Two Brothers M-5 VALE Slip-On Exhausts Kawasaki Concours 14

Each Two Brothers Racing M2 Slip-On features the same high level of quality construction and is designed to be fully-serviceable in the event of damage, routine maintenance or the occasional repack. All TBR’s M series slip-on exhaust systems feature the innovative V.A.L.E. system with CNC'ed aluminum inlets. The V.A.L.E. system is TBR's revolutionary, patented method of attaching the muffler canisters to the mid-pipe without the use of springs or welding. This system allows the muffler assembly - exhaust mid-pipe and canister - to be positioned perfectly on the bike before all the mounting hardware is fully tightened. Once the canister and mid-pipe are properly aligned, the V.A.L.E. assembly locks the muffler canister to the mid-pipe assuring a perfect, leak-free connection.

Two Brothers' mid-pipes are manufactured from .035" thick stainless steel and feature a polished satin finish. They exclusively use 304 stainless steel for its high rust resistance. After a few heat cycles the 304 steel turns a golden amber color, which is the signature of high quality stainless steel. The exhaust note produced by all of Two Bros exhaust systems is best described as being deep and throaty, without suffering from the shrill whine normally associated with other manufacturer's straight through muffler canisters. But this bark would be pointless without a bad bite, so no matter which great sounding TBR’s exhaust you choose they will all reduce weight and deliver additional horsepower and torque.

As the government aka “The Man” pushes for greater emission restrictions, motorcycle manufacturers are forced to make their exhausts heavier and more restrictive. Two Brothers Racing has given the motorcycle community the means to stick it to the man with the M Series Slip-On Exhaust.

Not too loud with silencer
I bought this mostly for the sound. It installed easily, looks great and saves a ton of weight. It would have been helpful to get SOME instruction for the silencer. It was easy, but there were two o-rings with no guidance whatever. (The two-minute YouTube clip sorts it all out.)
I was quite worried about it being too loud, as I didn't want it much louder than stock. With the longer of the two available silencers, I'd say it is maybe just a little louder. In any case, I can't hear it above 45 mph or so. And it sounds great getting there. I think the engine may rev a little more easily as well.
It's hard to say much about the durability just yet, but so far I am quite pleased.

Sound test Concours 14
First of all the stock pipe weighed 20 pounds while the slip on weighed in at 6 pounds so that's an advantage.

I purchased a Radio Shack digital sound level meter model 3300099 to measure the sound levels. Readings were taken at one (1) foot from the end of the pipes on the "A" setting and fast sample. Same spot in my garage with the door open for all tests. Readings were taken at idle speed of approximately 1050 RPM.

The stock pipe reads at 85dB. The Two Brothers slip on read 95dB. And the Two Brothers slip with P1X power tip sound reducer read at 91dB.

Also without the reducer the engine popped quite a bit on deceleration.

So, weight loss yes however the noise levels are a matter of my personal preference but I will leave the reducer in.

Premium slip on at a premium price
Ordered the M5 Black Series

The slip on is a little more expensive then most but the fit, finish, packaging, magnesium end caps, and can mounting hardware are top notch. Install took less then 30 minutes and after the first couple of rides to burn off the packing a bit the sound is amazing compared to the stock silence. Instructions were helpful but not needed due to ease of installation

On the Concours 14 the idle is low and deep and sounds amazing up to 3500 rpm at which point you barely here the exaust unless you start tacking above 6 grand

High quality (as always) with Two Bro's pipes
In spite of having to make some alterations to the tail piece flange the pipe worked out fine. The center bolt hold pre-drilled into the pipe was a little off. But 20 min. of fabrication and it worked. The 2011-2012 pipe flanges are different than the older models.

Two Brothers M5 Slip-On Exhaust Kawasaki Concours 14
Great Job Revzilla!!
You made this purchase such a happy one for me.
Your we site was informative and easy to navigate, and you delivered the exhaust to me very quickly, it was at my door within just a few days ready for me to install.
I took a moment to read the instructions provided then I watched the installation video and I was all set.
Two Brothers Racing really thought this one out, the new exhaust fit my bike like a glove. It was an easy install and everything lined up perfectly. So much lighter than the factory exhaust.
Eager to get on the road I tested it out right away, no leaks and it sounds fantastic! I always thought the factory supplied exhaust was to quiet and heavy.
So overall I look at this purchase as an upgrade.
Thanks to Two Brothers Racing and Revzilla for making this all happen so smoothly, I will definitely use Revzilla again and recommend them to all my friends.
Thank you!

Concours 14 exhaust upgrade
Have had this M5 about a year. My M5 Two Brothers exhaust sounds great. Nice growl at 4000 rpm. Much improved look as welll now that the big black cannon OEM is gone. Easy slip off and slip on process. You will be looking for excuses to get out on the road with this bad boy. My wife tells me the windows shake when I'm leaving. A+ to RevZilla for great service and delivery.

Two Brothers Black Series looks really nice
I did not want anything too loud this bike is taken on long rides and I did not want my wife's ears bleeding in the back so I was apprehensive at getting the two brothers because reviews say that it is loud but after putting it on and after riding for ten hours in a day, the sound was sweet. It does scream at high RPMs which is great when I need to get noticed in traffic but down lower it hums with a low deep tone.
The look was better than what I expected with the black series. The overall look of the bike is greatly enhanced taking off the potato shooter.
The performance seems about the same maybe a little quicker off the line but then again that could just be the new found sound of the ZX14 engine.
Still not cheap but makes the bike come alive.

Outstanding sound!
Instructions not clear. Had to refer to you tube. Don't forget to remove rubber center stand stopper from stock pipe. Try not to damage it. Great sound, purchased the silencer but I haven't installed it. Not too loud.

Does the ecu need to be remapped once this exhaust is installed?
A shopper on Jan 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Remapping is not required if your goal is simply improving exhaust sound. You will still get an improved performance as you dump considerable weight and allow the engine to breath easier.

However, if you choose to do so, remapping will provide additional engine performance.
