Alpinestars SP1 Gloves

The Alpinestars SP-1 Gloves bridge the gap between the track and the street. With many of the same protective features found on more expensive race gloves, the SP-1 Gloves have a full grain leather construction, 3rd/4th finger bridge, carbon fiber knuckle protection and TPU protective accents.

Despite being loaded with protective features, the SP1 Gloves remain fit and trim for all day street riding comfort and an integrated touch screen compatible index finger has been added to boost everyday functionality.

A* SP-1 Gloves I had to retire an older pair of SP-1 gloves, and tried a few different pairs from other manufacturers. I wound up back with A* for fit, and comfort. these run a little larger than the prior models of SP-1. I wear a large in these, where i i was an XL in my prior pairs. very well made, not sure how they do in a crash but seem durable. great compromise between street and track gloves. Revzilla was great on returns and customer service as always. November 23, 2015
A lot of glove for little price. I bought the glove wanting more protection for the street and a few track days. This bridges the gap beautifully. I love the way they feel with the controls lots of feedback and Really good airflow.!!! November 14, 2015
i wouldn't ride with anything less. These gloves are awesome. I love the idea of the pinky bridge, and it doesn't get in the way at all. A minor complaint, that might resolve itself after being thoroughly broken in, is the interior seams on my right hand. My index and middle finger nails catch on the leather seams sometimes. I live in Southern California and have been using these gloves in 100+ weather. They are super comfortable, and I feel like if I did go down, my hands and wrists would be well protected. Great Glove I purchased these to replace an early pair of SP-1s. I use them as my summer gloves. These new ones flow better than my old ones and I believe they fit better. I like the new palm pads and the pinky finger/ ring finger attachment. I hope these last as long as my last pair, which were good for the better part of a decade. Additionally, for a gauntlet glove they feel very light for the protection offered. Haven't tried out the protection quality and really don't want to either. August 31, 2015
SP-1 review Excellent fit, though it took getting used to wearing a heavier leather gloves over the less durable lower priced speed and strength gloves..only downside is not enough color options. August 24, 2015
A Stars=A+ I bought these gloves for track days which required gauntlet style gloves, and have been very pleased. This is my 4th pair of Alpinestars gloves and noticed they run slightly larger than most. I'm an XL in Alpinestars and this has some extra room in the fingers, but this actually makes them quite comfortable. Like always with Alpinestars, you get what you pay for, this is another great example. June 14, 2015
Great street glove for max protection and wrist support Tried these and the S-1 gloves. The S-1's where nice but run smaller than the SP-1's. Also the S-1 wrist closure was too flimsy for me compared to the SP-1 which is supposed to be gauntlet style. The SP-1's do have extra material on the wrist cuff but the "gauntlet" part is not big enough to tuck them outside the sleeves of my older Alpinestars B1 jacket. The "gauntlet" material is also not excessive so that they feel bulky. When they are wrapped up with the two velcro straps, they fit under the sleeves of my jacket just fine. The wrist portion of the glove gives some extra protection and also lightly braces / supports my wrists which I exactly what I wanted. Also there a very clever vent in between the knuckles and the cuff that is very flexible and improves the comfort of these gloves,. If you want a bit more protection and better wrist support than a short-cuff glove, I think you cant go wrong with the SP-1's. Overall the fit/finish is really great and after a short break-in they are fitting excellent. Also a bit more air flow than I expected which is great and I'm not using these for warmth in colder weather. I like more toned-down styling in general but in this case I took the red/white over the black, they are not over the top and the red/white parts really set off the glove nicely compared to all back. . A S asked: I know this isn't a waterproof glove, but would it hurt/damage it to ride in the rain? Oct 24, 2015

Jonathan G: I was caught once in heavy rain and they were soaked and very uncomfortable. At the time I already have worn them for more than 6 months. Water will damage the leather very easy if you you don't treat them well. By a set of waterproof you'll be thankful later. Oct 25, 2015

Rocky T: I've been caught in torrential rain and my gloves were completely soaked, but after hanging them to dry, the following day they were just fine. I wouldn't like these gloves to get that wet on a regular, but a few wet riding days shouldn't hurt. Nov 2, 2015
