Tour Master Transition Series 4 Jacket

A proper touring jacket must serve multiple purposes as no two days or roads are alike. Transitioning from one climate to another demands different features and the Transition Series 4 delivers. From a cold early morning ride to a humid afternoon ride, opening up the Pipeline vents on the chest, underarms, and back maximize airflow. Should your ride go from warm to downright wet and cold, the jacket's Rainguard barrier, along with the waterproof zippers on the Pipeline vents, and the removable insulated liner will keep you dry and cozy. For further weather protection, the Transition 4 jacket also features Tour Master's patented Aqua-Barrier Under-The-Helmet Hood deploys from the collar. Worn over your head and under the helmet the Aqua-Barrier hood will prevent rain from seeping down the back of your neck.

Features:

  • Carbolex 600 denier outer shell material
  • 1680 denier Ballistic in the elbows
  • Pipeline venting with pinch vents provides excellent ventilation when open and waterproofing when closed
  • Aqua-Barrier under-the-helmet hood to help eliminate seepage in the collar area (US patents #8,156,573 and #7,779,485) and hides under collar
  • Action back rear panel for extra comfort
  • Phoslite 360º reflective piping and Tour Master’s signature reflective rear triangle help increase nighttime visibility
  • The microfiber lined collar and cuffs are soft yet durable
  • Adjustable, elastic and snap sleeve takeup straps at the forearm and bicep help secure elbow armor and material
  • Updated CE-Approved shoulder and elbow armor with an articulated triple-density back protector
  • Waterproof, breathable Rainguard® barrier
  • Removable thermal liner
  • Zippered chest map pocket, fleece-lined hand hand warmer pockets, internal pouch pockets and mobile media pocket, dual zippered fanny pack

Phil M on Aug 25, 2017
I bought it for my son who recently purchase a motorcycle. He was looking for a good warm jacket. I saw this jacket explained on a YouTube video and I liked the way it was made. After reading the excellent reviews that it got, I know this was the jacket for him. When I showed it to him, he liked it too so I made the purchase.
Pamela K on Aug 6, 2017
4 Seasons, great reviews, decent price.
Raymond L on Jul 18, 2017
Had a previous transition 4, it saved my hide when I went down, I noticed they have more protection down the back also. Both times I've chosen the safety yellow....I want to be seen! Jim

Wanted a 3 season riding jacket.
Chad V on Mar 21, 2017
Replacing my current jacket. The rain proofing lasts only a few years.
Mark K on Feb 25, 2017
I've owned an earlier version of this jacket and liked it's quality and price value. Revzilla's reviews were helpful in making the decision on replacing my jacket with the same brand.
Richard M on Jan 17, 2017
Each 'Transition' model gets better than the previous. Great product for the price.
MARK S on Jan 5, 2017
price and looks, function is the main point and it does the same as some of the higher priced jackets. The only exception I have found is possible problems with the zipper pull tab, which can be fixed with a 10 cent ziptie so save myself 200 bucks.
Dustin W on Jan 5, 2017
This jacket is warm. I know it says 3 season, but really it's the tail end of fall, winter and very early spring. It's awesome, great styling, feels sturdy and well designed, but if you live in a warm climate, you'll sweat. For folks in the Northern latitudes, it's fantastic. I honestly love the jacket, but I can't wear it above 55 degrees. I forgot to mention, it is also really good at visibility (high visibility version). People behind me can really see it, even at night.
Derek L on Nov 28, 2016
Seems to be a reasonably priced, good looking, functional jacket to wear through the winter for my commuting.
Brian D on Oct 28, 2016
I had a Transition 2 and it was a great jacket. It kept me dry in the biggest down pours and when I went down recently it did its job. The Transition 4 basically took all of my minor nit picks and fixed them.
Bryan H on Oct 14, 2016
This is my jacket that I commute with. Very versatile all through the year. Very warm for the winter as well. It has a removable liner and many pockets to put your belongings in. I would recommend this jacket to anyone.
JATINDER L on Sep 30, 2016
I have a series 3 and I love it but I burnt a small area on the arm so got the new on
Mohinder L on Sep 28, 2016
It was the only jacket that met my needs that was within my budget.
Ben B on Sep 27, 2016
Apparently, a great 3 season jacket. I'm a little disappointed there was no grey/gun metal in LG Tall, but them's the breaks
David W on Aug 26, 2016
Had all the features I wanted in a jacket like a hood and hand warmer pockets and was reasonably priced
Craig C on Aug 22, 2016
Absolutely one the best 3+season jackets around, and a great value. If you're looking for a 3/4-length jacket to use from 25 to 90 degrees (F) look at this one. With the removable liner, multiple vents, more pockets to lose stuff in (always hunting thru them), integrated helmet-friendly hoodie and adjustable waist and arms this is the best...
R S on Aug 14, 2016
Real happy with Tourmaster Air Intake 4 jacket. Wanted colder weather jacket based on AI4 fit and quality, natural choice. Looks good and fits very well. I will get it out there when the weather cools off.

Price and Style
Paul H on Aug 2, 2016
Price and prior ownership of Tourmasrter Jacket but the back armor was poor quality and the only option for upgrading it had to go in upside down.
Ralph M on Jul 15, 2016
Awesome features for the price. More comfortable than my Sand 2 adventure jacket.
Edwin A on Jun 30, 2016
Owned a Transition 2, loved it, until a friend lit themselves on fire and I tackled/bear hugged them to put them out, melting the jacket enough that it wasn't waterproof anymore. Wore it from -17F to 60F, and it was 100% comfortable anywhere in the top end of that range. Wanted a new one to replace the old, and it's time for another lap on this thing.
Dean J on Jun 23, 2016
good performance with tourmaster using past products, hope this jacket maintains good performance per dollar that other tourmaster products have for me.
justin h on Jun 9, 2016
I was looking for a reasonably priced multi-weather, waterproof jacket. I also wanted high visibility, especially for riding in the dusk, dark and or rain. I read a lot of reviews on jackets and in this price range the tour master transition four had very good reviews. Once we have used the jackets I will be glad to provide a review.
Matthew F on Jun 4, 2016
Versatility and warm weather comfort
Greg S on May 30, 2016
Had features I was looking for like removable liner, zip to pants, decent venting, and comfortable with reasonable armor. I don't trust any drivers, so the hi-viz was a must.
Graham N on May 26, 2016
I did pretty extensive research prior to selecting this jacket. My first actual 'riding jacket' though over half a million miles on a bike. I've worn it for a quick 150 mile ride so far in temps ranging from 75 - 45 degrees and found it met my expectations, no rain but warm when cool riding and lots of 'air' in warmer temperatures. Got a big ride coming, so we'll see. Large fit perfectly, 6' 190 lbs and been told I look good in it, always a plus!
Ted W on Apr 15, 2016
I was looking for a good jacket to keep me warm while riding in cold weather. The positive reviews and Tour Master reputation for quality made this an easy decision. Can't wait to get the jacket and try it out!

Jeffrey G on Apr 5, 2016
Met all of my specs. had excellent reviews
George M on Mar 2, 2016
I tried on a lot of different jackets of all prices and the Transition 4 fit me the best. The sleeves aren't too long!!
Eric H on Feb 25, 2016
Just returned a jacket I recently purchased from you. It was to short. This jacket appears a little longer and will cover my backside better. What sold me on this jacket was the young man doing the online presentation. He is very good and really sold me. Hang on to him.
Steve P on Feb 14, 2016
Had a Tour Master Transition 2 jacket and better than anything other jacket I tried for under $1000.

what is the main difference between this and the transition 3?
A shopper on Sep 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: -Collar houses a rain hood
-Quick on/off neck gaiter
-Redesigned wrist closures
-Waist pockets now have lined handwarmer pockets behind them
-Back vents are different (one long horizontal vent on the 3 where the 4 has two vertical vents)
-Updated shoulder and elbow armor
-Styling and cosmetic differences

I picked up a Transition 3 on closeout but may break down and buy this jacket soon. That rain hood looks like a great idea.
How does the material in this jacket (600D Carbolex, 1680 Ballistic) compare with Olympia's 500D Cordura and Ballistic Mesh?
A S on Sep 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Its very similar. I just replaced my older Olympia jacket with one of these. In fact, I think Tourmaster has great quality just like Olympia does,
One of the first things the "expert" in the video says to do is to replace the back armor. With what? The shape is unique and you only offer the exact same kind of armor that comes with it.
Frank D on Dec 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I called. The guy recommended Klim D3O Viper T5 Pro Back Protector (CE2). It can be cut to fit.
Sorry if this double posts. How low does this jacket go? Also how does it compare to the Revit outback in both fit and protection? I am looking for a jacket that comes down past my waist and will fit me good (5xl+) Thank you
A shopper on Sep 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thank you. I purchased it and had my first ride (to work) tonight. It is definitely a beefy jacket and comes down great. For those like me 53.5 chest the 5xl fits good maybe a little loose with all liners in.
Is the exterior of the jacket waterproof? Does rain bead up and roll off? If no, how long before the outer shell becomes waterlogged?
A shopper on Feb 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Have not noticed water beading up on the exterior, but the jacket did keep me and everything in the pockets dry on my trip to Alaska and the artic circle. Good jacket. We had lots of rain and weather changes. Some days start out with all vents open and no liner and end closed up with liner in. Jacket performed very well. George
What is the cold temperature range of the transition 4 jacket?
A shopper on Aug 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It's pretty warm. The included liner has been fine for my half-hour commute at 38F; I should be able to report on colder temps soon. For a recent hour+ commute at about the same temp, I used an electric liner on low heat and was comfortable.
will this jacket connect with tour master caliber pants?
neil b on Oct 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hi Dan. This should in fact fit the Tourmaster Caliber Pants via the 8" pant/jacket rear zipper. Late reply however for others. Great jacket!
this jacket connect to the tour master caliber pants?
A shopper on Oct 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Not sure if it will or not, didn,t get the pants, just got the jacket, but am very pleased with the jacket! Quality is excellent and very warm!
Hi I am a big guy and ride a Vstar. I'm trying to decide between this and a Revi't Outback. My main concern is will it come down low on me? I currently wear an Olympia airglide 4 and it stops at my navel. Also concerned which one will provide better protection. Thank you.
A shopper on Sep 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: That was one of mine concerns too, so far I have not had a problem with it riding up on me. I have not felt like I'm mooning the world or felt the cold air down my pants. It does a pretty good just to stay in place. One concern for me is I wear a full face and the hood or rain liner feels like a neck roll in football. If I lift my head up, I can feel it back there. I've only rode twice wit the jacket and so far so good! Hope this helps.
Will this attach to a 360-zip pant, such as the Dainese New Drake Air?
A C on Jun 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: There is only a 10 inch zipper in the rear of this jacket.
