AFX FX-140 Modular Helmet
New motorcyclist in early 2012. This was a good choice for a starting helmet. Sub $300 mark: excellent choice.
I read reviews, before buying this helmet, that said some customers sent the helmet back because the sun-glass visor warped one's vision a bit, and I believe that one person said that "It felt like it was ripping my ears off."
As for the sun-glass visor, they're correct in that it is not perfect. It has a slight inconsistency in the way it lets light through, of which took a little to get used to. However, it took about 10 minutes before it didn't bother me anymore. It's a very handy feature for a person who wears prescription glasses. If you know you want perfection, go for the $300+ mark and save yourself the time.
With the "... ripping my ears off." comment: there is also some truth to this. I've noticed that other full-faced, but non-modular, helmets are built to let the ears pass the cheek guarding portion of the helmet with little, to no, effort. The cheek guards are more form-fitting on this helmet, and I have learned that if I put the helmet on while pulling slightly outwards on the cheek guards, I have no problem getting my ears in comfortably. The face shield DOES HAVE TO BE OPEN to put the helmet on, at least in my experience.
I bought this helmet according to the sizing guide, and it does fit a little snug, but I like that. The chin strap works very well for me, though it started out too long. I was able to cut it to size, and keep it from fraying by melting the very end with some short swoops of a lighter's flame.
By the way, I got the White version, and I take loving pride in the fact that others have observed that I look like a "New Age Storm Trooper."

OK if you have a narrow face and don't have a chin
The Revzilla video review is fairly accurate. On top of that, here is some additional info.
The inside materials that touch the face are on the rough side (not soft touch). I felt they were too rough even for a cheap helmet.
The retractable shield has one intermediate position above the eyes and is easy to operate. However, it has optical imperfections that result in smudging small areas in your line of sight. Serviceable enough and I did not experience waviness or distortion in large areas. It does not go as low as I think it should - does fall below the horizontal line of sight, but a bit lower would be better.
The cheek pads and shape of the helmet are too tight for my face. Combined with the rough material used, it made for an uncomfortable fit for me. I am a solid medium sized head of 22.5", a bit oval, and with a normal jaw #not wide/heavy/forward#. However, on this M-sized helmet my chin touches the chin guard if I make chewing motions. The chin guard is not padded. It being so close to my chin and hard plastic,I don't think it will protect me well in a crash where I'd hit my chin.
The flip up part opens easy, perhaps too easy, with only one large latch. It is harder to close, sometimes requiring two hands. This hardness is only when the helmet is on my head, it is easy to open and close off my head. This means that the shell changes shape when my head is inside. The latch mechanism is metal to metal and once closed, feels secure. The flip up part does go all the way back and feels solidly put there and in the medium up setting.
The weight of the helmet is also a bit forward of neutral with the chin guard down, straining the neck forward more than ideal. With the chin guard up, the weight is neutral in a fairly straight up riding position. With the guard to the rear, the weight is shifted back from vertical, again straining my neck when in an upright riding position.
The side panels that cover the hinges stick out too much on the top end. You can see that in the Revzilla video too. This will, I expect, be a source of undue noise. I did not ride with this helmet so I would not know for sure. I'm returning it due to fit mainly, but these panels and the chin guard feel helped me makeup my mind quickly. The panel on the right on mine was sticking out more than the one on the left and I felt it would only worsen over time - it was repeatedly coming out of its clicked-in position and had to be pushed in to click in place after normal adjustments of the shield. So it just does not fit well where it is supposed to.
The helmet smells fairly strong of chemicals, but that would probably go away with some use.
The fit of the clear shield felt good and the detents for several positions up were nicely defined.
If my head's shape was more agreeable with this helmet, I would have probably kept it because of the reasonable price and features, despite the somewhat cheap feel of it. As it is, it is not comfortable and I don't feel safe enough for me to have to put up with the rough lining and the less than ideal weight distribution.
The color of the orange hi-viz version is nice and bright, better in person than in the videos and photos. It is a very saturated and bright orange in real life - would indeed be very visible.
Bottom line, if your head shape agrees with this helmet, especially if your face and chin are narrow, it might be a good buy for the price and features. On the other hand, both my cheap Bell and an beat up old Nolan 100 are more comfortable to wear and with nicer feeling/softer inside materials.

multiple helmets in one at an amazing price
Used helmet for first time today about 100 miles. loved the hi viz orange. noticed cars waiting for me to go by that usually pull out and make me slow down. even saw quite a few people walking outside that seemed i caught their eye. size runs a little smaller. Initial impression is a lot of helmet for the price.probably would have to spend at least twice the money for a noticeable upgrade. Rode with gloves on a found that everything worked great. loved internal sun shield, it worked awesome. I could quickly retract it when i got to areas that were heavily shaded and was watching for deer( I could never do that with sunglasses) and then put it right back. Its great when the sun gets lower in the sky and i would want it when the road led me into the sun but not when i turned away and went into a shaded section. windshield detents were really stiff, i hope they relax a little. one handed flip up chin bar is great, i had to sort of slap it back closed to get it to lock.ratcheting neck strap is awesome. I will never own a helmet without one now. This is the best helmet for me and my full touring bike. IF there is any problem with wind noise my fairing completely removes that problem.i even stood up on the pegs at highway speed and no helmet lift and no buffeting. 59 degrees riding temp and airflow was perfect. Excellent seal around me at base of helmet. I didnt really notice the cooler temps because my head and face were so comfortable. I also can ride with chin bar up with no negative effects and still have air flow. I will only have face shield down in the cold or rain. Absolutely love this helmet so far. Revzilla was wonderful to buy from. I am going to by the misses one next. Cant wait for the next three day ride for a full test.

Way Too Small
I measured a Large according to the size chart. But I went ahead and ordered one size up (XL). When it arrived, I couldn't even get it on my head. I returned it and ordered a 2XL. When that arrived, I barely got it over my head. It was still too small. Not really sure how these are measured. Had to return it a 2nd time. I'm just going to have to find another helmet.
I like the look and features of this helmet, but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone because it seems like the sizing is quite a bit off.

Only complaint is that the front vent never really shuts and so there is a constant whistle at high speed but over all its a great helmet for summer riding

Decent price, okay quality
I got this helmet so I could get into work. The guards needed to see my face, and taking a full-faced helmet off and on every time was a hassle. Plus, the bright orange color makes it easy to be seen.
The downside is that you get what you pay for. The front face part came loose from its hinge a few months after I bought it. Not a big deal, since I just tightened a bolt in the helmet and it was good to go. Still, it feels a little cheap.

Great helmit, with one flaw.
This is an awesome helmet and I love it! There was one problem with the hinges for the faceplate. They became very loose and one came completely off. I had to remove the hinge covers and tighten the screw back to its normal tightness. After that, there seems to be no more problems. It's a great helmet at a great price!

Very nice helmet for the money.
This helmet is much better than I thought it would be for the money. I does run about a half to three quarter size small. Very nice futures. Air flow is not a good as I would like. Helmet shield fogs up in cold weather. Other than that, you can't beat the value.
