Great boot and very comfortable but keeping the boot closed is and issue.
I have been wearing these boots everyday during my 28 mile commute to and from work in Houston Tx on the beltway at high speeds. The grip of the sole is perfect when setting my heavy BMW K1600GTL on its centerstand were a slip of the foot means a dropped motorcycle. Very comfortable to walk in; however, the velcro closure needs to be stronger to stay closed. The peg position on the GTL causes the boots to pop open when applying the foot brake or when placing the motorcycle on the centerstand. The velcro appears to be too fine in texture and not enough surface area to maintain closure of the boot. The overall quality and workmanship is excellent but the design needs to be improved. I may consider adding a secondary strap to address the closure issue. I usually wear a size 11.5 shoe and found the 11.5 GTX boots to be a size too large when they arrived. I had to return them for a 10.5 which fit perfectly in length but a bit too wide.

Comfortable and great to walk in
Switching from a pair of timberlands into these boots i wouldn't be able to tell the difference walking around in them. The sizing is like that of Web goretex boots. The boots say they are a 9.5 but i usually wear a 10 or 10.5 in timberland boots and they fit perfect. My feet feel comfortably warm and i don't see myself ever complaining about my feet being to hot in them. Definitely worth the money.

Great boots for the price especially with GTX
I am very much enjoying these boots. I have put about a 1000 miles on them and they have been very comfortable. I have been very fortunate to have not hit any bad weather recently so i can not speak to rain protection as of yet but every other GTX lined boot i own does well so I assume these will be good too. I have a wider foot not a EEE or anything but not narrow and these boots have been great. I got them because I have larger calves and could not find anything to go around them. These go up past the ankle giving it protection but do not rise to far into the meat of the calve muscle. The only complaint i can think of is that they are a bit hard to get on and get tight. They could really use a pull tab for getting on in the back of the boot. Additionally there is not much to grab on to pull these tight to the velcro. its also awkward to do this on the left side of my ankle. I do not think they will fall off though. I recommend them.

Closure mechanism needs reengineering
I had very high hopes for these boots. They fit nice, are not too stiff out of the box and break in well. What I don't like is the Velcro closure and adjustment mechanisms. I can just never get the boot tight enough in the ankle/calf area. At first I thought they might be too big, but they fit well in the foot pocket. I find it hard to believe these would stay on my feet in an accident. I am thinking of modifying the boot to add additional closure support around my ankles.

Great Waterproof Boot
I bought these boots a few months ago and just had a chance to wear them on a 1000 mile trip. The first leg of the trip was pouring rain and only 37 degrees. I rode for 3 hours in the rain and my feet stayed warm and dry. I'm not sure how warm my feet will get in hot weather. I ride a 2011 R1200GS BMW and it has little protection for your feet in wet weather.

Great comfort, styling and fit!
I was looking for a waterproof, breathable, comfortable and stylish boot. The Alpinestar New Land GTX boot gets high marks in all those categories. Was a bit concerned about the fit when ordering but the sizing chart seems to be correct. If you need a wider size boot, these probably won't work for you. I particularly like the ease with which the boots go on and off with the velcro fastening system. Would not want to do any extended hiking in the boots because the sole is a little on the stiff side but for normal use, they are fine. Really like the shift pad on the boots... was getting tired of scuffing my regular shoes and boots with the shift lever. Keep in mind these are a fairly short topped boot, so if you are concerned about the breeze on your legs, you may want to consider a taller boot.

EXCELLENT Boots
I have been looking for my first pair of boots for the last several months. I had tried 4 different pairs of boots and just couldn't get the right fit. I went to the Revzilla store and these were on display. I tried them on and it was like that moment you know this is what you are looking for. They fit great. They seem to run a little big which works in my favor. They are way more comfortable then I thought they would be. I have only had them about a month so I cannot speak to durability nor have I had them in the rain yet. Based on my experience thus far though, I HIGHLY recommend them.

Everyday boot
I have been wearing these boots everyday since I got them. They are super comfortable and do not let your feet get wet when mother nature rains on the parade.

The only issue I have is they tend to squeak a bit when walking.

I love these boots they are not too tall and not too flashy. All black with no racing accents. Comfy, gore-tex, warm and they breath. Cheap too! They might lack in support depending how hard you ride. First bike boots I ever bought, they are gonna last a while.

Good boot for riding and work
I commute in New York City and have always liked a good boot given the dangers of the folks I have to share the road with. I am also a professional and need to have a boot that looks ok with a button down shirt and slacks. I have had several pairs of Alpine Stars over the years and really enjoy the GTX. They fit well and provide plenty of support when you need it after, for example, a hard stop and are easy to walk in and work in as well. They breath well. My only issue is the toebox is a bit smaller than my wide feet would like: but i have very wide feet so most people will be fine. An excellent boot for commuting in the urban jungle.

I wanted a waterproof boot for the summer months in New York, that are not as hot as my BMW All Arounds. Also Alpinestar is a highly respected brand in motorcycle gear.

I usually wear a 9.0 Nike Sneaker, will the 43 in this boot be way to big? Should I risk going with the 42 (8), seeing how most say the sizing runs on the large side?

Thank You.
Ryan J on Dec 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I wear a size 8 1/2 size shoe. I ordered size 42 and it is too small I should have a 43.
I'm a little concerned with the use of all velcro, no zipper. Anyone comment on the durability of the velcro closure system on these boots? I've been evaluating them vs. the Dainese Nighthawk Gore-Tex boots which have the zipper, so wanted to get some feedback from anyone who have used the GTX boots over an extended period.
A shopper on Dec 28, 2013
BEST ANSWER: The velcro closure is the only aspect of the boot that I am less than satisfied with. I've had the boots for ~8 months, with perhaps 150 on/off cycles. There has been no noticeable degradation of the velcro thus far. It stays closed fine when riding, but the upper closure does sometimes come loose when walking, especially when going up stairs.

There is no problem with the lower strap. In fact, that works quite well, providing great adjust-ability for a custom fit; stays put once adjusted, and does not need to be redone with each on/off.

The plus side of the velcro closure is easy on/off and wide adjust-ability, especially as compared to a full zipper. It's a matter of trade-offs. While I wish the closure would stay put in all circumstances I think that this was the better choice for me vs zipper or laces.

I see that the Nighthawks are only a 3/4 zipper and also use a velcro closure at the top as well, so I'm not sure that they would perform better in this regard.

Otherwise, the boots are well made and quite comfortable, both on and off the bike. They breath adequately in summer and are still warm enough in the shoulder seasons. Add wool socks as temps trend to truly cold.
Never had motorcycle boots before, my usual size is EU 42 (some times 43 when the shoe is not too wide) - which size do you think I should get for these boots?
A shopper on May 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Your best bet is to call Revzilla and talk to their experts. I actually exchanged the Alpine Stars for Dainese after talking to the folks at Revzilla. The Dainese fit my narrow foot better. I think you will find riding in motorcycle boots is a good idea. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
How are these in 80,90 degree weather? I have hot athletes foot issues with regular work boots need 1 pair of good 3 season boots, thanks
A shopper on Oct 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have not had any issues in the oklahoma summer, its all i ride with on my vtx 1800. Not any hotter than the rest of me and comfortable enough to walk around in. Great boot year round. Best is the sole , it hardley ever slips at stops. Highly recomended. Got the eqivilent to size 12, put some arch supprts for my feet and perfect.
Any idea if these are unisex? What size would be good for mens 8 1/2? Size up or down?
A shopper on Mar 9, 2014
BEST ANSWER: First of all,, you have to understand these boots come in metric sizes, which you many or may not be aware of.

I wear a size 9 1/2 men's, in most footwear. When I went into the Philadelphia store to try on boots, the size that was most recommended to me, and what seemed to fit the best, was a metric size 43, which is what the chart on the Revzilla website recommends for a size 9/9.5. I've had the GTX's now for about 8 months and love them. The size 43 is a great fit on me. They are very comfortable, too.

The point is that they do seem to run a bit large. So, if you are a true 8 1/2, then a size 42 would be where I'd start. I think the 43 would be big on you.

Hope this helps.
Hi I wear a size 11 in US size which in some other boots is a 45, since there isn't a size chart for this particular boot is that the size I should wear?
A shopper on Apr 29, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Probably OK. I wear a 10 in sports shoes, and a 9-1/2 in a dress shoe and ordered a Euro 45. They were huge on me. I replaced them with a Euro 44 (which Alpinestars says is a 9-1/2) and they are still large for a US 10, but tolerable (the right boot seems larger than the left).

I'd say a Euro 45 is good for a US 11, as you won't be walking much in them and you want good lever control. The toe area is boxy as well with a lot of room.
Never had motorcycle boots before, my usual size is EU 42 (some times 43 when the shoe is not too wide) - which size do you think I should get for these boots?
A C on May 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Order a size up, I have the same issue in shoes and boots for width so ordered one size up and they fit great! Nice boot for sport touring easy on and off and feet did not get cold even at 28F. Havent used them in the rain yet so not sure how good they will work being mid height boot.
I wanna wear this boots covered by the pants, is it possible or you
have to wear them over?
A shopper on Oct 15, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Totally works for me with Dainese kevlar jeans and RevIt leather/textile pants, with plenty of room left. The boots aren't bulky, if that's your concern. Maybe super skinny jeans would be an issue, but I guess this isn't what you are going to wear.
