Comfortable, but not completely waterproof
I purchased these boots to wear on a 10 day, 3195 mile trip from Colorado to Hinton, Alberta. During the trip I experienced temps ranging from the upper 40's to upper 80's and encountered precipitation which included both light and heavy rainfall as well as some sleet.

The fit and feel of the boots were comfortable both on and off the bike. You can take them out of the box and wear them all day without worry of aching feet at the end of the day.

Touted as being "waterproof", these boots obviously have little airflow. However, even while riding during the hottest temps I did not find that my feet got uncomfortably hot. And, as expected, they kept my feet warm while riding in the lower temps experienced.

As stated in the summary, these boots were not 100% waterproof. They held up in light and moderate rain. However, on the final day I rode for 2 hours in heavy, continuous rain and when the boots came off, both soles of my feet/socks were wet. The water had somehow seeped in through where the sole and upper of the boot meet.

Great for short rides
These boots are great for my short commuter trips. The ankle protection seems solid and the leather by the side inner foot gives it extra durability when up-shifting. They are longer and slimmer in style than most boots but I got used to the look. The longer Velcro straps really help in keeping the laces out of the way. I wear a US size 10.5 and the Euro size 45 fit comfortably.

Great for the long rides
I bought these boots for my 140- mile (round trip) commute early this summer and have ridden almost 8,000 miles in them so far. The boots still look like new despite having weathered several downpours on the Interstate, a couple of slow crawls through construction zones and even an 800-mile day.
On the downside, I ALWAYS have another pair of shoes with me to wear when I reach my destination. Although comfy on the bike these boots were NOT made for walking!

Works as advertised!
I've been riding in these boots for about two weeks now just waiting to get caught in a heavy rain shower. Today I can say that happened and when it was time to take off the boots my feet were nice and dry! Couldn't have asked for a better product. They are very comfortable to walk in. No break in period really needed. You can tell these boots are Italian influenced by the way the boot goes to a narrow toe, so needless to say the style speaks for itself. I've have received several compliments while off the bike. Some people couldn't even tell they were riding boots. Overall very happy with this purchase!

I'm a size 11.5 and I got a size 46 which fits perfect with a little bit extra at the toe. It works great keeping the Washington rain out.

Comfortable, but have some shortcomings.
If you're considering this boot, and you currently wear one of TCX's leather/Gortex touring boots, here are some things to note:

I have wide feet, but have always worn TCX boots, which tend to run a bit narrow, because they have served me very well since the Oxtar days.

When I removed these boots from the box and saw that the soles were even narrower than my TCX touring boots, I thought I was in big trouble, but they are more comfortable than my touring boots. The Revzilla video is spot on regarding the width. Somehow your foot is able to expand within the boot despite the narrow width of the sole.

Coming from a zipper and Velcro boot, I find the lacing system very tedious, but I knew what I was getting into when I bought the boots. It's something to think about if you're used to the speed and ease of TCX's other systems.

I don't notice any difference in temperature between my leather boots and these boots, but the X-cubes might cool off a bit faster once you're moving.

Pros:

Comfortable .
Stylish.
Compact.
Good grip from the soles.

Cons (after less than half a season with them):

Form over function when it comes to the shifter patch on the left boot. It isn't big enough. It simply matches the right boot, so the "regular" leather in the middle of the left boot gets deformed and worn.

The Michelin soles are wearing very quickly. The tread on the left boot has already worn down to the sipes, and the only walking I do in the boots is from my house to my garage. The rest is simply putting my feet down when stopped. I expected better wear properties.

There is a very strong odor from these boots for about a week, or two, when they're new. It's from the Michelin soles.

I have not tested the boots in the rain. I'm not sure I'd trust them to be waterproof due to the recessed tongue.

I purchased these boots to use while my leather TCX boots are being resoled. They are relatively affordable, comfortable, and provide some measure of safety. I just don't expect them to last very long.

Protective, Economical, Not Unfashionable
Great boot. Very sturdy/protective and with excellent traction, these boots offer whole-foot and ankle protection. Plus they are waterproof! They also don't stick out as riding boots when worn with jeans, meaning you can transition from street to the office or the store a bit easier/quicker. My only gripe, and a minor one, is that you really need to wear a high sock with these, otherwise the rubbing at the ankle is a bit uncomfortable. I suppose that may work itself out once they are a bit more broken in. Again, a great boot, with a strong "BUY" recommendation.

Love these boots!
Good styling, love the lacing system with velcro, and very comfortable. I can walk around in these all day. The soles stick to the road very well, although I have not tried them in the rain yet so I can't judge how well they grip in the wet or protect from heavy amounts of water. They don't breathe much, so by the time I take them off at the end of the day my feet are ready for fresh air but I never get the impression that they're too warm. I had to order a size up, since apparently they're a bit small. I'm a size 11 US, so a 11.5 would have been perfect. A full size up is just slightly large for me, but still very comfortable.

Much wider then they appear
When I first took them out of the box I thought no way are these wide enough to fit. Have to say I was pleasantly surprised when they did. I wanted a lower boot with good protection. Though I don't plan to ride in the rain you never know so spent the extra $$ and went for the waterproof version.

The perfect shoe size for me is 8.5 4W. I ordered the size 43 (listed as 9) and they fit perfect. Actually have a little extra room on one side. I do plan to swap out the base insoles with some Dr. Scholls for added arch support.

They feel good walking around and seem to have good support around calf. I also like the inner/outer ankle and heel protection. Will see/hope since they are waterproof that they breath more then a plain leather boot as the summer heats up.

The only 'issue' I have with them is I wish they did not have such a pointy toe, I think they could have rounded the toe a little more.

I asked an angel from Revzilla, named Caleb, about his TCX boots. His answer was so sublime that I bought myself a pair immediately, and sold my Dianese C2B Pro's. These boots offer much much protection, comfort, and style.

Very good quality at a very good price, I love them a lot, although they get little hot in my climate, but on rainy season they keep my feet dry.

I am riding a lot more often these days and have been caught in numerous rain storms. I have rain gear, but my shoes always were soaked. I wanted to keep my feet dry and have some protection as well!

Extremely comfortable boot. I haven't had a chance to try out the waterproof-ness of this boot, but it required zero break-in time for comfort. The Michelin tread is excellent.

Bought these for my son; I have the older TCX X-Cube and love them - comfortable, warm, waterproof, reasonable protection and they work if I have to walk around off the bike.
Hervey W on Mar 20, 2015
Waterproof for the Florida summers. Good looking and appear to be lightweight. Video was very helpful.
worn boots for a month. They are exactly as described and very comfortable. Somewhat warm in the heat - because of the waterproof layer?
Florida on Feb 11, 2015
Loved the previous version. Held up well for many years. Only complaint was the sole is a little slippery, and the new version looks like they may have improved that with the Michelin sole. Will review this one after a few rides. Revzilla customer service is 5 stars!!

Have you used them on the East coast hot humid summers? how did they work?
How breathable is it? Do your feet sweat in them?
.
What about spring / fall with temps in the 60's?
Did they keep your feet warm?
Paul M on Sep 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I bought the boots earlier this year and did wear them on a ride to Ocean City MD from the DC area in May weather was warm and the boots were very hot on my feet not very breathable at all, Also on the ride back while getting on the bike on a hill it tipped over on me, tried to hold it up but couldn't and my right ankle got pinned under the bike. The boot gave almost no protection and I tore a ligament and two tendons. The bike went down slowly so there was no sudden impact and I think had I been wearing Timberland's, which I usually wear< there would have been more protection as the sole is way more rigid. All in all I don't recommend the boots and if you do get them I would get the non waterproof version as it should be much cooler
I wear a 10/ 10.5 shoe based on how wide the shoe is how does the sizing run accuratly/big/small?
A shopper on Apr 13, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Personally I say it's exact fitting. So order the size you wear now. However, they are pretty skinny on the sides so if you have wide feet, might want to consider going up a size or different product.
Hi,

I am a size 10.5 with a slightly wide foot. will size 44 fit or should I go 45 in the TCX-Xcube?
A shopper on Aug 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: TCX X-Cube EVO WP boot

Over the years had 2 pair from that company and in that format

Use them now AND Love them. Just sorry they are not made in the U.S.

I also have a slightly wide foot, bought the boot to my shoe size and they fit

My suggestion go with your normal size

Good luck and hope this will help

Beemer Boy
Are these acceptable for a Track Day? Ride Smart requires boots that "fully cover the ankle and extend upwards 3 inches"?
Amy C on Aug 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: They would fulfill that basic criteria, but I'd probably buy a more substantial boot if you plan to do frequent track days. These are an excellent street boot however. Also, these are the waterproof version and get quite toasty, I'd recommend the air version if you live in even a slightly warm climate. I live in Alabama and own both versions and use the waterproof version as a winter boot.
Where are these boots manufactured? At TCX's factory in Italy or China?
Jason J on Dec 15, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Jason

They are made --------------------- acording to the label inside the shoe in Indonesia

Never looked for it till your question, thought they came from ITALY.
Suprised and more.

Hope this will help
