New favorite jacket
Admittedly, I haven't purchased any $500 jackets, so I can't compare to those. However, this is my third $200-300 jacket, and it's absolutely my favorite.

A lot of motorcycle jackets are a bit stiff, but this one is incredibly supple and comfortable. It has better ventilation than my $300 jacket, better move-ability while riding, and great styling if you're into the cafe racer type thing. Honestly with the zip-in lining and ventilation, you could get away with calling this a 4-season jacket (provided you don't live in some seriously extreme climates). The fit is also not tight, so sneaking a sweatshirt underneath it wouldn't be difficult in particularly cold areas. If I could, I might add maybe one more ventilation hole somewhere to get a little more airflow for hot days, but it's not absolutely necessary.

Overall, great jacket.

Great jacket for the price.
Great jacket. Lots of pockets, seals up well to keep the wind out but the venting also works great when you need some cooling.
I'm 5' 10" and around 180lbs, 40" chest and wear 32" pants. I went with a medium and the fit is mostly good. It's on the big side, but not so big that it looks or feels too big, the sleeves are a good length and the shoulders are right, but it's a little boxy in the lower half. The snap adjusters help a little, but it could fit a little closer around the waist. I'd definitely call it a relaxed fit, suited to layering up to keep warm and still allowing freedom to move around rather than a modern slim fit more suited to taking Instagram photos next to your cafe racer.
The winged logo on the back of the shoulders is there on the brown version, but it's printed in that same orange color as on the black, which is so close to the color of the jacket that you can barely notice it unless the light hits it right and you can see that it's shiny against the matte fabric.
Only other complaints: the zipper is brass and feels solid, but it's on the small side and is kind of hard to get started. Also the jacket had a lot of creases from being folded and packaged for who knows how long, but they're finally starting to straighten out after some wear.

I went with the brown version of this jacket because it looked a bit more subtle. First thing I did was take off the patch on the arm by simply cutting the strings (note that it is also glued to the jacket, but nothing that some soap, water, and elbow grease won't remove.)

Wore the jacket today on a ride in which the temperature started out at 60 degrees and ended up at 78 degrees. Jacket was very comfortable throughout. I'm not going to wear this in anything above 85 degrees, but with the vest zipped in and a light long-sleeve shirt, I've ventured out with the thermometer in the low 40s and was plenty comfortable.

My favorite features of this jacket are the zip vents in the arms and above the hips. The ease with which the vest zips out is also a bonus. Pads in the elbows and shoulder are harder than I would like, but still flexible enough and likely to do their job in the case of a fall. I haven't tried the built in shield pocket because I don't want to impact the comfort of the jacket while riding by having something hard in the side. Another bonus in the length of the jacket. Some of the stylish jackets that I've tried on barely go down to my belt, but these do down to the top of my back pocket and they have loops that will go around my belt if I want to keep them snug to my pants.

There are times when I feel like a reject from the old Battlestar Galactic TV show when I first put this jacket on, but I do like the styling and it's functional at a sweet price point.

Not bad enough to return.
If I had seen this jacket on display in a store, I would not have purchased it, mainly because the removable insulated liner is 1) a vest (so no insulation in the arms); and 2) it is THIN, the thinnest liner I have ever seen. Also, the "reflective trim for additional visibility" is a joke: it consists solely of a 1/8" wide band going across the back, way to small to be effective.

Now for the good points. The styling is fantastic, and is very comfortable. The exterior feels almost like a waxed cotton/canvas. The armor is way better than the Tourmaster jacket I have been using for the last 17 years. The ventilation system in the arms actually works... you can feel the airflow (unlike my Tourmaster jacket).

As for the fit, I am 6', 210 lbs. I sized it by the chest size (large), and ignored the waist size (which would have been a 3XL). But the jacket fits perfect.

So I am somewhat disappointed in the jacket; I don't think I will be able to use this in 50-degree weather. But I am not disappointed enough to return it. I'm sure it will be fine for mid-60s to mid-80s weather.
