Two Brothers M-2 VALE Slip-On Exhaust Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R

Each Two Brothers Racing M2 Slip-On features the same high level of quality construction and is designed to be fully-serviceable in the event of damage, routine maintenance or the occasional repack. All TBR’s M series slip-on exhaust systems feature the innovative V.A.L.E. system with CNC'ed aluminum inlets. The V.A.L.E. system is TBR's revolutionary, patented method of attaching the muffler canisters to the mid-pipe without the use of springs or welding. This system allows the muffler assembly - exhaust mid-pipe and canister - to be positioned perfectly on the bike before all the mounting hardware is fully tightened. Once the canister and mid-pipe are properly aligned, the V.A.L.E. assembly locks the muffler canister to the mid-pipe assuring a perfect, leak-free connection.

Two Brothers' mid-pipes are manufactured from .035" thick stainless steel and feature a polished satin finish. They exclusively use 304 stainless steel for its high rust resistance. After a few heat cycles the 304 steel turns a golden amber color, which is the signature of high quality stainless steel. The exhaust note produced by all of Two Bros exhaust systems is best described as being deep and throaty, without suffering from the shrill whine normally associated with other manufacturer's straight through muffler canisters. But this bark would be pointless without a bad bite, so no matter which great sounding TBR’s exhaust you choose they will all reduce weight and deliver additional horsepower and torque.

As the government aka “The Man” pushes for greater emission restrictions, motorcycle manufacturers are forced to make their exhausts heavier and more restrictive. Two Brothers Racing has given the motorcycle community the means to stick it to the man with the M Series Slip-On Exhaust.

Great sounding/looking exhaust for the cost
Overall I'm happy with this exhaust. I installed on a 2011 zx6r. It is pretty loud but not as insane as some others I've heard. I rode my bike for a few days and decided to order the P1X insert to tone it back a bit. I like to use my ear buds for music while riding a lot.

First off the look. It looks so much better on my bike compared to the stock exhaust. I really like being able to see more of the wheel. I've seen a lot worse stock exhausts than my 2011 zx6r but still a big improvement.

Now for the sound. It is nice and loud but also surprisingly deep. I looked through just about every exhaust for my bike I think and I was really worried about ordering one and just not liking it. For me it was down to the Werkes pipe, this one, and the Muzzy. Here is one thing I really like about two brothers over the other 2. If you go to two brother's website and you pull up their exhausts they actually have a table that shows the Db levels at 5k rpms. They also have the inserts listed in there as well. That gave me a lot more confidence in this pipe and the inserts available. After a few days of riding it I decided to go with the P1X insert so I could still listen to music and I'm sure on longer rides the standard sound might have been a bit much. Due to the information two brothers provides on the website I knew it would make a big difference and it really does.

Performance is interesting on a mid pipe/muffler like this. It's not a full race tuned exhaust. I will say the biggest difference I've noticed is losing about 15lbs from taking off the old muffler and the stock cats. I'm sure there were a couple of hp gained but from riding the bike I can feel the weight difference. I also notice better throttle response. This could be due to how everything works on the 2011 zx6r though. It has a valve that turns inside the stock muffler that opens it up. Obviously that's not there anymore. Combine that with a couple horse power and just the fact that it is more open and that's probably why. Not a huge difference but it is a slight difference.

If you're too concerned about sound to purchase this pipe I recommend visiting two brother's site and checking out the information for your bike. As I said the charts that show the sound levels at 5k rpms gave me the confidence that I could go with this exhaust and change it to what I wanted with one of the 2 inserts available. The build quality is fantastic, the instructions aren't too bad, and had I not already had a fender eliminator on my bike this would have been a much better value. The good news is a friend of mine can use it so it didn't go to waste at least.

Way the heck louder than I thought it'd be
Sounds great, noticeable drop in weight. I can feel a slight difference under heavy acceleration right beneath the powerband. This pipe is substantially louder than I anticipated. I fired it up in my apartment complex parking lot at 10 PM when I had just finished the install and was immediately embarrassed by the volume and had to shut it off. I installed the silencer on it that night. Sounds beautiful, very deep and aggressive tone; you'll probably need to start wearing earplugs if you don't already. The install took me a couple hours, and while my 09 zx6r is almost entirely to blame(the fairings are almost impossible to remove), I have to say that the instructions were almost completely useless: blurry photos that don't match the step you're on.
