Reviews & Questions
Feels at the controls is moderate I would say, certainly less feel than some super low profile minimal boots, but nothing you won't get used to with some time.
If your primary use is off-road riding/enduro/woods, and water resistance is a primary concern, other boots may be better. My old Tech 8's were way more water resistant than these - hence the Klim booties I now wear when I think it will be wet.
The boots are on the bulkier side for sure, and if low-profile, light weight, and maximum feel are your priorities, you would be well advised to try another boot. These boots have lots of hard plastic and hinged ankle, so while they offer a higher level of protection and more ankle mobility than most, they are heavier and more bulky.
Buckles, sole durability, materials, fit and finish, and general quality are all what you would expect for a boot of this price range - in other words, excellent.
I've been riding mine for about 1.5 years in tough conditions (tight woods, mud, rocks, etc.) and they have been holding up well with no signs of giving up.
Bottom line: Great boots, high end protection, little to no break in time, high durability, and overall excellent value but bulkier and maybe a little heavier than some of the competitors offerings in this price range.
On another note, I have had a few MX style boots and these are by far the most comfortable out of the box boots I have worn. The buckles are buttery smooth to operate and will not remove hunks of finger when taking your boots off at the end of the day.
I will post another review after I have put a few miles and dings in them.

I have monster calves 19.5" and I couldn't find another brand that would work.
When I first got the boots I needed to take the buckles off and move them out to the next screw. The fit was tight for the first few rides. But now they fit like gloves. I talked to some of my local buddies and they assured me that they take a good 20hrs to fully break in.
Besides airflow I have nothing bad to say about these boots. But given their protection I can let that go.
I wade through puddles and have put my feet down in streams while crossing and my feet have stayed dry.
As for their stability all I can say is that I never think about where to put my foot down when steadying the bike or when I need to catch myself in technical rocky terrain of the north east.
Pro's - Comfort & fit is excellent. also very supportive without the need to break them in. good buckle design and easy to adjust. I choose white and they look good after a day out in the trials. Lots of protection and great styling.
Con's - Weight, they are heavy! Also not waterproof I got stuck in some water that was 3/4 up to my boots and my feet got soaking wet. Water flowed in and within 10 seconds I had wet feet and sloshed around in them for the rest of the afternoon.
My review is positive, I highly recommend these boots as I could wear them all day long and not have any real issues.

After six rides or so, nothing negative to report. They have protected my foot from a few softball sized rocks (one which knocked my foot off of the peg).
Then I bit the bullet and ordered these Gaerne SG10's.
They are very comfortable. I wear an 11.5 D in most boots (like Timberland, Rockport) and same 11.5 D in most Nike type sneakers.
I ordered a size 12 in these Gaerne's and was worried that they would be too big. However the inside of the boots is lined with about 1/4 inch thick, dense, firm memory foam. They conform to your foot very well and are VERY comfortable.
The front/back flexibility in the ankle joint is very nice. there is no side to side roll, (nothing to worry about there).
These seem like they will be extremely protective.
I think that with as hot and unbreathable as these look like they will be, and with as high the price is, they should be waterproof, -OR- they should be vented and breathable so that water and stuff just drains out of them quickly.
I think the garish colors and big lettering all over the boots is ugly. I would like them better if they were just all flat black.
The inside of the calf and ankle has rubbery material to "grip" the bike.
The toe area (shifting toe) is not too bulky. But with all MX boots I wonder how I will be able to "feel" the brake or the shifter while riding??? I guess that is just a trade off for protection.
These boots are definitely in a whole higher class than the other MX boots I have tried on.
The buckles and closures are nice but not exceptional. Basically inline with the pricepoint. I do really like the grippy inner calf area for hanging on to the bike while standing.
