you can definitely feel the cold all along the line of that zipper.

A wonderful cold weather jacket!
I'm 5'5" 115lb so I bought a size small, so far I absolutely love it! I'm constantly complaining about how I'm so cold, and don't even talk to me about riding in the rain because it simply won't happen. My boyfriend bought me this jacket and matching pants and I could not be happier with them. Riding around town I did not even need any base layers on underneath, it was so warm! We rode together around the Olympic Peninsula in the rain, sometimes riding over 60pmh, and it stayed totally dry and totally warm. The only complaint I have is that I probably should have got a medium, because I ended up putting a sweater on underneath it once the sun dropped, and my range of motion seemed a little constricted. All in all, this is an excellent buy and I highly recommend it.

Great jacket
I got this jacket for Christmas as a gift. It was an excellent purchase by my husband. Good protection and good jacket for a cold condition riding. I highly recommend this jacket. My height is 5'4 and weight 110 lbs and it size small fits good with layers underneath. And it fits good on the shoulders and can easily maneuver your bike without a problem.

hi, i want to buy this jacket for my girlfriend, we are doing medium distance touring in the weekends and 1-2 week long ride once a year. we are riding in temperatures above 15 degrees Celsius usually. with thermal linear removed, do you think it would be very hot for her? we do like this jacket and hope it is not a winter/very cold weather jacket.. another solution would be the Stella gunner WP, but i don t see any review.. what do you think?

BEST ANSWER: A S, My wife loves the jacket. It looks and fits good. She tends to get cold, and we live in a warm climate. The coldest it gets is 40F. She always wears the liner, a sweater, and a shirt during the winter. It's too hot in the summer when it gets to 90F, so she has a summer jacket. I'm guessing 15C is about 60F, so I don't think anyone would be cold with this jacket.
Hi there, I just bought this jacket in a medium (love it), and want to find out which of the Alpinestars back protectors will fit with this jacket?

I just bought this jacket in a medium (love it). Is there a back protector you'd recommend that fits with this size/style of jacket?

BEST ANSWER: The Revzilla video review mentions one that has a bit more protection than the foam insert, but I can't remember the exact brand/size. Hope that helps.
