Akrapovic Exhaust System Yamaha FZ09

The Akrapovic "Racing Line" is a complete high-quality stainless steel exhaust system made from conical tubes with precision handcrafting and attention to detail. Its unique design enables it to obtain the maximum output for the signature triple cylinder engine of the Yamaha FZ-09, while significantly reducing overall weight for top performance in everyday riding or even in most demanding races.

It’s not just about peak power, Akrapovic exhaust systems deliver increased performance throughout the entire rpm range. Increased power and torque result in a much smoother ride.

Note: Please check local laws before purchasing. Some modifications may be prohibited in some states. Titanium - Racing option is EC approved.

BRAAAAAAAAP!! POP BURBLE BURBLE BURBLE POP POP! This exhaust made the bike 100x more attractive. Biggest shop in MN said this is the best sounding bike they have ever heard. Hands down I would buy this if it was twice as much. Fit and Finish is perfect. The sound clips and videos don't do this product justice at all. If you're on the edge about getting this, pull the trigger. You will never regret it. July 11, 2014
Best exhaust for the FZ-09! Forget all the other systems for the Fz-09, this is the only one designed with the bike in mind. All the other systems use their proprietary generic muffler attached to new piping, leaving the exhaust protruding from the side, unlike the titanium Akra and stock exhaust. Installation was easy and straightforward. Included instructions are very clear. If you plan on removing the silencer, do it before installing the muffler. Remove the set screw, then use a long pipe to tap it out from the inside. May 30, 2014

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
lawrence b: I chose carbon fiber. It looks good and appears to be tuned for ultimate performance. Mar 26, 2014
A shopper asked: Since the Akrapovic titanium has a catalytic converter does fuel system need to be remapped ? May 31, 2014

zach h: The catalytic convertor is an add on to the titanium exhaust. With or without the CC you DO NOT need to do a remap or even need a power commander. The akropovic exhaust was made to work perfectly with stock map. May 31, 2014

Alfred C: The catalytic converter is a$100 option. I purchased and installed a Dyna jet V.when the pipe was installed. The end cap has a tack weld in it too so you have to release that before you can run the pipe without the tri cap. I left it in place. I'm looking for a better air filter too but none are available as of today. Jun 2, 2014

Jonathan F: It does NOT ship with a catalytic converter. It is sold separately.

General advice: any time you alter the amount of air going in to or out of an engine, fueling should be addressed accordingly.

A shopper asked: Why are the Dyno charts different? And specifically, why does the Titanium dyno chart have a big drop off @ ~3krpm compared to the Carbon chart which doesn't? Jul 14, 2014

Kirk B: The Ti and Carbon exhausts from Akra are completely different designs, it is not just about the materials used. The Ti version is the closest to stock and has a larger and more muffled can. It is approved for street use in the EU and does not require fueling adjustments. On the other hand, the carbon one is deemed the "race" system and is tuned entirely for performance rather than being street legal.

If you want understated looks and slightly louder sound - go with the Ti version.

If you want added performance and wicked sound - go with the Carbon version.
