EXCELLENT Boots I have been looking for my first pair of boots for the last several months. I had tried 4 different pairs of boots and just couldn't get the right fit. I went to the Revzilla store and these were on display. I tried them on and it was like that moment you know this is what you are looking for. They fit great. They seem to run a little big which works in my favor. They are way more comfortable then I thought they would be. I have only had them about a month so I cannot speak to durability nor have I had them in the rain yet. Based on my experience thus far though, I HIGHLY recommend them. July 22, 2014
Excellent boots These were purchased for my wife to match some boots she use to have but just got worn out. She loves them, they don't flow air quite as well as her others but I have no idea what brand they were. Her feet have been dry in the few rain storms we got stuck in and dry is comfort. She has stated that they keep her from feeling more of the vibration on the Harley than the others, or just tennis shoes... like crocs but nothing like crocs.??? Good luck on your purchase! Great Waterproof Boot I bought these boots a few months ago and just had a chance to wear them on a 1000 mile trip. The first leg of the trip was pouring rain and only 37 degrees. I rode for 3 hours in the rain and my feet stayed warm and dry. I'm not sure how warm my feet will get in hot weather. I ride a 2011 R1200GS BMW and it has little protection for your feet in wet weather. May 20, 2014
Really good waterproof boot I just got them a month ago, but they have kept me dry in really, really heavy rain. They are comfortable and look good enough to wear around town. Walking is a little awkward, but you get used to it. May 12, 2014
Closure mechanism needs reengineering I had very high hopes for these boots. They fit nice, are not too stiff out of the box and break in well. What I don't like is the Velcro closure and adjustment mechanisms. I can just never get the boot tight enough in the ankle/calf area. At first I thought they might be too big, but they fit well in the foot pocket. I find it hard to believe these would stay on my feet in an accident. I am thinking of modifying the boot to add additional closure support around my ankles. May 5, 2014
Excellent Boots ! The boots fit perfect, excellent quality and warm. March 29, 2014
Great boot for the price! This boot was great for the price, well fitted and looks cool. Very pleased with my purchase! January 1, 2014
Great boot and very comfortable but keeping the boot closed is and issue. I have been wearing these boots everyday during my 28 mile commute to and from work in Houston Tx on the beltway at high speeds. The grip of the sole is perfect when setting my heavy BMW K1600GTL on its centerstand were a slip of the foot means a dropped motorcycle. Very comfortable to walk in; however, the velcro closure needs to be stronger to stay closed. The peg position on the GTL causes the boots to pop open when applying the foot brake or when placing the motorcycle on the centerstand. The velcro appears to be too fine in texture and not enough surface area to maintain closure of the boot. The overall quality and workmanship is excellent but the design needs to be improved. I may consider adding a secondary strap to address the closure issue. I usually wear a size 11.5 shoe and found the 11.5 GTX boots to be a size too large when they arrived. I had to return them for a 10.5 which fit perfectly in length but a bit too wide. November 26, 2013

A shopper asked: I'm a little concerned with the use of all velcro, no zipper. Anyone comment on the durability of the velcro closure system on these boots? I've been evaluating them vs. the Dainese Nighthawk Gore-Tex boots which have the zipper, so wanted to get some feedback from anyone who have used the GTX boots over an extended period. Dec 28, 2013

Edward M: The velcro closure is the only aspect of the boot that I am less than satisfied with. I've had the boots for ~8 months, with perhaps 150 on/off cycles. There has been no noticeable degradation of the velcro thus far. It stays closed fine when riding, but the upper closure does sometimes come loose when walking, especially when going up stairs.

There is no problem with the lower strap. In fact, that works quite well, providing great adjust-ability for a custom fit; stays put once adjusted, and does not need to be redone with each on/off.

The plus side of the velcro closure is easy on/off and wide adjust-ability, especially as compared to a full zipper. It's a matter of trade-offs. While I wish the closure would stay put in all circumstances I think that this was the better choice for me vs zipper or laces.

I see that the Nighthawks are only a 3/4 zipper and also use a velcro closure at the top as well, so I'm not sure that they would perform better in this regard.

Otherwise, the boots are well made and quite comfortable, both on and off the bike. They breath adequately in summer and are still warm enough in the shoulder seasons. Add wool socks as temps trend to truly cold.

Michael K: I love them, especially because of the all velcro. I've had them for about 8-9 months now and they've held up really well and still look and function like new. They're very comfortable as well and easy to walk around in. They also provide great protection. I had a vehicle in front of me drive over a very large bolt on the freeway which was launched at my feet and I didn't feel any impact. Buy the, you won't regret it. Dec 28, 2013

Matthew L: I have only had the boots for 1 season. The velcro has been fine for me so far, after coninual use I have not had any sticking issue, or have any issue with the velcro wearing. Then again I have only had it for one season, however I did ride a lot and a lot of it was commuting so it involved putting my shoes on and off a lot. Dec 30, 2013

Thong L: i had a pairs for a lil over 6 months now and I wear them everyday. The Velcro r very solid and the shoes r super comfy. You can not go wrong with New Land GTX Boots. Good job Alpinestars . The Dainese r way too stiff and narrow. Apr 17, 2014

A shopper asked: Any idea if these are unisex? What size would be good for mens 8 1/2? Size up or down? Mar 9, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Myron G: First of all,, you have to understand these boots come in metric sizes, which you many or may not be aware of.

I wear a size 9 1/2 men's, in most footwear. When I went into the Philadelphia store to try on boots, the size that was most recommended to me, and what seemed to fit the best, was a metric size 43, which is what the chart on the Revzilla website recommends for a size 9/9.5. I've had the GTX's now for about 8 months and love them. The size 43 is a great fit on me. They are very comfortable, too.

The point is that they do seem to run a bit large. So, if you are a true 8 1/2, then a size 42 would be where I'd start. I think the 43 would be big on you.

Hope this helps.

Stephen G: I am a consistent 8 1/2 man's size. Euro size 42 is too small. I will re-buy a 43. About being unisex!! I think they would look fine on a lady. They are not heavy or clunky. Lodnirgs Mar 9, 2014

A shopper asked: Hi I wear a size 11 in US size which in some other boots is a 45, since there isn't a size chart for this particular boot is that the size I should wear? Apr 29, 2013

Scott125: Order two sizes and return the ones that don't fit. That's what I did with the boots I purchased. Staff accommodated me with ease. May 21, 2013

KiloAlphaTango: Probably OK. I wear a 10 in sports shoes, and a 9-1/2 in a dress shoe and ordered a Euro 45. They were huge on me. I replaced them with a Euro 44 (which Alpinestars says is a 9-1/2) and they are still large for a US 10, but tolerable (the right boot seems larger than the left).

I'd say a Euro 45 is good for a US 11, as you won't be walking much in them and you want good lever control. The toe area is boxy as well with a lot of room.
