Vance & Hines CS One Urban Brawler Dual Slip-On Exhaust For Kawasaki Z1000 / Ninja 1000

The CS One Urban Brawler takes a minimalist approach in design that gives just the right look for a streetfighter-style bike like the Kawasaki Z1000. The dual slip-on application for the Z1000 is a dual-tip design available in either a polished or matte black finish, both sporting a laser engraved Vance & Hines CS One logo. As a cat-back fitment on the Z1000, the CS One Urban Brawler puts out a nice throaty growl at a moderate sound level.

Optional inserts can also be added to further temper the exhaust note. The CS One Urban Brawler slip-ons are a great value and an easy-to-install upgrade that really gives the Z1000 a trick look. And these Urban Brawler slip-ons will also fit the Kawasaki Ninja 1000.

Fits 2014 Z1000
This is exactly what the doctor ordered for the Z1000! Cheap price, great fit, easy install and they sound amazing. Not too loud out on the road, but aggressive enough to let others know a beast is approaching!

Site doesn't show that this kit fits the 2014 Z1000/Ninja's but it bolted right up. I've included a link for a small sample of the sound difference.

I should've bought this exhaust a long time ago!
I was originally going to purchase a set of Akrapovic carbon slip-ons for my 2011 Ninja 1000 and was waiting for the right time to spend a grip of cash to get em. During the process of waiting, I was able to think about things and I asked myself, "why spend all that money for just slip-ons for a Ninja 1000?" Sure the N1K is a great bike, but the value of it doesn't justify the cost of an expensive exhaust in my opinion. Plus I want to put a matching red chain and sprocket on it and long pipes would cover it up too much, so I started looking for shorty pipes and came across these. After watching a lot of videos and reading a lot of blogs, the only problem some people had with them was that they were too loud. Some said they aren't too loud and they didn't seem too loud from the videos I watched so I decided to give them a try- I figured if they're too loud I can buy the baffles, use earplugs or both. All I can say is I'm glad I went with these! Not too loud- they're perfect w/o baffles or earplugs, easy to install, sound great, look great, they save a ton of weight over stock pipes, you get more power, the bike shifts better, improved MPGs and no repacking or maintenance- all for under 300 bucks for dual slip-ons. What more can you ask for? I bought my bike new and I've spent the last 9K miles running stock pipes because I was waiting to get the way more expensive Akras when I could've been enjoying these from jump. I should've bought this exhaust a long time ago!

AMAZING PRODUCT!!!
After looking all around at different exhaust systems for my 2012 Ninja 1000 I finally decided the price and look of these pipes were amazing and thought I would give it a shot and boy was I impressed! They are straight pipes (no baffles) but you can buy the baffles for them, I use them without the baffles and I don't think they're too loud at all. The idle is nice and smooth and when you get on the throttle it has an excellent sound to it! Absolutely 100% satisfied with this exhaust!!!

Great sound, poor quality control
The sound is great...as a sport bike should sound. Installation was easy, but the quality control and customer service of Vance and Hines needs significant improvement. The bracket was not drilled properly in the correct spot. I contacted V&H customer service 5 times before they would enter the warranty claim. I have waited over a month for the replacement they said they would ship. I would give it 1 star, but it sounds good.

Sounds like a Rocket now
2014 Ninja 1000

Pros:

Look awesome and sound even awesomer.

Easy to install if parts are made to spec

Reduced about 16lbs off bike

Cons:

Right side link pipe end was too big for stock gasket. Left side was fine. In comparison, the left side nearly goes into right side opening. Destroyed stock gasket trying to install right side. Had to manipulate what was left and make work with some leaks. I will probably have to buy a new OEM gasket and slice one side so it fits around the larger pipe and then presses together with clamp in link pipe. Sucks

Info:

I would have blasted this as an excellent across the board if it hadn't been for the out of spec right side pipe.

Awesome pipes!
I just put these on my 2012 Ninja 1000. Black pipes on a black bike. The bike looks and sounds mean!
Installation was pretty easy. It took about an hour.

Not properly machined for a perfect fit.
When I was installing them the right side fit pretty good. When I was going to to install the left side I encountered a problem. The diameter of the pipe was slightly larger so the stock gasket didn't fit. I had to make improvisations so I could jam it in. I couldn't return them because I am from another country and shipping would kill me.

Excelent pipes
I place this pipes in my 2014 z1000 and no problems at all in the fitment department, the bike now sounds deeper in the low revs and screaming in the high revs. Also lost a little bit of the fast response in the low revs due to the valve in the right site, but gain a couple of hps in the mid range, and lost like 2-3 kg. Overall a great product.

buy them!
Aside from having to adjust the idle speed nothing was affected by the installation of the exhaust. The sound is amazing! At highway speeds you can hear it but it's not droning. When the exhaust first arrived it was a high polished look, now it has a golden color to it. It looks amazing!

Greate look and the bike sounds better too. Great option if you don't want the hassle of a full-system or like the minimal tiny look of these pipes

During my search for new exhaust for my Z1000 the Urban Brawlers kept coming up. After watching videos about the ease of installation and how great they sound my mind was made up. I shopped the price and Revzilla had the best deal and offered free shipping.

Will this fits the Z1000 2015 model???
yousif j on May 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I'm also looking for this answer....
I have a 2013 Ninja 1000 ABS and I'm wondering why this supposedly doesn't fit my bike but fits the non-abs model of the same year?
Patrick M on May 26, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Don't take out the valve servo. I have them on my 2014 z1000 also and I just removed the cable from both ends.
Will this fit my 2015 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 ABS, if so does anything have to be removed, or is it a snug fit?
A shopper on Jun 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The only thing you have to remove is the exhaust valve cables from the servo under the seat. They are only connected to the right side muffler. Clipping them works best. DO NOT SPIN THE SERVO. If you do it will cause the check engine light to pop on. Feed the cables down from under the seat and then remove the mufflers. Be sure not to damage the exhaust doughnut. You'll need them to replace the new mufflers.
Hi, would these fit on Z1000 2014? I've seen a few pics online of 2014 with these! Any advise?
A shopper on Jul 24, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it fit on my 2014, however the heat shields of the '13 are diff than ours, so more stainless stock exhaust is exposed. The black slip ons looked out of place, so I painted the stock exhaust black, now it looks great!
The Title says Dual Slip-on Exhuast, does that mean both sides left and right come at the one price?
A shopper on May 18, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the price you see is for 2 (two) exhaust tips, one for the left and one for the right. And as the pictures show, each tip splits into 2 final tips. And for the record, it sounds pretty good. Makes it safer in my opinion, as the stockers are soooo quiet.
Was there any significant MPG loss after installing this exhaust? Specifically for Ninja 1000 2014 and up.
Ernesto E on Jun 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: You will not lose mpg but you will make noise and for me it was an awsome sound. You will be heard and in my experience that is a good thing. You will experience some engine braking popping when decelerating but in my opinion not obnoxious. Good thing also is you'll lose lots of weight on the bike. Wheelie on and this bike wiil do that without effort.
Hello,
I wanted to know if this fits z1000 2014?
If not, is there another link for same product fits 2014 model?
Thank u
A shopper on Nov 20, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will fit they are the same as there was no major change between the 13 and 14 yr models other than adding a few bells and whistles.
Does it come with decibel killers or sound insert? What kind of metal was use in Matte Black finished?
Norman D on Jun 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No silencers included. They're a separate item that can be purchased. Not sure about what kind of metal is used. It is light weight and seems to cool quickly without the pinging sounds I used to hear with the stock exhaust. The finish is easily scratched though, so be careful during installation.
Hi at that price does it include both side exhaust ?
and doest it fit the Butterfly sensor or does it have to be removed? thanks
A shopper on Apr 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Price includes Both side exhausts, The butter fly sensor has to be disconnected form original exhaust fitted on only one side of Origial exhaust, You need to dismantle the wheel with its spring ,& can be fixed directly on the Servo motor Below your seat ,Spring rests on base of motor while wheel sitting over it ,( you need to take out the cables connecting this servomotor to original exhaust )
This way we will be fooling the servo motor . ,You can remove decibel killer if u want it ,
I have the same bike but it is 2012 ninja 1000 abs I wanna know if this will fit on my bike?
A S on Apr 11, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It will fit on your bike. The tapped hole on the right pipe to connect the underside heat shield was about 1/8" off on mine. Worst case scenario drill a hole next to the existing one and move the nut over to grab the screw. It all gets covered by the heat shield, so you should be set.
