Reviews & Questions
Simpson is late to motorcycle helmet market as they are more well know in the automotive market (SA helmets). I am a Simpson fan so I purchased the Ghost Bandit to replace my car application Simpson helmet I was using to bike ride.
The fit is snug as expected. I have a Klingon ridge on my cranium and Simpsons tend to be more oblong to accommodate me. I still needed to massage the internal foam to make it more comfortable.
The Ghost Bandit is noisier than I expected with a slight whistle in the upper right face shield attach point. Ventilation is okay but not as breezy as I would like. Vision opening is average for a full face but maybe not as good as an ADV helmet. The chin shield works too well as with the shield in place, the visor easily fogs when not moving. The internal sun shield is a nice feature but it does not extend down far enough so there is a gap where i have to look under it to see the instruments on the bike. The internal space for an intercom system works very well with my Sena.
On the upside, I feel really safe with the Simpson helmet having a long history with their products. I hope I never test it though.
Overall, the Ghost Bandit is better than any of Simpson's car application helmets. It is quieter, has better shaping and vision and the internal sun shield is a nice feature. If you are a Simpson fan, I think this is a good fit. Are there better motorcycle helmets on the market, probably. But I still like it.

Appearance: When I first saw this subdued version, I thought I must have it. Looks are killer. Zero complaints there.
Fit: this fits perfectly, especially after 6-7 weeks wearing it 3-5 days a week. Broken in nicely. A little intermediate oval and the cheek pads are comfortingly tight. At high speeds, it doesn't lift or wobble on my head.
Airflow: I was worried there would be a lot of neck snapping when turning my head at high speed. Surprised at how little of this I get. My other helmet is an Arai Defiant and there is almost no difference looking forward or to the side. I do notice a little in the Simpson, but only a little. Helmet get fair airflow for super hot Colorado summer days.
Weight: very lightweight. Even with distinctive chin, I don't notice any front heaviness at all. Noticeably lighter than my Arai.
Cons: Not snell certified. Feels like it isn't as safe as Arai or my buddy's Shoei GT from a construction standpoint. Pin lock not included - considering the cost, I think it should. Paying for lightweight, great fit, awesome styling helmet. Would recommend if you already have a long haul super safe helmet and looking to turn some heads of others. Little pricey IMO since I paid only a little more for my Defiant and that feels noticeably "safer".

I live in Canada and it's January so I haven't gotten to ride with it yet so I can't speak for the noise or fogging complaints it's getting, however I will say this: as far as the noise I've ridden with a beanie helmet and a Simpson knock off for the past three years and even made a successful motovlogging channel on YouTube (DarthVTwin) with crystal clear audio and there's no way it's louder than those. Also if you ride a Harley like most guys who buy Simpson do, I doubt you're too concerned about the noise. And as for the fogging: it does have pin lock ready face shields
It fits perfect, don't listen to the whole sizing thing they say on the review video. I always rock a large and this one was just perfect in a large.
As I mentioned I live in Canada and when I order from ZLA every now and then customs will flag a parcel and make me pay customs fees. This one was flagged and landed me a heafty $103 extra in customs. So in total I paid almost $900 CAD for the helmet. I don't regret it though and I can't wait to wear it this summer.

First helmet was a skull cap and my second helmet is/was a Harley Davidson modular helmet.... onto the review
The helmet looks and feels amazing. No question looks wise Simpson is leading the way on aggressive looking helmets.
I've had it for over a month now and I will say invest in the anti-fog internal shield. This helmet fogs up quick without it. I have a feeling it has to do with the fact that the muzzle area has no liner so it reflects moisture. ( I actually thought about glueing some felt onto it to absorb some moisture)
Fitment wise it felt tight around the cheek area but give it a couple of weeks because it does loosen up and feels much better.
The vents are a bit of a pain because you have to open them individually ( there's only two) but you have to reach under the chin curtain (inside of the helmet) and I personally don't want to overstretch it so it's weird getting around it. The airflow while open or closed doesn't feel much different so I'm not sure they are the most useful. With that being said the helmet is not hot or cold is much quieter than my previous full face modular helmet and warmer sense the chin curtain does a great job at keeping air out of your face
The quality is amazing overall and I would have expected for this helmet to be Snell rated and not just DOT rated. Airflow around the helmet and over is amazing you don't feel any buffeting.
Overall I would highly recommend this helmet I don't know how they compare to your thousand dollar shoei but they are absolutely a huge step up from a modular helmet.
I would love to see a better vent opening/closing placement and may be a second event on the top of the helmet other than that I love this helmet!!!
