Great! I really love these shoes! They feel good on your foot and they are light, you can wear them as sneakers. I drive to work, work for 10 hours ( I walk on asphalt, back and forth all day ) and then drive home. All this without getting the feeling of my feet dying. The only thing i regret is that i didnt buy the WP version, since the weather changes so fast i Norway... May 13, 2013
Great shoe for casual riding This shoe worked perfect for the reason I purchased it. I wanted a shoe to ride casually to school and around town, but something that offers a little more protection than just normal sneakers. This shoe is perfect for that. I wouldn't recommend it for anything else but that. Protection is minimal but better than normal shoes. It looks like it would hold up going down at around town speeds but not freeway speed. Shoe is stylish and comfortable. I can wear them all day with no problem. Shoe fits true to size. I wear 10.5-11 depending on the shoe. I purchased a 10.5 because everyone said there is a little extra room in the toes. I did not feel that extra room. It fit me a tiny bit short but not uncomfortable enough to pay the shipping fee to return. Over all great shoe for casual riding. May 12, 2013
Alpinestars Joey Canvas Shoes style , fit , comfort all great , I usually wear a 10 wide , had to go to a 10.5 to fit , I really like them , I think they are a little on the narrow side and run true to size or a little small in length April 29, 2013
Great fit and comfort with style. Great product. Fits true to size. Great looking and very stylish. The only down fault is there is little traction so be careful on wet pavement and road stripes while at stops on bike. April 29, 2013
cool sneaker Overall I like the look of the sneaker. It has a classic look to it and great details. In terms of protection, it is a step above a normal sneaker like a converse chuck taylor. But the protection will not compare to a real riding shoe/boot. I have a pair of the Joey WP and was involved in an accident with them. I got a bad bruise on my lower shin. Had I been wearing my typical riding boots the injury on my lower shin wouldn't have occured. I did not have any injuries or abrasions to my feet so maybe the joey WP shoe did perform well. The Joey vs the Joey WP. The Joey WP is made of a thicker material that has suede feel to it. The Joey is canvas. I feel the Joey WP is better in terms of abrasion durability. I will only use the Joey non-water proof shoes as a sneaker only. Expensive for a sneaker but they are a very comfortable. April 15, 2013
Excellent shoe No Regrets I purchased the black, grey, and red version, and man are they sweet!! I've always liked the "Converse" style shoe, but have never owned a pair. The high-top fit adds a lot of support to your ankle. However, you'll have to wear a pair of taller socks to keep the shoes from rubbing. My only other complaint is the lack of cushion in the sole. These shoes are a little thin, but I'd imagine its an easy fix with some gel inserts. After consulting my little brother, who wears skate shoes and converses, he confirmed that these issues just simply come with the style. That being said, I still love these shoes. The fit is very close to true to size. I wear 10.5 and ordered 10.5 and there's just a little extra at the toe, but not enough that I would go a smaller size. I love the sturdy heel support, excellent on the bike. Love the look on the bike. They match really well with my new Icon Anthem Gloves. No regrets here. April 7, 2013
Stylish and Comfortable! These shoes are lightweight and nicely padded without being bulky. There is no need to change upon reaching your destination because you can wear these all day. I am very pleased with the amount of protection they offer considering they are a shoe and not a boot. This is perfect for the riding I like to do since I don't do track days nor am I interested in riding at speeds that will cause me to lose my license. I bought them a half size smaller than my normal shoe size and they fit perfect. They are expensive, but I would buy them again. March 31, 2013
This product Is great for a on and off the bike shoe! I Love these boots. I purchased a pair of the Joeys because I wanted a boot I could wear on and off the bike, and this fit the bill perfectly. Pros: It is Comfortable! I wear them all day to class, and have no problems walking around. The Protection is surprisingly good! these boots feel solid, They would actually provide protection in a fall. They are incredibly breathable. Perfect for hot summer days, while riding you feel the airflow through your entire shoe. That being said even when its colder (40F in my exp) they will keep your feet warm. Not "Waterproof" but definitely water resistant, had a dry foot after riding in the rain. Styling!!!! The entire reason I got these is because they look just like vans under a pair of jeans. They are great for a vintage look. Cons I really don't have any... they may be a bit bulky but not much more then a pair of vans. These really are great. March 25, 2013

Are the laces normal laces or are they strengthend some how so they dont bust open in a accident?

The Alpinestars Joey Shoes have normal laces. They are not reinforced in anyway.
