Can you charge the device while using it? And how long does the battery last for music use?
A shopper on Feb 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I never charged while in use so no comment on that. I commute an hour each way and I play music at full volume every day. Typically a charge will last me 4 days before it will indicate low charge so I get an easy 8 hours before I risk it cutting out on me half way into a ride.
How long does the battery last for continuous music use? Can you charge the device while using it?
A shopper on Feb 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I've ridden 8 hours with music without issues. Not sure how you would charge it while riding. Too far away from a power source.
Will this fit in an Icon Airmada? Interested and want to make sure the speakers will fit.
Rob C on Feb 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I installed this into my Airmada, it required some dremal work to make it fit. The Airmada doesn't have speaker cut outs but there are some recesses that can be widened and made deeper for them to fit. The helmet has a lot f wind noise so be prepaired to crank the volume.
where is the battery?? and how long does it last?
Wilhelm K on Apr 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The battery is inside of one of the earpieces. You recharge it by connecting it to a micro USB cable with a pigtail hidden in the back. When you're ready to charge it, you just pull the little pigtail down a bit and plug it into the included micro USB cable. The cable is included, but not the wall adapter. You either plug it into a computer or a USB wall adapter you already own or buy separately. I didn't think that was a big deal since just about every electronic device you get now has a USB wall adapter.

I have yet to run the battery down yet. I have gone for three and four hour rides with no issues. I generally charge it after a long ride or once every few weeks (I haven't been able to ride as much as I like but try to ride a few days a week.)

You didn't ask this, but I'll give my two cents. The sound quality is OK but not great...no where near as good as my skull candy or bluetooth lg earbuds. However, they can get very loud. I've found they sound better when I put ear plugs in, which I did to cut down on the wind noise from my helmet. These are very nice, especially for talking to others while you ride.
I have an HJC CL 17 helmet and it does not have speaker cutouts, how thick are the speakers? Is anyone using this unit on a helmet without speaker cut outs?
james g on Feb 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: my helmet doesnt have speaker cutouts but i managed to slip it under this joint kind-of fabric piece and it worked really well. i also should add that my helmet is very tight to begin with but there were small enough so they could fit nicely
Can anyone comment on the sound quality while listening to music? I'm deciding between these and actual headphones.
Aaron L on Jun 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hey Aaron,
Since I mostly commute solo, and don't tend to ride in large groups, I picked this unit up specifically for interacting with my phone (GPS/Music/phone calls). For this purpose, it has been absolutely perfect. I don't care what helmet you have, wind noise will always be an issue. Added concern for me: as a professional musician (and by extension - audiophile), I don't want a speaker that simply blasts more noise into my ears to overpower the wind. If you ride without earplugs, then it has MORE than enough power to drive sound if your ears can take it, but (and I'm serious) I truly think these were designed to work with reasonable ear protection. I can hear these speakers very clearly through basic earplugs and I personally think that it sounds better (clearer, deeper bass, and far less "brash" overdrive) when listening through foam earplugs (tan and/or orange varieties tested).

I've used wired earbuds of every flavor in the past, from super-basic to expensive lock-in "Yurbuds," and for extended wear they ALL hurt my ears - (physical cartilage hurt, as well as volume). The best I managed to find were the cheap Koss "earplug earbuds", but even those hurt if you had the misfortune of catching the cord on a sleeve or tank bag or something, and blasted sound at you without much added protection from wind noise. This Sena is super easy to install, VERY low-profile (no huge plastic warts or battery packs on the outside of your helmet - just that thin control strip), it holds a charge for many, many hours, is totally cordless, and has enough punch to get your music and phone calls into your ear-holes, even through your favorite plugs. Sorry to gush, but it's exactly what I wanted and I will buy this (or something like it) for every helmet I own in the future.

It's not for use in large groups as its range is pretty limited, but it's perfect for bluetooth music and rider-pillion coms setups.

Hope this helps,
Tom
Has anyone been caught out in the rain with this thing? I read a review on another online retailer about a guy getting caught in a light rain and the whole thing locked up and wouldn't work anymore. I'd be using it for my Shoei RF-1200, but most of my riding is commuting back and forth for work. Rain is a distinct possibility and I don't want to have to pull over at the first sign of a storm cloud to disassemble my helmet.
A shopper on Apr 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It fits completely in your helmet except for the control pad and maybe the USB connector (my USB connector hangs out the back of my helmet). It is not water proof but unless you dunk you helmet in a river for a drink water should not be a problem. I live in Florida and have been caught is lots of rain storms and at least one wrath of god storm, the music keeps playing.
Will this product pair with my buddies Sena 20s? If so how much range will it have?
Richard W on Mar 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: From Sena's website
Bluetooth

One of the main important factors of using a headset is to stay connected and having Bluetooth capability is a must when on the road. All of Sena’s headsets come standard with Bluetooth 3.0 technology which allows riders to wirelessly make mobile calls, listen to stereo or MP3 player music or audio instruction of GPS navigation. Riders can also effortlessly hold conversations with another motorcyclist or the passenger via the Bluetooth intercom system.
Can I use siri with this model? I notice there are no specific buttons, but is there a combination of buttons that can allow me to ask for directions and such using siri?
Sarath M on Feb 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hello the answer is "yes" by pressing the + button for 3 seconds.
but it also start play music . because pressing the button start playing music.
you press it and first start the music and then after 3 seconds comes siri :)
has anyone used this with an agv corsa? no cutouts and pretty tight to my head (i have to adjust my ears everytime i put the helmet on). do you think it will fit?
jae p on Apr 13, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I had the same issues with my Shark Vantime, after a few days it broke in and feels great. As for the Sena it's a great BT headset for the price the voice is tiny but, the music is loud I was riding about 70-80 (Suzuki M90) and music was clear in the helmet if your helmet as cut outs it should be fine. My only gripe with headset the battery does not last as long as advertised well at least for me. I actually emailed revzilla to see if it was defective haven't got an answer yet usually only last a couple of hours but I keep a plug with me and just charge while I'm eating or drinking coffee. The speakers are very thin and I have the wired mic stuck to the front of my helmet in the inside. Have talked on the phone with no issues. Hope this helps. Keep the shiny side up Brother!!
