SW-MOTECH Blaze Sport Saddlebag System KTM 390 Duke

The SW-MOTECH Bags-Connection Blaze Sport Saddlebag System offers an innovative way to mount soft saddlebags onto sport-style motorcycles. The system features mounting arms that quickly attach to the motorcycle and then slip into channels located on the backside of each bag. These arms make installation a breeze and support the bags to prevent side-to-side movement and potential contact with the exhaust or rear tire. The mounting arms detach quickly to retain the stock look of the motorcycle when the bags are removed. The SW-MOTECH Bags-Connection Blaze Sport Saddlebags feature durable YKK RC-Fuse zippers and are expandable from 14 to 21 liters per bag.

Features:

  • Made from high quality 1680 ballistic nylon
  • Volume 14-21 liters per saddlebag
  • Solid panniers prevent contact between saddlebags and tires
  • Quick lock pannier bracket
  • Main compartment with top loading function and outside pocket with side loading function
  • Reflective trim
  • RC-Fuse Zippers
  • 2 Year warranty

Included Accessories:

  • Mounting hardware
  • Waterproof inner bags

Fantastic product - well worth the cost
I bought the SW-Mortech Blaze saddlebags becasue I wanted something that I could use for short 3-4 day trips on my KTM 390 Duke. I wanted something that was solid and stable, but also wanted something that could be easily removed and not affect the look of the bike, since the majority of the time I wouldn't have the saddlebags on the bike. I'd previously purchased the SW-Motech Alu-Rack and a SW-Motech tail bag so I was familiar with the fit and quality of the company's product. The Blaze saddlebags did not disappoint. Install was straight forward; however, you should be aware that the rear end of the saddlebags sits slightly rear of the factory trun signals when installed. For that reason the turn signals are obscured from view for vehicles to the side and slightly back of your bike. This may not be too much of a concern but I ended up mounting aftermarket turn signals further back on the bike using a license plate mount. I had perviously eliminated the rear fender so now the license plate and my new smaller turn signals sit right behind and below the tail light, and behind the saddlebags. I wasn't too bothered by relocating the turn signals as I had planned to replace them anyway since the stock turn sgnals sometimes would get in the way as I swung my leg over the bike. Once done with the intial install of the mounting brackets it literally takes less than 30 seconds to put the saddlebags on or take them off and they are absolutely solid and stable when in place.

You can ride two up on the bike without any interference from the bags, and the capacity of the bags was sufficient for a 5 day warm weather trip which covered 1300 miles. Even fully expanded (and fully packed) the bags felt solid and didn't cause any problems at all. Build quality is premium, and while I didn't get any rain at all during my trip the waterproof bags that came with the saddlebags were a welcome insurance policy.

In short, the bags aren't cheap, and they do take some effort to install if you want to retain the sideways visiblity of your turn signals, but they are truly a quality product and are a perfect fit, both in size and aesthetics, for the 390 Duke.
