Shoe toe saver
The Shifter Sock seemed to be a little pricey but it also seems to be made of good quality materials and it appears it will be durable. The velcro connection gives it flexibility to cover the exact contact area of your shoe with the shifter. I initially had some difficulty figuring out how to put it on my shoe but once I learned how it works it is actually quite easy to apply.

It is what it is...
I like this product. It does exactly what it is supposed to, protects the top of my shoes from wear due to the clutch pedal. It has a strap that goes around your heal and velcro loop you can run through your laces for a long ride. The other review mentioned rubber/plastic tubes that go under your shoe, yes they are there and awkward to walk on, but they are there to protect the straps...without them, the straps would wear through and break within days.
This shifter sock does exactly what it's supposed to.

Just okay
This product does what it's supposed to and protects your boot from additional wear caused by the shifting pedal. After some time trying to figure out how it goes on the boot I was able to easily get it on. I wish the company would provide a very simple sheet on how to put it on.

Beyond that, the hard tubes were what I struggled with. I know they are there to protect the straps under your boot from wearing and breaking too quickly, but there has to be a better option. First time I put this on and went for a ride, the first stoplight I stopped at and put my foot down on the pavement, my foot almost slipped out from under me and I almost tipped the bike over. The hard plastic does not provide good grip on hard surfaces. I haven't worn it since as I'm afraid of doing the same thing. I would think they could come up with a low profile material that wouldn't wear though for the bottom straps versus the thick hard plastic tubes. If this feature was fixed, I would highly recommend this product, however at this time, I still recommend it, just with caution knowing that there will be an adjustment curve for getting used to those hard plastic tubes under your foot.

This $15 product will just sit on a shelf.
I should have looked at this a little closer. Craftsmanship is good and it will protect your boot or your wife's boot, as in my case. Problem is the design is goofy. it has two hard tubes that sit below the sole of the boot. You are probably not going to want to walk around on these tubes, they are about 3/8" in diameter.
