Did not last much over 2 years
As a daily MC rider w/ 22 years year-round riding experience, reliability is the one aspect of my equipment that I hold sacrosanct. These SW Moto lights are NOT reliable. In less than a year, the clear rubber cover for the switch started to haze and crack. The reflectors of the lights started to pit and corrode, the aluminum on the inside of the housings started to pit and corrode. Now, after a little over two years of use, the housings are so corroded, that the screws holding the bulbs in place have frozen, and snapped off today when I attempted to change the bulbs. ...bulbs have also been very unreliable - the last set of Sylvania bulbs experienced breakage of the BASE of the filament wires. They did not burn out. Both straight wires of each filament broke at the base.

Ok, but...
Good product, but why:
-Are the spacer in raw aluminium finish? Why not make them black to match the rest of the product? Or KTM orange.
I had them powder coated in black matt.

-Installed these on my KTM 1190 R, unfortunately I need to carry an extra tool to tighten / loosen these, couldn't these screws match the standard size as the rest of the bike?

Install:
Easy, loosen OEM screws, fit spacers and brackets, tighten (with loctite), done.

Use:
I am a bit hesitant with using heavy halogen or 20w+ Led lights on these brackets, maybe because I figure the extra weight may loosen something when going into the heavy outback. Also note that you should consider using the SW Motech OEM lights or a light fitting of equal or smaller size, as the location does not leave a lot of room (lights have to be mounted on top of the brackets, not on the bottom - balance issue I assume?)

Good product and a sound option when you don't want to mount the lights on the crashbars.

Ok bracket, little pricey for what you get.

Advertised they were suitable for "Denali" type aux lights, but my denali d4s didn't fit without significant grinding on the back of my lights. Otherwise they look to be well engineered and a quality product.

Anyone with these mounts know if the mounts must be removed to remove the side panels of the 1190 Adventure. Also do these hold the lights steady or is there a lot of vibration?
steven s on Jan 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No, the panels come right off. I have the square, Rigid lights on my 1190 so the fit is tight, but I did not have to remove the lights to get the panels off. I cannot detect any vibration. If you search YouTube for "California Hwy 96 March 2017 KTM 1190" you can see the lights do not shake. (Though the GoPro does!)
Will this mount work the the TouraTech upper crash bars?
