Worth the extra price for quality materials... Extremely comfortable on and off the bike....easy on and off. October 26, 2015
comfortable Great fit , little lose . good water and wind protection.very comfortable for long rides!!!! September 7, 2015
Durable and stylish I have had these boots for almost 2 years now and ware them almost everyday. I am a daily commuter, and wanted something that would look decent under a pair of jeans. I have been very impressed with these boots in the time I have had them. They offer good protection for riding and are okay to ware around a more progressive office. They however are not good for walking around, they are too heavy and hot, so you get tired of them quick. They also ware a size too big so watch out. Overall a good boot that has lasted two years and is still functional. They are a bit scuffed up, but give them a nice shoe shine and no one can tell. The soles are showing some signs of aging after a couple years of almost daily use, but they still have maybe another year on them. August 21, 2015
Good Boots Even in the heat these boots fare pretty well. Your feet will still definitely get a bit hot, but considered they're GTX, mostly un-ventilated boots, it's pretty good. I typically wear a size 9.5 boot, but I got a size 43 (says 9 in the boot) and it fits well. There is definitely room in the top to tuck pants in, which could be a plus or minus depending on what you're wearing and riding style. I like to wear mine over my boots, so I have to use most of the velcro available for tightening the top part of the boot. I personally don't like the fact it's solely velcro holding this boot closed. Solid feel while shifting. July 21, 2015
AWESOME!!!! I had ordered Dianese and TCX...they were very good, but still did not fit quite right. Sokrady had shown me this pair of AlpineStars...and my feet felt like they went from workboot to sneaker, they were that comfortable. On my first ride this season, after scraping my pegs (and my right heel) There was no visible wear...these are great boots...my advice, BUY THEM !!!! -Dave April 14, 2015
very happy Have about 7k on these boots now. Wanted something easy on and off for commute and weekend rides that would fit in my bags. Have ridden in heavy rain too many times to count and feet stay dry. Even around 40 degrees feet stay pretty warm and with smart wool socks not to hot in middle of summer. Very happy with them. I do plan to upgrade to something with a little more protection down the road, but no regrets on this purchase. March 9, 2015
Great fit and most inmportantly comfortable. Great fit and most importantly comfortable. Did not use in wet weather but I can say that in cold weather feet kept warm without any concerns. January 20, 2015
Perfect boots I love these boots they are not too tall and not too flashy. All black with no racing accents. Comfy, gore-tex, warm and they breath. Cheap too! They might lack in support depending how hard you ride. First bike boots I ever bought, they are gonna last a while. January 12, 2015

A shopper asked: I'm a little concerned with the use of all velcro, no zipper. Anyone comment on the durability of the velcro closure system on these boots? I've been evaluating them vs. the Dainese Nighthawk Gore-Tex boots which have the zipper, so wanted to get some feedback from anyone who have used the GTX boots over an extended period. Dec 28, 2013

Edward M: The velcro closure is the only aspect of the boot that I am less than satisfied with. I've had the boots for ~8 months, with perhaps 150 on/off cycles. There has been no noticeable degradation of the velcro thus far. It stays closed fine when riding, but the upper closure does sometimes come loose when walking, especially when going up stairs.

There is no problem with the lower strap. In fact, that works quite well, providing great adjust-ability for a custom fit; stays put once adjusted, and does not need to be redone with each on/off.

The plus side of the velcro closure is easy on/off and wide adjust-ability, especially as compared to a full zipper. It's a matter of trade-offs. While I wish the closure would stay put in all circumstances I think that this was the better choice for me vs zipper or laces.

I see that the Nighthawks are only a 3/4 zipper and also use a velcro closure at the top as well, so I'm not sure that they would perform better in this regard.

Otherwise, the boots are well made and quite comfortable, both on and off the bike. They breath adequately in summer and are still warm enough in the shoulder seasons. Add wool socks as temps trend to truly cold.

Michael K: I love them, especially because of the all velcro. I've had them for about 8-9 months now and they've held up really well and still look and function like new. They're very comfortable as well and easy to walk around in. They also provide great protection. I had a vehicle in front of me drive over a very large bolt on the freeway which was launched at my feet and I didn't feel any impact. Buy the, you won't regret it. Dec 28, 2013

Matthew L: I have only had the boots for 1 season. The velcro has been fine for me so far, after coninual use I have not had any sticking issue, or have any issue with the velcro wearing. Then again I have only had it for one season, however I did ride a lot and a lot of it was commuting so it involved putting my shoes on and off a lot. Dec 30, 2013

Thong L: i had a pairs for a lil over 6 months now and I wear them everyday. The Velcro r very solid and the shoes r super comfy. You can not go wrong with New Land GTX Boots. Good job Alpinestars . The Dainese r way too stiff and narrow. Apr 17, 2014

A shopper asked: Any idea if these are unisex? What size would be good for mens 8 1/2? Size up or down? Mar 9, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Myron G: First of all,, you have to understand these boots come in metric sizes, which you many or may not be aware of.

I wear a size 9 1/2 men's, in most footwear. When I went into the Philadelphia store to try on boots, the size that was most recommended to me, and what seemed to fit the best, was a metric size 43, which is what the chart on the Revzilla website recommends for a size 9/9.5. I've had the GTX's now for about 8 months and love them. The size 43 is a great fit on me. They are very comfortable, too.

The point is that they do seem to run a bit large. So, if you are a true 8 1/2, then a size 42 would be where I'd start. I think the 43 would be big on you.

Hope this helps.

Stephen G: I am a consistent 8 1/2 man's size. Euro size 42 is too small. I will re-buy a 43. About being unisex!! I think they would look fine on a lady. They are not heavy or clunky. Lodnirgs Mar 9, 2014

A shopper asked: Hi I wear a size 11 in US size which in some other boots is a 45, since there isn't a size chart for this particular boot is that the size I should wear? Apr 29, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
KiloAlphaTango: Probably OK. I wear a 10 in sports shoes, and a 9-1/2 in a dress shoe and ordered a Euro 45. They were huge on me. I replaced them with a Euro 44 (which Alpinestars says is a 9-1/2) and they are still large for a US 10, but tolerable (the right boot seems larger than the left).

I'd say a Euro 45 is good for a US 11, as you won't be walking much in them and you want good lever control. The toe area is boxy as well with a lot of room.

have to wear them over?

MikeJay: Totally works for me with Dainese kevlar jeans and RevIt leather/textile pants, with plenty of room left. The boots aren't bulky, if that's your concern. Maybe super skinny jeans would be an issue, but I guess this isn't what you are going to wear. Oct 16, 2014

Jeffrey T: normal boot cut jeans will go right over the boot and look nice. Peg leg or skinny jeans will not slide over the boot. Oct 15, 2014
