Abus Trigger 345 / 350 Alarm Disc Lock 4.3 5 7 7
Loud, but needs a lot of movement to trigger This is my second alarmed disc lock. It's easier to put on than the Abus 8077 I have on my other bike, but it is also noticeably less sensitive to movement. Relatively light movement will set off the 8077, but i need to move this one quite a bit for it to start the alarm. It was also about ninety bucks less, so I think that's to be expected. Sturdy and loud Had a smaller disk lock without alarm for the previous bike. This is a nice upgrade. It is very sturdy and the alarm is load (tested it with ear protection). Will for sure slow down someone that tries to take my bike. August 20, 2013
Cheapest alarm disc lock I found I am moving to an apartment complex soon and I wanted an additional layer of security for my scooter so I wouldn't have kids hopping up on it or playing with it. I chose this one because it was the cheapest one with an alarm built into it. The Xena was close behind it. The lock is heavily built and I suspect that it would take while for anyone to get this off without a key. Easily opens and closes, can lock without the alarm on as well. When on the front caliper, I can still move the wheel side to side but if I try to pick the wheel up and set it back down, the sudden impact will turn it on. There is a 5 second light beep, once per second then if you don't turn it off by key within that time, the 15 second siren comes on and is much louder. It is not as sensitive as I had hoped but the entry level lock does it's job. If someone were to try to pick it up and load it into a truck, this would definitely go off and hopefully get people's attention. Worth the money for sure. June 19, 2013
Security for motorcycles So far, so good; haven't had it for long, but it seems to work well (still have the motorcycle!). June 18, 2013
Does the trick Bought this to help give me peace of mind with leaving my pricy bike out of sight. that it does. audible alarm is over 100+db with is loud enough to wake everyone around. First purchase on an item like this, but yes I would tell my friends to buy one if they were in the market for one. May 20, 2013
Good Product I have a chopper and I definatly feel more comfortable leaving it set on the street even if just for a few minutes with this lock on the rear wheel. Fits perfectly and is very loud. May 19, 2013
Easy to use and SAVED my bike from theft This is a great lock and easy to use. The ability to turn the alarm on/off while it is still locked is what drew me to this disk lock. I can have my bike in the back of my truck locked up without the alarm going off. Three weeks after I bought the disk lock someone tried to steal my bike while it was sitting in my front driveway one night. The alarm was loud enough to wake up my family and chase the would be thieves away. After that incident I was recommending it to my coworkers who ended up having two bikes stolen recently because he neglected to put any locks on his bikes. April 25, 2013
