I don't think I ride super hard, but I'm not out for a leisurely cruise either. I found these Shinkos to have about 70% of the traction of what I am use to. Almost like early '90's tread compound technology. The front would always get a chatter push and several times both ends just let go completely, all at speeds and conditions on the same roads that don't even faze very well worn Michelin's. I tried different pressures too but to no avail.
Lifespan was rather limited for the rear as well. I got just under 1800 miles on them and the rear had not a lick of tread anywhere and I quit when it started showing belt (too far, I know). The front was still fine but starting to get a triangular profile.
In my opinion, the $100 savings wasn't worth the killjoy aspect. I wound up not having any confidence in them. I can't imagine trying them on a bike with horsepower. So if you ride mostly in the city and don't push much in the twisties and your main goal is just something round and black while saving some money, then these might be for you (although I still think the rear will square off rather quickly).
