Alpinestars Carver Race Suit
Awesome suit for a great price
I got this suit for $600 on clearance. I think the black white red color combo looks really good. I'm 6' 155lbs and I got a size 50. It's pretty tight but that's how they are supposed to be and they will break in a little bit too. Your going to want to get some kind of base layer and back protecter as well. Without the base layer it's hard to get in and out of if your sweaty.

The suit that fit like a glove
I didn't orignally go out looking for a alpinestar I wanted a cortech. I tried on the cortech, dainase, cycle gear brand suit, alpinestar and many other brand of suits. I can say that the best bang for the buck was the Alpinestar, it was true to their size. My build is 130 lbs and I'm 5'5 so I'm a lot smaller than most riders so finding a suit that would fit me was difficult. The cortech was more of a american size build, very tall and kind of bulky. All the pucks was out of location and was to much extra space in the suit. It also just felt cheaply made. The alpinestar was amazing it fit like a glove I had to pull the suit together just to zip the suit up all the pucks fit in the right spot and made me feel like a knight in armor. If your looking for a good suit to take to the track or canyon I would highly suggest this suit.

Awesome for trackdays without spending your bank
I picked this up on closeout for $599.99 shipped as I was looking for something to wear for trackdays and spirited street riding. The suit fits true to size and leaves just enough room to move around in without being constrictive. Obviously, leather loosens as it wears so if you order true to your size and break it in and keep it conditioned/cleaned it will fit like a glove. The only downside is the elbows and shoulders are not as protected as more expensive suits. The leather is great quality and the preferation flows enough air to keep your cool on the track. I would highly recommend this for the $ but if you are looking for something serious for all out racing it might be a little too budget-minded.

Choose A Better Suit
I purchased the Carver 1 piece a couple of months ago to replace an old suit I’ve had for many years. The initial fit of the Carver was tight, but I felt that was good considering that I wear a back protector. Being that I ride in So. California, the suit offered great ventilation and comfort while carving the canyons in the Carver. However, a true evaluation can only be achieved when the suit can be tested for what it was designed for ……protection. Shortly after I bought the suit, I lowsided as a result of gravel being on the roadway. To my disappointment, the Alpinestars Carver 1 piece did not live up to the expectations set by the company as the slide was only about 25 feet. As a result of the lowside, a medium sized hole ripped open in the hip area and on the sleeve, the Alpine logo was rubbed off. For the price, I expected better protection from a premium company like Alpinestars.

Nice suit but needs better liner
Been riding in this suit for about three months now at the track and on the twisties in the mountains around Mt. Fuji, Japan. Suit has good ventalation but may be too cool for late season or winter rides. Fit is good but be sure to use the fitment guide. Protection is pretty good but could use a bit more rib, back and chest protection. Only problem I have with the suit is that the liner is not well attached to the suit inside the sleeves. When ever I take off the suit the liner sleeves pull out of the sleeves and I've got to push them back in each time. It's good to be able to remove it if you want to wash it but it needs more or better velcro to attach the liner to the suit at the wrists. Overall, I'm pleased with the suit and would recommend.

Great Suit, fits true, worth the money
First off, this is my first suit so I don't really have much to compare it to so take this with a grain of salt.
The suit looks great, you can tell that from the pictures and I often get asked about it or complimented on how nice it looks. The leather and stitching are of high quality.
I'm a 5'10" Italian guy and the Euro size 50 fits me like a glove; Alpinestars sizing chart is dead on. It's important to remember that if you're using this on the track often you'll want it to be a tight fit, you don't want the suit rolling on your body parts in a crash so it should be a tight fit. If you're more of a road warrior it may be a good idea to go a size up so you're more comfortable in less aggressive racing positions.
This is AStars entry level suit so it does have a done of bells and whistles but what it does have is effective and works. There are plenty of pads and protections points on the suit as well as lots of ventilation (watch the video for more details). You can fit the chest protectors as well as a back protector in the suit. Replaceable knee pucks and the liner is washable.
The suit is quite comfortable considering how tight it fits although I do have a complaint, the suit is a bit uncomfortable in the knee area especially after you've started sweating. If you are going to be wearing this in hot conditions I highly recommend getting the warm weather undersuit AStars offers. It will make the suit much more comfortable and easy to remove once you've sweat in it a lot. If you have ever tried taking off a leather suit once you've been to the track, you'll know what I'm talking about.
The suit does offer decent airflow but I wouldn't say it's anything to get excited about; it was built for protection not airflow. Suit fits perfect with my SMX Plus boots and SP2 Gloves.

way too overpriced
The bottom line is, for half the price, may be its worth it.
My previous suite I bought was Alpinestars SP-1, for 649USD. That suit has better protection (knees, shoulders, heaps) albeit more heavy. The insides (the thin material) is stitched better in SP-1, shoulder inserts sit better and don't shift around.
The only better thing is breath-ability, may be. (because of thinner leather?)
Do yourself a favor, don't rush buying this suit for this price. May be look at Teknic for the same price too.
