Vance & Hines Fuelpak For Harley Sportster

Your fuel injected bike is equipped with an ECU (electronic control unit) that's programmed to deliver fuel to the motor based on an air/fuel ratio for a stock air filter and stock exhaust system. While the ECU can self-adjust for environmental factors such as temperature and altitude, it can't adjust for mechanical changes like adding performance parts. When you install a performance exhaust system, your airflow changes, so you need a fuel management system that adjusts your air/fuel ratio to match the changes. That fuel management system is Fuelpak.

The fuelpack plugs directly into the factory wiring harness and ECU using a t-tap and OEM style connectors to stay fastened securely to your bike. The Vance and Hines Fuelpak is easy to install and simple to use.

  • Throttle position sensor-based system simplifies the process of tuning
  • Fine tune the fuel mixture through the entire RPM range with the touch of a button
  • Increases power and improves throttle response
  • Plugs into the existing harness on the bike
  • No computer or software is required
  • Simply punch in the values supplied with the Fuelpak for use with Vance & Hines exhaust systems
  • Fuel Pak will also work with other exhaust systems (contact V&H tech support for tuning information)
  • Includes all necessary mounting hardware

Simple to install and program. Put the fuel pack on along with short shot pipes and a stage 1 air filter. Bike now runs like a scalded dog, and gets better gas milage.

I purchased this item for my 13 iron 883 and it was simple and easy to install and program. I have Vance & Hines pipes and k&n high flow intake but needed some sort of fuel management system after doing my research it led me to this particular fuelpak. I always order from Revzilla for my bike and they have not let me down customer service was great as always and assured me that this item was perfect. I ordered it and the shipping was lightning fast. The installation was a breeze and the program aspect was much simpler than other fuel management systems. Now my bike runs like it is supposed to great power and air coming in. I am extremely satisfied with my purchases from Revzilla.

Will this fit a 2015 iron 883?
A shopper on Feb 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I put one on my wife's '13 883. the only issue I had was mounting the unit where the instructions said to. I could not get the battery cover to stay on with it velcroed to the battery strap. I squeezed it into the space behind the battery and it has been working there for about six months now.
Will this work with a 2015 iron 883??
A S on Feb 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Check the fitment chart first but I believe it will. I put one on my wife's 2013 883 super low. One issue I had with the installation was that the instructions say to use the supplied velcro to attach the unit to the battery strap. I tried re-arranging the two other connections already on the strap but could not get the cover to stay on with the fuel pak added too. I slid the fuel-pak behind the frame right behind the battery and it fits great there.
I have the LED fuelpak. Tried to innstall it on my 2010 883XL Sportster, but when I turn the ignition and hit the run button, it breifly turns on, then turns back off again. So I cant program the proper values. Anyone had the same issue?
A shopper on Aug 13, 2014
BEST ANSWER: My instructions said the bike must be running when the mode values are entered. When following these directions, it worked as intended. Also, in order for the values to lock in, you must shut the bike off for a short period and then restart it. If you have questions, you can speak to a technical advisor at Vance and Hines website. They have been very helpful to me when my programming seemed to be a little lean.
Installed this on my used Nightster and found out that the map values were already matching what the Fuelpak site gave me. I guess maybe it was already serviced in a shop? Is there any point in me having this product anymore? Should I just resell it at this point?
Matthew K on Sep 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Are you saying that when you plugged the Fuelpak into your bikes ECU that the FuelPak map values were the same as those from the V&H site? If so, that doesnt' mean your stock ECU had those values already...just that the values loaded into the FuelPak were already spot on.

I'd keep it...you never know when you may change something, put a K&N air filter on, change exhaust, etc.
2013 sportster 48. Do I use my stock O2 sensors with this Fuelpak LCD? Why or why not? Thanks.
A C on Jun 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I used the stock 02 sensors on my 2011 48 as the aftermarket pipe I bought had me reinstall them. Bike runs great w/ the modified fuel map on the fuelpak. I think the ECU & FuelPak need the sensors to adjust fueling over the rev range.
I've got a 2008 nightster with custom pipes. How would this help my bike adjust with a set of custom pipes without having a preset pipe setup?
A shopper on Apr 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The Vance & Hines FuelPak is one of the most user friendly tuners out there. They are easy to install and program. If one was to purchase Vance and Hines FuelPak, I HIGHLY recommend getting The Fuelpak FP3 version. With any tuner purchased you would want to upgrade pipes and intake. When programing the FuelPak in automatically adjusts preset settings for you. Know that it is recommended that you upgrade intake. You can go onto Vance and Hines Website and find step by step instructions for each mode. Again Highly recommend the Fuelpak FP3. On a good note, be open to other products out there. As I purchased the the FuelPak LCD Product # 61023, it truly was one of the easiest modifications. It has been effective in regards to improving performance, it automatically adjusts so you don't run lean or rich, if you have custom pipes jus go to the vance and hines website and punch in the pipes you have and it will tell you what to put in the modes. If you plan doing any modifications to your bike, as in 883 to 1200,1250 conversion or any other conversion, I would get dynojet tuner. All in All the most recommended would be to check the DynoJet tuners out, you'll spend a bit more, but your getting a more well rounded product that offers more. Save yourself the time and money and go with the Dynojet tuners as they offer more as you continue to customize your bike.
I've read on multiple sites that this isn't recommended for emission controlled states. If i purchase this for my bike in Pennsylvania, is my bike going to pass inspection?
Richard C on Dec 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I would shoot an email to Vance & HInes and ask them, they are good about responding. Thankfully, in Oregon motorcycles dont' have to go thru emissions testing. One option would be to use the stock ECU for emissions...then after put your fuel pak back on. The sad reality is that stock bikes run too lean. Thank the tree huggers for that.
Can I make additional changes with this FMS? Say I get exhaust now and tune it properly. Then A month or so later I buy an air filter. Can I make that change in the maps after already having it programmed once??
A shopper on Jun 24, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you will get a map set based on the modifications you have made. If you need to change it just call Vance and Hines tech and tell them what you have done and they can give you the map changes you will need to use to reprogram the tuner. I did this with mine. It was still running lean with the map provided and I called to get help, they gave me some different settings and it solved the lean problem.
I'm having a hard time finding the right fuel pack, and not even sure if it'll have the programming needed. I've got the 2013 Iron 883, here's my set up: Bassani Radial Sweeper straight pipes, 4" joker air cleaner, 1200cc conversion, and I'm adding 482 cam gears in the near future. Any suggestions?
A shopper on Jun 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: You might want to shoot an email to Vance & HInes. The map settings you want to use will come from them anyway. They should be able to steer you in the right direction.
Will this fuel pak work with a Screaming Eagle air intake and Vance and Hines short shots? Harley wants over 1000 to calibrate the ECU and dyno tune my 2013 Iron. I love Harley, but I hate their shop prices... Thanks.
A shopper on Nov 2, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes, vance and hines has different settings for different combinations of air cleaners and pipes. You will need to tell them what changes you have made. After I made changes and installed the tuner, my bike still ran lean so I called the vance and hines tech support line and they helped me make additional adjustments to make it run right.
