Not Hot Pants
Color: Tan
Size Ordered: Large

My measurements:
Inseam 29in, 78cm
Waist 96cm, 35in
Hips 101cm 40in

My main reason for buying the Yuma pants was based on research and previous reviews. I’m glad I took my time deciding on which model to order. (See my Scorpion Yuma Jacket review, as I bought the set together and love the Jacket.)

I ordered a Large, and they fit great. The pants are made to be worn with nothing but shorts underneath, and that’s how I wear them. Mine are probably big enough to wear over a pair of very light pants, and I often wear light Patagonia Venga pants around Yosemite.

The knee protection is fine, but not quite as adjustable as I would like. It works though, and feels comfortable when I’m riding. The hip protection is foam, and I think I will upgrade to an SAS-Tech product. The material is a nice weight, not really heavy, but light enough to be really comfortable while riding or walking. The more I wear them, the more relaxed the material gets and more flexible they become. They are a little crunchy at first … as most textile products are.

The styling is really nice, and I’ve already got lots of compliments on how they look (I also have the Scorpion Yuma Jacket in size Large). The pant length is a little long, but when I’m wearing my boots, and on the bike it’s perfect. Pant has stretch panels about the knee, and in the back above your buttocks that make movement comfortable. There is a zipper on the top back that attaches to the Jacket and works very well to keep your pants up on longer rides. There are two grippy patches on the butt to help keep you in place on your bike seat, and they work really well.

Now to the best thing about the pants … Vents! For the last week or so, temps here have been above 100 degrees. The pants have great air flow. Mesh on the bottoms below your knees and on the back. Mesh on the thighs and behind so the air flows right through. Very cool. The mesh interior is soft and feels good against your skin.

I ordered the Tan version, and they look great matched up with the tan Yuma jacket. There are two zippered pockets on front, and 2 flapped velcro cargo pockets below them. The pockets are a nice size and very useful. The grippy edge on the cargo pockets make them easy to open with gloves on.

The bottom of the pants have openings up to just below the knee. Not made as an overpant, I think it would be tough to get them on over boots. Not an issue for me, since I wear them as pants. The velcro closure has a lot of adjustability so you can get them snug around your boots. Mine are plenty long to get down below the waterproof level of my Forma Adv Low boots.

There are several applications of the NightViz on the pants and on the jacket so you can be seen at night. But they don’t stick out like a sore thumb making the product look gaudy.

These are simple stylish pants that work great for hot dry weather, and have an included waterproof liner for cold or wet conditions. They have adventure styling and look great.

Zips and clips are good. Velcro adjustment at the waist to tighten or loosen the fit. I’m very happy with this purchase, especially riding in HOT weather!

Very pleased, CCW friendly!
I've had these pants for a few months now and have no complaints. The airflow in hot weather is excellent and the included layers keep you warm and dry when needed.

There are two sets of pockets: one cargo style and one zipper. The zipper pockets are great for cell phones, etc. The cargo style pockets are a perfect fit for a G43, which is the first time I've been comfortable while carrying on my bike.

Protective pads are great. I haven't had a chance to test the pants, but took a long slide on asphalt wearing the Yuma jacket and it held up amazingly well.

Of note, these are not designed to wear over other layers. A pair of thermals would work, but they are not designed to wear over pants.

I would certainly recommend to others.

Great pants to go with the Jacket
You can see my Yuma Jacket review. I think this would go along with that. I've only used the pants a couple times as opposed to the jacket that I use everyday. I use the pants when doing longer rides and/or dirt riding. They are pretty comfortable. Love the large pockets and I'm happy with the protection they come with because most, if not all, of my falls will be slow while off-roading. I haven't taken the liner out to test the airflow, but I would suspect it's similar to the jacket... which I like a lot. Haven't tested either of them in the rain, but it doesn't rain much in Socal, so I'm not too worried about it. Overall, very happy with my purchase. Would recommend for hot weather riding. I had to go up to XL with these as well... similar to the jacket.

Comfortable, Cool Protection
I chose these pants for the summer riding season based on Revzilla reviews and positive experience with my Scorpion helmet. I also have a pair of Tourmasters pants which I like, but they become Sweatmasters when temps exceed 85F - even with shorts on underneath.

Comfort and Fit: My Scorpion Yuma's got a 90 mile mid-day summer test run today and the airflow was unbelievable with the liner removed and wearing just underwear underneath. It felt like wearing shorts! The cut of the pants is very similar to my relaxed fit 34 x 32 jeans so they're comfortable when you get off the bike and duck in for a burger or a beer. I ordered size large, and both waist and inseam fit me perfectly (5'-9" tall x 160 pounds).

Protection: Knee padding fits perfect, and does not ride up when on my sportbike. Velcro adjustments for the legs are on the inseam instead of the outseam which will keep them from pulling apart in a slide. The pants are a combination of textile and mesh, and Scorpion made sure the mesh is ONLY in those areas where road contact is much less likely (see this 'motorcyclist's protection map' ...http://www.roadsafety.mccofnsw.org.au/a/91.html). My only ding is I wish the hip padding was better, but that can always be changed out.

Try 'em and spend MORE time riding and LESS time sweating this summer.

I am 6' 1", about 150 lbs. normally wear a 31" waist, 34" inseam. Initially bought the medium size according to the sizing recommendations, had to exchange for the large size for several reasons:
1) the inseam wasn't long enough, the pant legs rode way up while seated on my bike (sportbike)
2) with the wind/waterproof liner in, all I had room for underneath these pants was my underwear
3) while the 4 pockets on the front seem very useful, and the lower ones have great rubber pull tabs that make them easy to open even with gloves on, even after getting the large size, there is still not enough give in the material to easily slip your hands into the pockets, even without gloves on.

All of that said, the external material of these pants seems very durable and with the windproof liner installed, I have been riding around in 30* temps with nothing aside from boxers on underneath. The liner does a great job of stopping wind from making through to your legs, despite the ample vent panels. These pants have two small strips of grippy material on the backside which do a great job of not letting your butt slide around on the seat. I also really like the waist adjustment straps, there is plenty of velcro to ensure you can get them as tight as you need. Just be sure to order a size up from your normal waist size, especially if you have longer legs.

I have yet to ride these pants, so I've kept my review below 5 stars. In addition this is my first pair of riding pants. My main comment is on size so far. I ordered both the medium and large. I'm a 32w34l which is a medium on the size chart. Others have commented on going up a size so I was unsure. As I'll be riding with a thin pair of shorts underneath I prefer the large. If you like a snug fit the medium would have worked, but since these are meant to be used for long rides I opted for the extra room. Waist strap makes up the difference nicely. Knee pads seem good when moved up. If you have short femurs (like you would know) then they might not adjust far enough up.

Taking these on a 4 day ride soon, so I'll report back.

Will these fit over jeans or other pants or are these just regular pants?
Christopher G on Jan 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: These are regular pants. I'm actually trying to find a way to size them right for shorts. I wear 36w/34L jeans and the XL size fit like a glove, a glove that didn't have any room for shorts. While this would be great for riding if I just wanted to wear the pants, I've never done that and am looking to wear shorts under these. My hope is that going up a size or two will allow this without the pants being overly large.
Are these waterproof and are they good winter pants? It says it has large mesh areas, so I wasn't sure if it was more 3 season or summer pants.
A shopper on Jan 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: They come with a waterproof liner and a quilted liner. I've worn them in chilly temps (40's F) and was fairly comfortable.
Are these constructed with PU (polyurethane) coated polyester or nylon? I'm worried about the material melting during a slide. Thanks.
