Alpinestars GPX Gloves 4.6 5 52 52
Alpine GPX Gloves I have always used A*'s gear, mainly short cuff, blended material gloves. I switched to the GPX for the all-leather construction and extra protection provided by wrist guard and fourth and fifth finger bridge. This is an excellent glove for three season riding as it provides adequate ventilation on hot days. I was worried that the extra wrist guard would eliminate the short cuff feel, but there is enough room to still wear a large wrist watch. I decided to switch to all leather because the old summer gloves that I was wearing had a synthetic suede that frayed and became extremely worn after one year. I highly recommend this glove; just be aware that the fit is slightly smaller since it is all leather construction. I wear a large in all A*'s gloves, so I ordered a large in the GPX--it took about 30 riding hours before the glove was broken in and it now fits perfectly. The glove does have exceptional grip almost to the point to where the throttle position remains the same during front brake application. I have to remove my hand completely from throttle while breaking to avoid engine revolutions during breaking. Recommended product. November 23, 2015
Best glove available at this price point. I bought a pair of these two years ago when they were a new model and just replaced them with the same glove. I think that is the best endorsement I can give them. I ride a lot and wore the GPXs pretty much full time for commuting, touring, and weekend adventures with no issues. The palms of my older pair started to deteriorate from general wear and tear and getting wet more than a few times in South FL where I live. They could flow more air, but I'll take more protection in a get off over ventilation every time. Money well spent for a detailed high protection glove that is comfortable to wear. I have worn a medium glove from other manufacturers but in the Alpinestars I wear a large so you may want to go up a size. November 16, 2015
Solid gloves Awesome Gloves. They started out a little snug but once they wore in they fit perfectly. So comfortable now. They feel very durable! Can't comment on protection as I haven't had to use them for that. November 16, 2015
Very Nice Gloves with Good Protective Features I bought these a couple months ago and have used them on every ride since ! I bought an XL pair in black. They are a good fit but I normally wear a L in gloves. The XL's have been comfortable with no hand fatigue. They are a just a touch warm during the high temps of summer but cool nicely while riding. And just a bit cool with temps below 50. The gloves have several protective features such as: reinforced flap over outer wrist bone, double layers of leather and foam on all impact points, ballistic (plastic) over the knuckles, and the ring and pinky fingers are sewn together. A few stitches have loosened but no holes yet. Perhaps a tiny bit pricey but I purchased these for the added protection (hope I never use!) and I'd say they've delivered. Overall, pretty darn good ! Good gloves and worth the price Good gloves. Good price. Brian at the Philly shop was unbelievably helpful in getting me sorted out for gear including these. October 26, 2015
lots of cool features The fit for my hand and finger length are good, if a tad snug, but some break-in will help that. New, the wrist opening is quite tight and will likely take additional break-in, but has relaxed already. A lot of cool features like the sliders and additional wrist pad as stated in the video review. I expect this to hold up as well as previous alpinestars gloves I have worn. October 20, 2015
glove review Excellent gloves extremely durable comfortable. They seem to run a little small so if you are unsure about size step up one size October 20, 2015
Excellent Gloves! I have had these gloves for a few months now and love them. FITMENT: these gloves do run small. I normally wear a medium glove, but when I tried them on I found they were super tight. When I gripped my handle bars I could feel my heartbeat in my hands! I exchanged them for a size large which fit much better. They require a bit of effort to get on, but when you are wearing them they are perfect! PROTECTION: These things have all the right features.. palm sliders, low side protection on the outer edge of your hand, solid knuckle protection, joined pinky and ring finger, plus kangaroo palm.. Bottom line: the only reason I would change up from these gloves is if I decide to switch to a full length gauntlet style glove. The price you pay is well worth it. If you're thinking about getting these, do it! You won't regret it. October 10, 2015

sharleen b: had the previous model and it worked perfectly. point to note though is this new model seems to run a bit small due to external stitching perhaps. i bought my usual size medium and the fingers are a bit short causing my finger tips to go numb. a size up seems like i would solve my problem. Howard B: The GPX gloves have worked well for me. I purchased another set since the first set was a little snug. According to the size chart I should have been a large, but I usually wear XL gloves. I ordered both on the recommendation of the Revzilla staff that I spoke to. The XL fit better than the large so I kept those. However, I have large hands and I found that the XL was a bit tight and hard to get on my right hand particularly. Ordered to 2SL to solve that problem. Great Glove otherwise. Jan 22, 2015
Scott L: Because of their great looks and protective features...they're awesome! Jan 5, 2015

Carlos R: anthony's review on them. Jul 6, 2014
Abdulla A: Looks great, price seemed good enough (specially with 10$ in revzilla cash I had!) leather with perforation, palm slider which is a must IMO, and of course good reviews, hopefully I'll review it when I use it enough to have a solid opinion, but up till now it's been great Jun 26, 2014

Nnamdi N: I like the look and it looks like it will protect well. Mar 27, 2014

DeAndre B: I don't know anything about the sp-x.. But I can tell you that the gpx flows great air n has good protection where it's needed. . The air flow so good that my hands hardly sweat at all.. Dec 20, 2013

A shopper asked: How is the fit on these gloves? im 6 feet tall and weigh 160 lbs,my hand measurement was 3 5/8", but i have heard that these gloves fit rather small and I should order one size up, is this true?

Jorge C: I am 5'7" and weight 185. I have average hands. Not small or big just average in my opinion. I owned two leather alpine gloves and after the break in period the medium was perfect for me. So when I order the gpx I stuck with medium. My hand measures 3 1/2". If you have fat fingers or long ones maybe a large would be better. If you have a motorcycle store around your city, they usually carry some alpine gloves and you can go and try different sizes before ordering. I recommen the gpx awesome gloves and very comfortable. Jon R: My hands have similar measurements to yours and I ordered a Large (normally, I'm a Medium or kind of in between Medium and Large). As others have pointed out, these are known to run slightly small (if I remember right, it is mentioned in the review video as being a common trait of A-stars gloves), and this is what prompted me to go ahead and get the Large. They fit well. Feb 25, 2014

Ricardo L R Barros R: Yes, my last Dainese gloves for example were XL and this one I had to buy XXL.

And It fits a little bit tight.

Dainese it is definately the best brand for me and my type of body.

I am 6,3, 220 and my hand it is 3,5

Rob H: I'm 5'8 145 I've always been a medium glove size in all my gear so I got a L but I think they're a little tight I should've gotten the XL. Otherwise the gloves are pretty sick. Feb 25, 2014

A shopper asked: Is this glove good in spring and fall riding in canada? where the temperatures touch the near o°C/32°f at the beginning and ending of the riding season? Aug 29, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Peter T: I use these gloves in late spring and all summer into the middle of the fall.I live in New York and I commute most everyday from Queens to Manhattan 30 miles round trip. The GPX's flow alot of airand keep my hands comfortable. They still sweat, but not as much as with gauntlets.I personally would wear them down to a temperature in the high 40's-low 50 degree F range.BTW I bought two pairs ,black/white and red/white/blue.They look good and match all my riding gear! Linda S: These gloves are awesome for average temps and higher. I was using them with inner glove liners in 30 deg F and my fingers were going numb (doing 80mph on the highway for 35 minutes or so). Not great for keeping your fingers warm tho. Aug 29, 2015
Reply to Linda Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Michael Y: Agree with the other riders. I commute in NYC as well and once it gets into late fall (around 40-50 fahrenheit), they get pretty cold riding at highway speeds. I wouldn't recommend them for fall riding in Canada. Oct 1, 2015

Mitchell F asked: I was only able to try on the celer gloves at my local shop and was an XXL, the reviews for that glove say it runs really small. Would I still be an XXL in the gpx or since my hand measures right at about 4" should I go for the XL? May 6, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Wise C: Ive never tried the celer, at my local shop I tried on an A stars glove but it was more of a gauntlet style. The large fit a little snug so when i purchased the GPX I ordered a large knowing that overtime the leather would loosen up a bit. Ive had the gloves for about 3 months now, and im happy with them, they fit just fine now that they are broken in, and they get good airflow. Hope this helps, ride safe. May 8, 2014

A shopper asked: I'm about to get these, but I want to get the sizing right. I was able to wear the celer gloves in my local shop and was a XXL, should I stick with XXL or go down a size? I ask b/c the reviews on the celer gloves say they run small. May 6, 2014

Jim W: I really like the gloves, they are excellent for 55 degrees and up. They do run small, I typically wear XL in Alpinestars gloves and these in XL were initially a little tight. After a few long rides the leather stretched and are much more comfortable now. The added protection on the wrist area is a nice touch for a short glove. May 6, 2014

Gary S: I usually wear a XL, but these gloves seem to run small. I had a pair of XL sent out, and they were too small. But no worries, free shipping back made it easy to return and get a XXL. MUCH better now! May 6, 2014

B K asked: Is this glove best fit under or over your jacket? I have an aspide jacket which is pretty tight around the wrist. Mar 23, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Jonathan T: it fits under your jacket. i tried fitting it outside, its short, after you move around maybe half of it will go back in leaving the other half stuck outside. quite uncomfortable that way.
and the only closure velcro doesnt "feel" as safe around the outside.
i just leave the padding part(with logo) outside of the jacket. it feels perfect that way. very comfortable! and tons of airflow during summer.
if your jacket is very tight around the wrist, the only thing is you'll have to tuck in the velcro when you put it on(only takes 1 finger and about 2 seconds to do so), not like the full gloves you can just slap it on and go.

jimmy v: I have two textel jackets and the sleeve hangs right above my palm. So in my case I usually wear the gloves under the sleeve.
If I wear the gloves over the jacket bunches up only when I'm at a red light. In a sport bike riding position I dont really notice much of a problem.
Over all I like wearing it under. I mostly ride when its good weather so I'm not to worried about wind going up my sleeve.

Peter R asked: i know this has been answered a few times, but not sure im getting this correct..
I measured my right hand as per the Alpinestars measurement guide..it measurs roughly 3.5", making me a medium...am, i to go up a size to large as suggested, as this chart is incorrect, or should I go with the actual size..not clear what is correct?
Jan 3, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Nicolas G: Buy one size larger than those you buy in american brands as Icon. When buying one size larger, the with is OK and the fingers are very long (in fact, compared to other Alpinestars gloves, these have longer fingers). Jan 5, 2015
Reply to Nicolas Good answer? Yes (0) No (1)
Peter R: Thanks Nicolas.. Wonder why everyone gravitated towards Alpinestars if they're an awkward "brand", and weird sizing and long fingers..doesn't make me feel great about buying these..
Thing is, I usually wear a medium, in other brands, but according to the Alpinestars glove size chart, I am still a medium??
Am I just to assume, from what everyone's saying, that the guide chart is wrong? and that I need a "size up" from what it's suggesting?
I'm really not trying to sound like a dunce, just trying to comprehend. Thanks Jan 5, 2015
