Pretty good, weird sizing
Pretty decent suit for the money. Haven't gone shiny side down with it yet but will let you know if I do.
Slightly concerning is the sizing. I was bang on for a 44 according to the size chart but I tried on an alpine stars one piece in a store and I was a 46. Couldn't get a 44 jacket over my shoulders. So I went 46. Jacket seemed perfect but pants were a bit baggy. After a few rides they've gotten a little baggier with stretching. Still an adequate fit but think I should've gone 44 and just tried to stretch the jacket in. Not sure. Definitely a suit for the pear shaped out there.
Overall happy with the suit though. Comfortable, decent leather, seems to be decent quality stitching.

Great beginner suit!
I'm 6'5" 180 lbs and ordered a 48. Should have gotten a 50. Suit is great from crotch to shoulder, but I need another inch in the arms and in the legs. I went small but don't regret it, I hate a baggy fit. My boots and gloves more than make up the difference

Well worth the price
I recently started riding more and had looked at buying leathers for a long time. When I saw the Carver two piece on close out I knew it was time. I chose the two piece simply because the option to use the jacket on its own was appealing.
My only gripe is I have had to adjust how I ride because of the hump. My helmet bumps against it occasionally but it is a minor issue. Plus I am in the market for a new helmet anyway.

value for money
I bought this suit as a Xmas gift for my fiancé. I went by the size chart but it was completely off, we had to send it back and get 2 sizes bigger, other than that he loves the suit. And it looks HOT on him :)

First race suit, like it
Needed something for a track day and got this because I can unzip the pants and use the jacket for street riding. Did the measurements as shown and when on the edge of one size went up. Fit perfect. Tight but everyone says thats how it should be. Went riding and its way more comfortable riding than standing. I did not get as hot as I thought I would, must be some good air flow. Good quality. Heavy but its leather so thats good.

best 2 piece for the money
pros: saved me when I hit a greasy spot on the dragons tail. It was a low side at 45mph. No tears in the suit and it still looks great.
cons: velcro on the neck doesnt stay, and the zippers on the sleves come unzipped if you are not wearing gauntlets.
overall the suit offers alot of variety

Jeremy B:The sizing on the chart is pretty accurate. Get the size that you would normally wear. Take measurements of your body. That's what I did. It is great. I wear the jacket all the time. The pants are more race wear than casual. Perfect for weekend warriors. Take the measurements, compair them to the chart and get it. You'll love it. Aug 24, 2014
Scott H:I'm not exactly your size, 182cm and 180, but a Euro size 54 fits me nicely. Based on the size chart, I should be a 52, but I got a 54 because the reviews say the suit runs a little small.May 29, 2014
Jeremy B:I'm not sure about euro sizing. I will say that the measurements are very close. Use the sizing chart and order the size that fits you. It's a great purchase by the way. Everything a weekend warrior will ever need. May 29, 2014
A shopper asked:Hey, I plan to eventually do a track day and I have questions about the fit and versatility of this two piece.
For the fit, i'm a 5' 9'' and a half guy at 170-180, with a 40-42 chest. My jean size is a 33-32 and my inseam is a 32-33 as well. What options do you suggest that I choose for sizes?
As versatility goes, I plan to rock a more relaxed textile jacket, but wish to use the pants for spirited riding. However, once in a blue moon I may choose the leather jacket as a stand alone and wonder if it is truly long enough to cover over jeans.
Finally how's the suit on a mid summer's day around the 80-90 temperature range?
Nubbs:I'd say try out a 40 or 42. I got a 44 and it fits me perfectly (6'1", 180 lbs, 32" inseam, 32" waist, 42" chest). I have the one piece version of the Avro and it fits great; I just rode Summit Point Main last weekend as well as NJMP Thunderbolt and both days were 90+ degrees and extremely humid. The suit did well as far as ventilation and keeping me cool but I'd recommend an undersuit to help wick the sweat away also. Hope this helps.May 31, 2012
Jason C asked:Need an opinion on sizing as there's no where close by to me that I can try on Alpinestar's race leathers;
- 6'-0' @ 174lbs, slim, athletic build (basically fairly tall and skinny) - Chest, waist, and hip measurements put me at a size 48 - Pant size and thigh measurements put me at a size 50 - Inseam, arm length and height put me at a size 52
Split in the middle and go a size 50? The only thing I've been able to try on a was a Dianese Laguna 1-piece in a 52 but it was too tight in my crotch area haha, needed to be longer.May 26, 2014
Derek C asked:Hi, I'm 5'10 jean size 28-29 around 130lb, slim build. Will a size 48/38 be okay for me? I'm worried about the height being too short and the waist being too big. How well does a size 50 fit?
Jeremy B:It fits me pretty good. I'm 6'5" and 300+- the jacket is a little tight around the middle but its better that way. The sizing chart is very accurate. I recommend this suit. It's perfect for the occasional usage. Apr 23, 2014
