They work! Pretty comfortable, too.
First up is sizing info. Jon from Revzilla emailed me strap sizes for the 2XL/3XL so I could compare to the L/XL set I got as a gift. From Jon's email:
"I just measured the un-stretched length of the velcro portions."
Top Neoprene: 22.50"
Top Stretch Velcro: 24.00"
Bottom Neoprene: 22.25"
Bottom stretch Velcro: 18.50"

To avoid me doing the measurements differently, I'll just say that where the knee guards attach to my leg, my thigh is 22" and calf, with socks on, is 18". The X/XL is pretty snug. Any bigger and these would be REALLY tough to put on, but I think the 2XL/3XL would be TOO big.

I tuck these into Fox Comp 5 boots and usually wear outside the boot pants. I haven't worn them a lot yet, but I do like them. Quite comfortable on the bike. A little bulky to walk around in, so I limit my walking while wearing them. Took a spill into some brush and dirt, landing on my right leg. I was back up and riding again in seconds, and didn't have any pain or soreness later.

Great purchase for my riding. I just wish Thor would publish the actual strap sizes instead of "Fits most riders..."

A great product for everyday road use
The Knee guards are pretty spot on. I got it so that I could have extended protection for my knees(bonus that it extends down to your calves and thighs) different to a knee armour insert for your kevlar jeans.

Fit is pretty decent. If you have tree trunks for legs just keep in mind it might be a bit tight so maybe go a size up, but works perfect for me. Comfort is on point, it moves with you so well that you can't even tell its there. Can get hot if you're off your bike, but the moment you start moving on the bike the air flow is all good.

Protection wise, haven't crashed in them(hope to keep it that way) but the build quality is very sturdy, I have had sticks fly at them and stuff and didn't feel a thing.

Only cons I can think about is that it scratches easily so careful if you're OCD about that. It also perhaps could use with a leather or some kind of cover over the metal joints as it can scratch your tank, also can be a tad trickier to grip your tank with your legs(easily solved with a tank grip).

Overall I'd fully recommend this product!

Great protection
I bought this with protection un mind and was not disappointed. They are comfortable while riding and fairly comfortable off the bike too. Keep in mind though that the metal parts can scratch your bike, I solved this by sticking the soft side of a Velcro on the metal parts, not fancy but effective.

Works as intended
They work great and aren't uncomfortable at all. I use them daily though and the smaller straps to tighten them could probably be made a little bit more durable as I am a bit worried how they will hold up from a lot of use. Otherwise 0 issues.

After 2-3 use, stitches came out
In picture, it looks very durable. Impressed and bought it. Used 2-3 times. Normally I wear aerostitch pant, but sometimes due to laziness like to wear this. But stitches came out from right side one, and latch is useless now.

Plastic and style looks good, but reliability is the issue. Now I have to figure out how to get it stitched and fully utilize my money.

The optimal solution for the legs protection (price / quality)
Strong plastic, good hold on the foot.
Protection performed using a high strength material. Knee pads are very well adjusted to the individual anatomical features of a particular owner and in close contact to the knee.
Solid fixation knee pads to the leg via wide cuffs with Velcro. As an additional attachment, Thor Force Knee Pads have two stretch straps.
Knee pads are well thought out ventilation, so when driving, definitely not hot. In the evening, even during long stops, too, no particular discomfort is not felt. During the day, in hot weather, during prolonged standing in traffic, perhaps you will be little uncomfortable.

It scratched up my bike
I want to start off and say that I bought these knee pads in order to feel more protected while riding my bike. I recently got into an accident where I wish I had knee pads and purchasing these knee pads made me feel extra safe and gave me the confidence I had lost in my accident.

I was too excited to get my confidence back in riding that I didn't think about these knee pads scratching up my bike until It was too late. I now have to buy parts for my bike since a simple scratch cleaner couldn't fix the scratches the knee pads put on my bike.

Taking these things on and off is the most annoying thing ever too. If you keep them on and walk around they start to fall from your knee and it gets extremely irritating. I then spend 90% of my time always trying to tighten them or pull them up to my knee. This makes it uncomfortable during long rides since I have to put them on so tight. Maybe I am putting them on wrong or doing something wrong but I wouldn't recommend this product. I don't have the money right now but I bet there is something better out there, but I do like how these knee pads got my confidence back.

will it fit under blue jean pants?
Heather V on Oct 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Depends on the pants. Certainly not skinny jeans, but they will fit under baggy jeans. These are great under off-road pants with MX boots. But if you are going to be wearing them with street clothes, if recommend something more comfortable, like the Forcefield armor.
Are these acceptable to use on the street? I want to buy a gsxR-1000 and since I dont seem to fit any pants(im 48-50" waist) I am considering using these under my jeans. Will they protect the knees the event of a fall-off on asphalt?
Jon C on May 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Not trying to be rude here but in all honesty your best option would be to lose weight and buy some riding pants. The bike you want is meant to go very fast on pavement and should you fall it will be like falling onto a giant bench grinder and while impact is a big concern, when you slide across pavement at high speed abrasion will be almost, if not equally, as high of a concern. This may be something good for in the meantime but you may want to seriously consider finding some leather or tough synthetic pants (maybe even get some made). Almost all gear is cheaper than skin graphs and physical therapy!
