Looks good feels good on the foot
The install was pretty easy. You do have to work the peg onto the mount pretty good. Installing on the lower mount setting puts the bolt in a tight place where you only get about 1/6th of a turn out of your wrench. Make sure you have a 13mm for that bolt and an 11mm for the rubber pad if you are installing that.

Everything seems to be made very well. You use the original spring and pin from the stock pegs.

I only have done street riding with the rubber pad on. The peg feels natural and doesn't hinder braking or shifting or dropping my foot down when I stop. The wider base feels better on the foot for a more relaxed ride.

Simple, effective upgrade
The stock foot pegs on the R1200GSW are, shall we say, not great. I mean, they do the job. You can rest your feet on them. They aren't in danger of falling off the bike, or of breaking during normal use. That said, they're also about half the width they probably should be, particularly if you ever stand on your pegs. I found myself mostly just hooking the heel of my boot on them when seated. I replaced them with these pegs from SW-MOTECH and have been very happy. I mounted them in the low position, giving myself just a bit more leg room. They provide a nice, wide platform in both the seated and standing position, and I don't find myself just hooking a heel anymore. The rubber pads are easily installed/removed with a screwdriver. Frankly, I almost never put the pads on because I find them agreeably comfortable, even on long highway trips, without them. The pads are always in my top case if I decide to put them on. Look, there's nothing fancy here. If you're a hardcore dirt rider (and if you are, you likely aren't doing it on THIS bike), there might be better options. For most of us that own these dual sport beasts, these pegs meet our needs, are far more comfortable and versatile than the stock pegs, are easy to install, and are reasonably priced compared with other aftermarket pegs. I'm completely satisfied with my purchase and recommend these pegs.

Awesome upgrade over stock footpegs.
These are a great upgrade over the OEM footpegs. I like the wide footing which gives my boot better grip while standing and seated. The rubber pad helps eliminates foot fatigue on long hwy rides. Easy install and reasonably priced considering other options.

Be Careful With Installation
These footpads are a must for your GSA. The stock GSA pegs are great for riding while wearing your riding boots but not so much for commuting. these new peas have saved the bottom of my expensive work shoes. I know I should wear proper riding boots any time I get on the bike, but I do not. When you want to take off the rubber pad for the rough stuff, simply remove the 10mm bolt from the bottom. Even better, the wrench that come with the tool kit on the GSA is 10mm.

When I first installed these I did not get the spring situated just right on the left peg. I called the always helpful guys at Revzilla and they were extremely helpful. I attempted the installation a second time and made sure the spring was situated on the bike frame correctly. Now it is good to go....

Fit of pegs to adapter is poor
Once installed these pegs are great.

I had a lot of difficulty getting the cast pegs to fit onto the aluminum adapters for my R1200GS. The set I received had to be forced together. On one side it was possible to do by tightening the bolt. On the other side, that was not the case and the aluminum thread stripped. Luckily enough thread was left to finish the install after I forced the peg onto the adapter with a mallet.

I'd like to move the pegs to the lower riding position, but now that I have them on, I probably can't get them off.

Rubber pads are great improvement for everyday riding
While wearing my BMW road boots, the sawteeth edges of the stock pegs occasionally found my shin just above the boot with painful scrapes the result. Most of my riding is casual and on paved or gravel roads or farm lanes. The rubber pads eliminated the problem of cutting my shins when I happened to make contact with the pegs. The overall shape and wider stance of the peg is more comfortable as well. They are slightly lower than stock which is a plus as also.

Great upgrade!
Terrific upgrade to my BMW R1200GSW. These should come stock on the bike! Feels great when off road and standing, feels great when on the highway. Very easy to install and the quality is top notch. Definitely a must have upgrade to any BMW GS.

Will these pegs make bike more comfortable for tall riders?
A shopper on Apr 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: In a word--yes. The lowered position reduces the angle the knee has to bend.
