The Power and the Glory Jacket is new for 2016 and it's aimed for you riders out there that are looking to tackle warm weather riding. You're going to have a combination of mesh with Speed and Strength's proprietary AR500 material in the impact zones to give you plenty of air flow. Now this could work for a variety of different motorcyclists out there from sport bike riders to sport touring riders to even more general just operate tour riders, this is going to be a nice multi functional piece.
Keep in mind, this is again a little bit more on that sporty side and you want it to fit nice and slim against your body. Now based on our experience, taking a look at Speed and Strength's size chart, you are going to want to size down one full size based on what Speed and Strength is recommending in their size chart from the measurements that we've been talking about. Now Speed and Strength is a brand that we know we love here at RevZilla and personally I think it's great because they don't just focus on one genre of riders. They really aim to include everyone from cruisers to urban riders to sport bike riders to retro riders, they're really trying to make a product that meets all demands. And with the Power and the Glory again, this is going to be a little more on that sporty side. Think two season functionality. Warm weather is really what they're going for and around the $180 price point, it's a nice beefy jacket to give you protection while still keeping you cool.
Now if you want to go with a full AR textile material, you want to get rid of the mesh, check out the Hammer Down Jacket. And if you want to jump up to something else, going to be more beefy with the AR1000 material, take a look at the Light Speed. But this is that new material that we're seeing from Speed and Strength in 2015 and they're carrying it out to 2016 with the new pieces that we're going to see rolling out. Now like I said, throughout the body on this you're going to see a combination of AR500 material which is kind of a flexible stretch material while still giving you abrasion resistance and in the air flow areas where you're not worried as much about the impact but you want maximum airflow, you are going to see their fierce mesh technology coming into play. Now starting with the collar and working our way through this, really nice low slung collar. You do have a snap to hold that closed.
The one issue that I do have is there's no snap back over there to really allow you to open this up and leave it open. I'm someone that likes to ride with my collar just opened up a hair and it's always a pain in the butt when that flap is hitting you in the bottom of the chin or snapping against your helmet, so I would have liked to see a little snap back added. YKK zips down through the main section. Now as we work our way from the shoulders on down, I love the accent stitching that they've done against the black. So you see the hi-viz coming in even in the accent stitching and then you're going to have CE rated volt armor in both the elbows as well as the shoulders as we work our way down with this.
You do have a snap adjuster right at the forearm and there is a little bit of elastication on there. Really nice comfortable feel to the overall cuff on this. Again, a AR500 material has a really nice feel and you don't have to worry about it riding up on you, so you get a nice full coverage out of this particular jacket.
Working your way down the front of this, you are going to see pops of reflectivity coming into play. And other than the fact that you have the Speed and Strength logo on the left-hand side, symmetry is really the name of the game with this. When you look at something like the Hammer Down and the Light Speed, they try to work in pops of asymmetry with this. This is definitely more of a symmetrical piece. As you work your way down, you can see that mass amount of mesh in the front and then you do have dual hand warmer pockets on either side.
Now one of the things to note with that AR500 material, it does have stretch and give, so you can see it really works nicely to move with you even if you're more of in a tucked down position. Now as you're looking down the arms, you're going to see reflectivity and the Speed and Strength logo and then also pops of reflectivity working down the arm as well. When you're working your way down the body on this, Velcro adjuster right down at the bottom at the hips just to fine tune this to make sure you have a nice snug articulated fit along the body. Starting at the top, working your way down, again low slung collar, you can see Speed and Strength logo done tastefully with a reflective pattern to the top. And then you're also going to have pops of reflectivity working your way down as you move from the top to the bottom both on the sides and then working its way through in the center of the jacket as well.
One of the things that Speed and Strength is really good about is that there is a back protector included in the CE level one Vault armor and it just is a nice feature for again, around that $180 price point gives a nice bang for your buck feature and the fact that all the armor's already included. You do have a litle bit of a dropped seat. Again, if you're in more of the tucked position, it's going to do a great job of covering where the pants end and the jacket begins and there is some belt loops in there to make sure it stays down nice and secure. You do have the Napoleon pocket over on the left-hand side and like I was talking about earlier, you do have those belt loop connections to make sure the jacket stay down nice and secure.
