The Alpinestars Racing Replica Suit is the highest-level Alpinestars suit available. Derived and developed from MotoGP technology, the Race Replica Suit can be retrofitted with Alpinestars advanced active protection technology – the Tech Air Airbag system – to provide the ultimate in rider safety. 

Constructed from extremely supple, super-premium 1.3mm full-grain leather for exceptional abrasion resistance and durability, with multiple-stitched main seams for maximum tear resistance and ultra-vented front panels for unsurpassed cooling while riding.

How To Measure

C Chest Measure around the fullest part of your chest, under the armpits, keeping the measuring tape parallel to the ground.
W Waist Measure around your natural waistline, around the top of the hip bones, inline with the navel while keeping the measuring tape parallel to the ground.
HP Hips Measure the circumference, from pelvic bone to pelvic bone, at the widest part of your hips below the waist.
I Inseam Measure from the highest point of your crotch down to your ankle, along your inner leg.
H Height With no shoes on, stand with your back against a wall and your feet together. Measure from the floor to the top of your head.
A Arm (Shoulder to Wrist) Standing up straight with your arms at your sides, measure from the Acromion or summit of your shoulder, down to your wrist bone, along the outside of the arm.
T Thigh Measure the circumference of your thighs at the widest point, while in a seated position, with your knees bent to a 90° angle.

Not Quite as Advertised (But Still Good) Let's get one thing out of the way before I comment on the suit. Every review I have read states that this is exactly the same suit worn by the pro riders on the Moto GP and WSBK grids. It is not. It is the same cut and design but there is one difference between what they wear and the consumer version - it is a major one and changes my view of the suit quite considerably. This suit is made from cowhide and the pro version is clearly made from kangaroo. This difference in materials negates the one big issue I have with the consumer version: weight. This suit is extremely thick and heavy. If Alpinestars had made this from kangaroo skin I would say the high price was justifiable. As it is, this is an extremely expensive and cumbersome one-piece when you could get kangaroo from several other manufacturers for $1000 less. Don't get me wrong. This is still a high quality suit. It flows air very well - even the accordion panels are perforated - and the finish is flawless. I went over it with the usual fine tooth comb upon receipt and could not find a stitch out of place. It comes with back and chest protectors (other manufacturers take note), the zippers are of the very high quality locking type and the suit feels reassuringly solid. There is an argument that cowhide has more longevity for every day riding and the extra thickness does contribute to the feeling of security. Also, in my experience Alpinestars customer service is better than the other brands operating in this area. The style doesn't float my boat as much as other Italian manufacturers and I'm not wild about aspects of the high end A-Stars boots and gloves which are the natural partners to this suit. Also, plastic hard parts look and feel low budget in a premium product such as this. This would have been my main suit but I just could not get away from how heavy and expensive it is. A kangaroo version at around the $2k price point would be a totally different proposition. August 17, 2014
Top of the line suit! I'm 6'2" and about 215 pounds, and a size 56 euro fits me perfectly with room for back and chest protectors. I had a Dainese Laguna Seca Pro in size 56, and that did not fit me well at all, too small. The suit is heavy as it is made of thick leather, and has a high quality feel to it. Protection speaks for itself, just YouTube Marc Marquez, Jorge Lorenzo, Danny Pedrosa, or many other MotoGP riders' crashes in this suit. This is the same suit they wear, minus the airbag. Alpinestars' customer service and warranty is much better than Dainese. My very first piece of motorcycle gear was an Alpinestars jacket and pants as a two piece. Went down on it and the zipper on the jacket's arm broke. Sent it to A* in LA, they fixed it and sent it back for a reasonable price, no questions asked. (Alpinestars has a zipper warranty, if it breaks without you crashing). When it came time to buy a 1 piece suit, I went with the Dainese Laguna Seca Pro. The zipper on the liner inside of the suit broke about 4 months after I bought the suit, and Dainese would not do anything about it, telling me instead to take it back where I bought it from. (Note that when I crashed in my A* gear they fixed it no questions asked, and Dainese wouldnt take care of a product that had a manufacturer defect which fell under their warrany). Needless to say, I am done with Dainese and am now an Alpinestars customer for life. July 29, 2013
baller. just absolutely awesome. best suit i've ever worn. full disclosure: i did not pay for this suit yet. i am using it for a video and will pay for it after if i decide to keep it. which i will! it is incredible, but the financial pain and bang-for-the-buck truth may rear it's ugly head later. so it is a tad on the toight side, but that's the deal with race leathers, right? the sleeves and legs weren't unbelievably short, as i have experienced in the past with my alpinestars jacket gp-r jacket and dainese race suits. the other italians make race suits for people with stunted limb growth (to be fair, i have freakishly long extremities, even for a 6'3" man with no muscle tone). in any case, the US 46 fit me like a glove -- except in the booty area, of course, while standing. the protection is unreal, it even caused me to ride around the local highways like a hooligan, at ridiculous speeds, in the rain. with the chest and back protectors in, you feel indestructible. the tech-air system probably takes that one step further, and i may purchase and add that before hitting the track. i will need to hit the gym before that, though, to fill out the calf and thigh areas of the suit, and so that i can try and grind down the knee sliders a little bit. suit is mad comfy though, really. will be interesting to see how it holds up in real heat, all day long. i'll check back in after a two-day track session at the end of the month.
