Bobster Hooligan Photochromic Sunglasses

The Bobster Hooligan is a sleek and stylish sunglasses with photochromic lens, so it can go with you in all lighting conditions. The frame wraps around the face and has a slight "cup" on the edges of the frame to minimize wind disruptions without the need for foam. The lenses are photochromic starting with a light tint (85% transmission) and transform to a medium grey (32% transmission) in bright light. The Hooligan also comes with a microfiber pouch for easy transport.

But not as dark as expected
Bought these on a whim hoping they'd work out. Turns out the glasses themselves are nice enough. Flexy over the ears which makes fitting into helmets nice without putting pressure on your temples. Good build quality for the price.

The tint is hardly noticeable though even in direct sunlight, so they're basically clear glasses. They do darken a bit if you look close enough. If you check Bobster's website - they post the tint % of each type of lens, which wasn't overly evident here.

I kept them anyway, as I cycle commute and needed a pair of evening bug shields and these will work out for that for the price point I paid for them. If they were much more expensive, I probably would have returned them and picked up darker lenses.

Good quality not very dark
Nice glasses, good quality for the price but they do not get very dark. I keep them in my saddle bag for evenings and night time ridding when I have on my half helmet. If you do not require your glasses to tint dark these will be perfect but, if you are expecting dark you will be disappointed.

Awesome Product
Ordered these because I often ride my bike and get back home in the evening and only had dark shades and needed a better option. They have become almost an everyday wear because of the transition lenses.

Impairs my peripheral vision
Immediately I noticed impairment of my peripheral vision when looking over my shoulder. I don't know how many degrees of vision I lost but noticeable enough to not ride with these. I will be returning these.

Aside from that, I really like them. They fit good and have style, so if that's what you're looking for I would recommend these.

Cool and Big Bang for the Buck
The glasses work well, the transition from light to dark was spot on. Other reviews talked about them not being dark enough, but I wouldn't want them any darker. I like these for city driving but would go with the goggles for extended free way riddin. Straight up though, the glasses are bad axe.

Why did you choose this?
RevZilla Store
I wanted glasses that I could wear day or night that would keep the wind and sun out of my eye. These glasses are great. They aren't the darkest in bright sunlight but are good enough. They clear up nicely when it gets dark out AND they keep most of the wind out of my eyes... One of my favorite set of glasses.

I like wearing my Bell Rogue helmet in the warm Miami weather and was looking for a good pair of riding glasses I could use day or night. I'm praying the photochromic lenses really work.

Can these glasses be worn at night?
A shopper on Nov 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes these can be worn at night. They are not as light as a normal clear lens, but they will allow you to see. When riding, I can use them from day to night without any problem.
How do these do with fog? Any problems in colder weather?
John L on Mar 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have not had any problems with them fogging, keep in mind I live in HI, but they don't seem to be different than any other pair of sunglasses that I used in the past.
