May not fit your motorcycle
I have a 2015 Ducati Multistrada 1200s
Unfortunately there is not enough clearance between the disc and the rim to slide the lock. The lock may be outstanding but there should be a compatibility chart so one would know if it fits.

Heavy Duty lock - alarm is pretty useless -way too quiet.
You can only hear it from about 20 feet away if the traffic noise from the road isn't too bad. Abus should make it a lot louder be cause the mechanism that sets of the alarm is very good. You will NOT get false positives. The bike literally has to be sat on, up-righted, or attempted to move for the alarm to trigger. It basically triggers by the disc movement pushing a big chrome ball in to activate the alarm.

piece of mind!
order your lock as soon as you get the email that they have it in stock.. these locks go out fast! the lock is beefy and the sensitivity of the motion sensors work really well.

The one to get
Echoing other comments here:

Pros
- Built solid
- Key is complex (not easy to pick)
- Alarm is not overly sensitive

Cons
- Alarm could be louder
- cannot fit it on my rear wheel (too easy for thieves to replace front wheel quickly)

I recommend this and wish they'd make a version to fit my rear rotor. Oh, and get the yellow one for deterrence and so you won't forget (but alarm will go off once you stand bike upright). Can be used without alarm if so desired.

Worth the Peace of mind
Love this lock. I use it anytime i'm at the gym or downtown because you never know. It's definitely heavy duty and loud, but not sensitive to where the smallest vibration sets it off. Definitely worth the peace of mind

Not perfect, but the best out there.
2015 Indian Scout: fits front & rear rotors.
Did my homework, and other brands had troubles with false alarms. I've had none with this. But you won't forget you have it on, as it will beep as soon as you sit on the bike to raise the kickstand.
As others have said:
Pros: solid and strong; enough to make a thief go to the next bike.
Cons: the alarm isn't very loud.
I'd recommend it to a friend.

Bulletproof but not without it's failings!
Okay, first let me start the review by stating that this is probably the most heavy duty disc lock out on the market!

The unit has a hefty weight and extremely solid feel to it-Abus have done a great job with the construction of this disc lock and the large size alone would deter most would-be thieves.
The bad side is the actual audio alarm isn't that loud-I personally think it's underpowered and should be much louder. It is, however, mechanically stable and unlike the Xena (which I've been told will activate inadvertently in high winds) mine has yet to go off for anything less than a gentle rocking motion of my bike.
Also of note is the colour-black is probably the worst colour they could have come up with as it's hard to see not only by thieves (and it could be mistaken as being a brake component at a casual glance) but also yourself so there is a good chance you might forget about it and drive off!... On that subject no lanyard is included which should be standard with any Abus premium product so you would want to invest in one of those as well as looking into painting it a bright Hi-Vis colour. I have emailed Abus concerning painting the unit and they have said that it won't void the warranty as long the locking arm/inner workings are not painted.

Overall it's a great unit despite the weak audio and colour/no lanyard and if you key it alike with an Abus chain or other product you'll have one key for all the units and several spares!

Not bad!
This product is not a full prevention but more of a deterrent. I have been satisfied with the build and construction of the product, but I suggest an immediate replacement of the included batteries.

Louder than I thought it would be
I've had this about 3 months now and it fits great on an '07 GSXR. The alarm is pretty loud so I have to make sure and be quick to lock and unlock it. It will sound if the bike is moved which is nice as a deterrent!

Good product - maybe wrong size for my bike?
Works exactly as advertised. Once it is locked if you move the front wheel even a little bit the alarm will sound and it's pretty loud. My only complaint is I have to put the lock on in a way that feels backwards. The side with the key is closer to the center of the wheel instead of the outside of the wheel. More than once I accidentally set off the alarm trying to get the key into the hole. I think this may just be because of the size of my wheels, and the more I use it the less of a problem it is.

Will this lock fit on my Triumph Scrambler?
A shopper on Feb 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: There homepage is awesome, you can check which locks fits your bike. Unfortunately Revzilla doesnt allow my comment to contain a link directly to the ABUS Motorbike Lock Guide, but you can probably google it or find it through their homepage.

I dont know what year your bike is but i dont think it fits yours, you should have a look at the Abus Detecto 7000 series instead. That one should fit your Scrambler depending of model year.
Can I use it in my BMW R 1200 GS 2014?
Raul E on Jul 26, 2014
BEST ANSWER: This is by far the best disc lock out there. This being my 3rd lock by different companies & the only one that has never, NEVER given a false alarm. Highly recommended, as i said, 2 others prior to this one. Buy it, you won't be sorry! Use revzilla too, by far the best sorce for gear & equiptment. You get the fastest shipping + bonus cash.a return label has always been in my product purchase box also. Great! Product.
Will this fit a cbr600rr 2015?
paul w on Apr 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I'm sure it will, it goes around the brake disk and is big enough to go around my brembbo disk.
Will this got my 2009 Yamaha Fz6r?
Todd B on Oct 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This lock is designed to be used as a front wheel disk lock. It is very large and well made. it will work on almost any front wheel brake disk. The alarm is not loud enough to deter a thief. It will stop you from trying to drive away with the lock attached. It will stop a single thief from rolling your bike away, However It won't stop a team of two from using a tow strap to lift the front wheel and roll your bike away or lifting it into truck and driving off. I would carefully examine security options as sport bikes are stolen more than any other type of motorcycle.
Will this work the back tire of a Ninja 300 ABS? Non-ABS model? Will a cat set it off?
A shopper on Mar 11, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hi, it does not fit my Kawasaki ZR7 neither on front or rear tyre, I still use it as a padlock with my chain. It's a top product, sturdy and a visual deterrent from my opinion. For the cat, well I guess he won't mess with it twice, it is loud...
Will this fit a 2015 Monster 821?
A S on Apr 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This lock is designed as a front disk and will work for any bike. It is a heavy duty lock and it will keep a thief from just rolling the bike away. It won"t stop them from lifting the bike and putting it in a truck. the alarm feature is loud enough to remind you the lock is still on, but not loud enough to be heard at a distance of more than a few feet away.
Will this work on the back of a Ninja 300 ABS? Non-ABS? Will a cat set it off?
A S on Mar 11, 2015
BEST ANSWER: According to the ABUS Motorbike Lock Guide the Abus Granit Detecto X-Plus 8077 fits the Ninja 300.
Can I use this without the alarm function? (such as by not inserting batteries.) I want one for front and one for back, but only want the alarm on one of them, for obvious reasons.
Lynn L on Jun 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, if u take the battery off it, it will just work as a regular caliper lock.

I don't see why you would need 2. But whatever floats your boat. a little FYI I don't think the alarm is loud enough. I still recomeded though. Great lock fits perfectly in my bike compartment . Solid construction
