Good bang for the buck
Overall works pretty good, I was looking for a simple system to play music and answer calls without having to remove my helmet. Install is a snap though I found the included double stick tape started to fail after a week. I used some heavy duty 3M tape I had lying around and solved that problem. There're are other fancier systems out their, but I like to concentrate on riding and not fumbling around with a ton of functions. One thing that really impressed me was battery life, when I opened the box and saw how small and light everything was I assumed it had a tiny battery that would require constant charging, but surprisingly the battery lasts a few days between charges and after two weeks of no use it still had a few hours of charge left. The only downside I've found is that at high speed the wind noise overpowers the speakers, but I assume that would be the case for any intercom unless you have a windshield.

This is a great value!
This communicator works great.
The installation is easy and it looks great in the helmet. The controls that stick outside the helmet are barely noticeable.
The battery lasts for about 8 hour of riding time.
My only complaint is about its limited range, at about 150 feet you start getting static and at about 300 feet the connection drops.

great for price point
I received product within 2 days of ordering, I installed it that day and it was very easy. the ear speakers were a little big for my helmet factory cut outs, so I very easily cut the helmet a little bigger for the speakers to fit. easy to use. I bought just to be able to receive phone calls while riding and works great. the sound quality is a little to much on the treble so I set my iPhone to bass boost which helped. overall I would recommend this product.

Good for someone needing a basic system.
I ordered this to put in my wife's Nolan modular helmet so she could pair up with the Sena I've got in mine so she could tell me important things when we're out riding. You know like, "Look at that cute puppy!", or "I really have to pee when are we going to stop?!" That and now she can listen to her own tunes or whatever she would like. Like most Sena products I've purchased, there are no installation instructions, but watch some of the Zilla videos or even the Sena support ones and it's pretty easy to do. This is one of their most basic systems. It serves our purposes perfectly though to just pair to my helmet comms and for her to listen to her own music. You can only pair with one other Sena unit with this unit, but can have your music going and you are able to switch back and forth to the intercom with the touch of the - button. Being that it is for a modular helmet you would want the outside control module and boom mike so when the helmet is buttoned up you can easily control volume and intercom connections and the boom stays in place if you want to flip up the face shield for any other reason. The nice Sena lady speaks to you through the various menu options when your turning on, pairing with a phone, pairing an intercom etc. so you know what's going on. Quality of sound is also basic. These aren't Bose or Beats speakers and you're not paying that price either. She said volume wise she still had a little left for full volume and didn't have any problems hearing things. Again though on a fairly quiet modular helmet buttoned up.

*A note here on initial pairing (for us at least). The instructions indicate once you get both units into the "pairing mode" by holding both the + and - buttons for 5 seconds, for one unit to push the - button for 1 second. For us that would never work and on a whim she pushed the + button and the things paired right up! Every time since then it's been the - button though so go figure??

The basic features and sound quality along with the initial pairing issue are the reasons why I gave it a 4 out of 5. Not a bad system overall.

I wouldn't buy it again
The 3S-WB is ok but just ok. I like the small design. Battery life is much better than expected. It turns on and syncs to my phone in about 2 seconds, it's a breeze.
So, why the low rating. I can barely hear sound at anything over about 55mph, on a windy day... forget it. Volume all they way up on the kit and my phone. My CBR600RR has stock exhaust, so that's not it either. It's just not enough. Sitting still it sounds a little loud and I thought I would want to turn it down. No way, this thing needs more power. Not a lot, but enough to make it audible on the highway.

There's no point in having a bluetooth kit in your helmet if you can't hear it. Looks like it's time for me to move up in the Sena product line.

Sound volume is too low when wearing ear plugs
I own both the Sena SMH10 and the 3S-WB products, and I always wear ear plugs when I ride in order to protect my hearing. I bought the 3S due to its simplicity and its sleek design -- as I do mostly solo rides and I'm also tired of having a giant ball mounted on the outside of my helmet, the 3S really appealed to me.

After using it for 21 months on a nearly daily basis, here's my opinion:

The Pro's:
1) Sleek design -- it almost disappears from your helmet
2) Simplicity of functions -- The basic functions are all I need
3) Light weight -- The outside-mounted buttons weight almost nothing
4) Decent battery life
5) Sena quality

The Cons:
1) There is only one con in my opinion: the VOLUME -- even when maxed out (both on the 3S and on my iPhone) the volume is still not loud enough for me when I wear my ear plugs. I don't have this issue with the SMH10 (and with the proper mounting kit, the SMH10 can also run with 3rd party speakers that have volume boost). Without the ear plugs, the volume is fine.

I don't use the 3S-WB for listening to music or anything that can potentially distract me when I am riding. I use the unit mainly for listening to GPS directions and for emergencies (e.g. in case my wife calls me regarding something urgent). If the incoming call is indeed urgent, I would pull over, stop the bike, and talk. If the incoming call is not urgent, then I will just say something like "Sorry, can't talk. I'm on my bike," and hang up. However, with my ear plugs in, the volume on the 3S is too for me to hear the GPS or any incoming calls.

It's been a frustrating 21 months with the 3S due to the low volume. Since I will never ride without wearing ear plugs, my only solution is to look for something different.

These are just my opinions. YMMV.

Gave me what I asked for
I wanted to be able to hear map directions from Google on iPhone. It does that well and for its value. So I got what I paid for.
Negatives for me, maybe not for u. I cannot really get it loud enough under my modular Scorpion helmet for music while riding, even closed up. The ear pieces fit but made it real tight on a long ride, may need next size helmet over time. I did not need and did not hook up mic to talk, I do not want to be distracted while riding - I'll pull over if I need to make a call. All in all a good value, gave me what I wanted, but may be limited for your needs.

Would this be a good choice for a Bitwell Bonanza helmet?
Nic H on Mar 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: YES!
Hi. Does the Sena 3S-WB come with one or two microphones? The product description says that "wired and boom microphones" come in the box, but the pictures only show a singular, plug-in boom mic. Thanks!
Vincent N on Nov 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: One microphone
Is there a wired lavalier microphone you can plug into the connection of the s3-wb instead of the boom microphone? I want to have both choices.
Michiel B on Sep 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No you cannot .
Is there a wired lavalier microphone you can plug into the connection? If yes, which one?
A shopper on Sep 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: the box contains a complete kit including a mike - for specifics on the mic you are mentioning I would contact a Rev associate - they were a big help to me in buying this model
Will this work with the latest Sena smart phone app or the handlebar remote?
Jeremiah S on Aug 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have an IPhone 5 and a Google map app and a Pandora app - it works fine with that for "listening". I do not take phone calls when riding - it is why I ride so mic is not hooked up at all
Can both passenger and driver hear music from the same device?
A shopper on Jun 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I would doubt it. The speakers go in your helmet. I would guess if you buy 2 sets it might. I would tell revzilla your needs and let them guide u to a solution. It worked well for me.
Will it fit on a Bell Qualifier helmet??
A shopper on May 20, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Should it is very adaptable may have to make ear holes little bigger
Is the external controller waterproof?
A shopper on Feb 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Sena makes no claims as to the unit being "waterproof" (you will not see that language listed anywhere on their site) but I have never heard of it being an issue, and I've had mine in the rain plenty.
Am I able to use my own wired headphones rather than the speakers with the 3s?
A shopper on Feb 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: not that I can see everything is prewired, blue tooth is built into the left ear speaker I think.
Is this all you need for helmet to helmet hands free communication?
A shopper on Dec 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes but this only can connect up to 4 i think
