PR 2s are a great value
I mounted this front tire and a Pilot Road 2 on the rear of my BMW K1600 GTL and after 8,000 miles they are both going strong. These miles were ridden with a fully loaded bike on both Interstate highways as well as winding twisty mountain roads. I rode in rain downpours as well as dry pavement with no gripping problems. I expect to get well over 10,000 miles on the rear and 15,000 on the front tire. If I achieve these results I will most certainly purchase another set of the PR 2. As an aside I have worn out 2 sets of Pilot Road 3 tires with less miles on them.

Best tires for the street
I discovered these tires a few years back, when got into "Sport touring" riding with my 09 Ninja 650R. They are by far way better than the original OEM Bridgestone 021. The first impression was- the bike stays glued to the road, don't wonder around on a windy day... Than the grip on a twisty road is excellent- don't recall EVER to slip and slide the rear on a sharp turn, what was a common case with the OEMs. The wear is phenomenal too - the rear gets around(-/+ 1000mi) 10k mi, front gets 20k mi. Since than I use these tires on ALL my bikes (I never go to tracks, just street fun) - FJR1300, GSX-R750, Duke II supermoto. They perform outstanding, never had any problems or complains. I will never even try another brand, maybe only the newer versions of the same tire... I have had some Dunlops on a Harley, also Pirellis on my FJR and Magna V65 when bought, they don't even come close to Michelin, don't waste your money! Other tires don't grip so good and have less than half the life/mileage, at the same price. Go figure... Thanks, Michelin, for the excellent tires!

Great Product, Great Price!!
So far so good! Just put these on my 2012 Triumph Thruxton about a week ago. I must say it is a HUGE improvement from the OEM tires that came on the bike. They look great on the bike and I can really feel the difference. I never knew how much the OEM tires would push back on the front end of my bike until now. These just roll in and out of corners with ease even with a slightly wider option on front and rear, 110/80 on the front and a 150/70 on the rear. Can't really rate tread life of these just yet but from other reviews I am hoping to get 12K+ out of them with good maintenance. And as far as wet traction, living in SOCAL im not sure i'll be able to rate in there but thats why i chose the pilots 2 over the 3's. Saved a little $$ since I didn't need to rely too much on the improved wet grip since it only rains a handful of days a year here.

Thanks so much to John at revzilla for helping me thru my tire buy and breaking down how easy the Michelin tire system is pros/cons/improvements with each tire family.

nice progressive turn in. Very predictable handling.

Slower steering in than the sportmax tires they replaced but very satisfied for everyday riding.

Good Commuter Tire
Came from Pilot Powers that only lasted about 4500 miles. These are not quite as sticky but I mainly use my bike for commuting so thats not a big deal. I have put about 2000 miles on them so far and it looks like these will last much longer that the powers. I have only ridden once in the rain since I put these on (live in Las Vegas) and I felt very confident with these tires.

Performance and Value
SoCal doesn't rain much, so I chose these vs PR3. These are less expensive and are expected to wear a bit longer. Revzilla has super fast free shipping, no tax.

the front road 2 does not cup. They last over 6000+ on my zx14

Needed more mileage out of tires on my R6 but also wanted something sport oriented for spirited riding. I commute daily on my bike with about 40 miles of highway riding round trip. This tire had really great reviews and some people even preferred it over the new models. Michelin makes some of the best tires you can buy.

Matched the size I needed and reviews were good. Live in rainy washington state and tire is suppose to be a rain tire.
Barris H on Apr 25, 2017
I had Michelin PR2 on the rear and liked them - so I went with PR2 for the front. I get good wear out of them and I have good confidence with them leaning into corners. Good all around tire.

Thomas C on Apr 16, 2014
I want a radial front tire to go with the Anakee radial rear tire I bought for an old BMW K100RS. From experience I prefer the PR2 to the PR3 for steering feel and agility. The PR3 slows the steering down more than I like.
Philip S on Apr 11, 2014
Best sport-touring tire for various bikes. I use it on all of my bikes- Ninja 650R, Yamaha FJR1300, V-Strom 650, DukeII, etc... Lasts around 20k miles, grips amazingly.
V A on Mar 23, 2014
I was considering the PR3 and PR4, but saw a lot of reviews online saying that the PR2 is still a fantastic tire that has been tried and tested for years. A lot of people still stand by it over the PR3/PR4. It is also more affordable than the PR3 and PR4.
Kevin H on Mar 4, 2014
I already had one. Got almost 14,000 miles it.

These tires have excellent grip and wear like iron. Love my PR2's.
A s on Dec 5, 2013
Good tire for a reasonable price. Over 10K on the front of the FJR and still has some life but the bike is sensitive to front tires and the handling has dropped off.

"Because I will not be riding that much in the rain and do not see you point of paying more for the 3s if im not going to use them. also because I ride my bike everyday so I need somthing that can handle my style of riding. "

Replacing the same tire that is one my bike with around 10K + miles on them. Rear tire got punctured. The front is still very servicable at this milage but decided to replace as a set.
James N on Aug 20, 2013
This will be my 2nd set of Pilot Road 2s on my 2009 R6. My first pair have about 10,000 miles on them and I will probably put another 1-3 miles on them before I put the 2nd set on.
Christopher C on Aug 13, 2013
I ride a Speed Triple as my commuter and I ride 60+ miles a day just to and from work. I need a tyre with good longevity yet something that care take a corner or to and still stick (thanks to the dual compound). I ride in Las Vegas so rain isn't too much of an issue which means I didn't feel I needed the Pilot Road 3. Also warming up my tyres isn't too hard to do in Vegas (unless its winter). Overall I'm looking forward to trying these tyres out and fingers crossed they are as good as I hope.
SpeedTriple on Aug 10, 2013
I get good wear out of the tire about 10,000 miles.

replacement tire to match the rear.
Steve L on May 4, 2017
Is it advisable to match different speed rated tires ( a 70W tire (rear) with a 58W tire (front))?
A shopper on Apr 3, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Sorry - I try to match the tire types. Otherwise not an authority on the subject; however, other local LD riders go with the new PR4 tires.
I am curious as to why the front tire and rear tire tread patterns meet the road in opposite directions? The most narrow part of the rear tire tread pattern meets the road first. Yet the most narrow part of the front tire contacts the road last? Why the diff?
RidinIsLivin on Dec 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I asked myself the same thing and was concerned that they weren't out on correctly by the dealership at first when they did my 6500 mile tune up. Now at 186mph I don't question anything, great set of tires, no trust issues.
