Scorpion Yukon Pants

The Scorpion Black Emperor Yukon Pants are the companion to the Yukon Jacket. Using the same waterproof / breathable laminated 500 denier nylon exterior fabric and 1680 nylon reinforcing fabrics. Scorpion has created a very durable and practical pants for all your exploration and adventures.

1680 denier nylon material is on the knees and seat so whether you are sitting on boulders taking in the view, or kneeling on the side of the road fixing a flat you don’t need to worry about your gear. Large leather reinforcements on inner knee all the way down to the ankle help you grip the fuel tank, withstand the abuse of sharp footpegs, and prevent you from melting the fabric on hot exhausts. Scorpion even reinforced the inside of the lower legs to withstand the large buckles on your motocross or touring boots.

Large areas of NightViz reflective material is found on the bottom of the pant cuffs and on the thigh so you can be seen by other motorists when seated. Large thigh pockets can be used to carry extra gloves or tools. Strategically located vents on upper thank and back of leg work to dump heat when the riding gets hard. Metal hook closure at the waistband means you don’t need to worry about snaps popping open at inopportune times. Stretch accordion gussets at knees and waistband assure the pants fit well and allow for full range of motion when walking or sitting.

Focus on your ride, not your riding gear.

Note: We have found the Scorpion Yukon Pants tend to run small and suggest going up if you are between sizes.

Nice pants
I bought these for my wife to put under the tree at Christmas so I've not had a lot of chance to use them much. I went on a 100 mile ride a few weeks ago and used these pants with just a pair of under armour compression leggings underneath. Pants were superb. 35 degree weather and I was very comfortable at freeway speeds. The pants are a bit short from waist to crotch but I was wearing suspenders which put the waistline more around my winter belly than my actual waist. I like the leather on the inner legs. These are viable option for adventure riding. We'll see what the summer brings as far as comfort in warmer weather. I definately recommend them.

Over Promised, Under Delivered
First, I am an avid fan of Scorpion products and I was stoked to see these as their "Top Shelf" pants. I was looking for an affordable 4 season riding pant that offered great protection, waterproof, good ventilation, comfort, and could be worn as overpant above thin slacks. I opted for the Yukon over the Yosemite because of the stated higher protection quality and baked-in waterproofing since it was on sale. I ride an FJ09 during daily work commutes about 40 miles round trip and weekend rides through the VA/WV mountains (strictly on-road use). I'm 5'8" 175lbs with athletic build. I ordered size Large, fit seemed just right.

PROs: Style is awesome, reflective tapes on thigh pockets and around cuffs with cool Scorpion logo for added visibility (safety). Build quality seems very good with substantial fabric density, thickness, and reinforced seams where it matters. Zippered vents have good zip garages on backs of thighs, but I am concerned these may contact seat and/or bike if shifting around on spirited curvy roads. Airflow is superb and Sas-Tec armor at hips and knees is always good (function addressed below). Unfortunately, from my experience, that's about it for positive remarks...

CONs: Fit - in the living room, felt fine. After about 15 minutes in the saddle the crotch seam, being much too short, was driven so deep into my taint that I was losing feeling in my legs. Terrible cut on these through the hips and buttocks creates intolerable tension. Fit is similar to low-waisted jeans (which I hate); shame on you Scorpion! Likewise, because of this cut, the front "hand warmer" pockets are vitually useless for anything thicker than a Post-It note. R&D needs to relook at this unless strictly aimed at a female audience. During my commute, I saw morning temperature of 30F, afternoon 54F. In the morning, the Sas-Tec knee armor became so cold and rigid it felt like a frozen 2X4 sitting against my knees. When coming to a stop it was not only uncomfortable but very distracting. It took about 20 minutes after arriving to work for the armor to thaw enough to bend. My D3O knee armor in another product does not exhibit this quality in cold temps (even sub 20's). Furthermore, the way the knee armor is encased in a soft material inside the legs, it tends to "float" and will easily get out of place especially when moving around. The leather on the inner thighs, although durable and good protection, offers no appreciable advantage to tactile response or adhesion with the bike. I even stood on the pegs to assume the ADV rider's perspective. While I stated above the airflow is suberb, this wasn't so great in 30F temperature. Even though I was wearing a good base layer, I could feel the air moving freely into this garmet at all speeds even with the zips completely closed. 4 season pant; Revzilla seriously? With all these vent zips and no liner included, the garment is totally compromised in sub freezing temps. How 'bout 3 season warm?

Bottom line, I'm in the market for a 4 season pant. Terribly disappointed in the poor fit/function of this product. Unfortunately, this was only revealed after riding in them. In the meantime, I'll resume use of my Tour Master Caliber pants for winter use - fantastic fit and protection from the cold. Still, big props to Revzilla for the great service and product selection. For me, this one clearly wasn't it!

Great construction and fit, nice features.
The first thing you will notice is the impeccable construction, very high quality. I think I've finally found my replacement pants after looking for several months. I've tried Olympia Ranger 3(too tight and fussy lining), BMG Pioneer(too tight and lining seemed weak and fussy in the boot area), Aerostitch AD1(tight in crotch and too stiff). These are spot on for my fit, 36 waist, 34 inseam, and hoovering around 180. I carry a bit more weight in my thighs and seat area and got the large. With thin shorts these are spot on fit for me, with enough room for thick long underwear. Jeans would be a no go for me, need a size up. I really appreciate the attention to detail as far as soft inner lining, durable fabric on the inner lower parts. I love the fact there are no zippers for around the boots, a quick snug or loose fit every time. The armor is stout and in the right place for me. I also appreciate the gusseted crotch as the other pants were too tight getting on/off bike, these are spot on. Again, I am really impressed by the high quality fabrics and construction, you won't find a stitch out of place on these. The pockets are all in good placement and the waist straps are easily accessed to snug things down. Lots of thought went into these. I'm not too concerned about them being waterproof but can tell these will hold up to any light rain or passing shower, time will tell how the Exo-Dry works.

Great pants that can just about do it all
Very happy thus far with the pants, fit true to size, I am 6'1" 185 lbs, ~33-34 waist, 34 inseam, and ordered a size large. Initially the length was a bit short, but with 5 minutes and seam ripper, you can let the lower hem out and gain another ~1-1.5 inches in length. Now they are perfect!

Very comfortable on and off the bike, cargo pockets hold a ton, and are easy to use.

Bought the jacket and pants combo for long tours and to negate the need to carry a separate rain suit, have not yet tested in the rain but based on the quality of the pants and other reviews, I am confident they should be waterproof/great in the rain.

Only negatives are in really hot weather, if you are not standing on the pegs, rear vents only so not a ton of air flow. Great in cold, cool, warm, weather, would not be that fun over 90 I imagine. Also depends on the bike, my lower fairing protects my legs/blocks a lot of wind so may be more a function of my specific bike (Concours 14).

Also velcro only closures on the lower leg. They work great, strong, well positioned, can seal tight over my boot if I want, or loose if I want more airflow. Just imagine it would not be as secure in a get off as also having snaps/zipper of some kind.

Overall great pants for the price, and I am very happy, would recommend.

Great pants for the money!!
I live in the California desert where the temperatures range from over 120 at the high to down to the high 30s at night in the winter months. These pants cover that range. I didn't expect a whole lot from the vents until a morning ride in the low 60s, I felt some shrinkage going on.
I ride on truck trails and fire roads at least once a week, and commute 90 minutes into Los Angeles once a week, and these pants have also been fantastic for both situations.
The armor is very comfortable once you shift it around some to fit to you.
I'm 5'9" and 190, I got a size large and they fit me perfect. I thought they may be a bit too long, but sitting the bike they are spot on.
Nice work Scorpion!!

Unstitch hem for an extra two inches
Overall, I like the pants, They are heavy duty, which is why I would not want to wear them on a hot day even though the vents are quite effective. But I want rugged pants when off-road adventure touring, and these pants are rugged. I like the cargo style pockets, too.

After wearing them for a week, I called Revzilla to find out if the pants came in a longer size and was told that they do not. I wear 34/34 and found them a bit too short. I could not understand why Scorpion would choose such a short single length. Recently a friend offered to take them and try letting out the hem and see what he could do. What he discovered was that the hem is rolled so that, if you simply unstitch the hem, you can drop down another two inches of pant leg, complete with Velcro. The extra two inches are quite an improvement. The pants no longer ride up over the top of my boots.

I guess my major complaint with the design of the pants is that the slit down the lower legs are secured with Velcro. I get annoyed when I sometimes I brush my left leg against my footpeg while manipulating the bike and it pulls the Velcro apart. I believe that a zipper would be better, and still have Velcro to cinch tighter if desired. I'd bet that a zipper would leak less cold air as well, but hopefully my longer pant legs will help in that regard.

Great pants at a fair price
I got these pants in time for a 500 mile trip into central Oregon; they proved their worth and then some. During the ride we encountered pouring cascade rain, high desert sun, sage brush, juniper branches, and all manner of rocks; the pants performed admirably. I stayed bone dry and at a desired temperature due to the generous exhaust vents. I was a bit
unsure how they would vent during strenuous off road riding due to the lack of front facing vents. I did warm up but it was not unbearable by any means as the pant do breath well; If the mfg. happens to read this review i would suggest a few front thigh vents in order to give the user even more temp control, if that was part of the pants i would have given it 5 stars. The armor was ample, well placed and comfortable under all riding conditions and with full height forma adv boots on. (note: i was able to wear the pants over my adv boot with ample room for adjustments.) The only negative thing i have to say is that some of the stitching got worn off on the inner portion the keep the leather portion in place...i was able to fix it but i feel that this will be an issue for anyone that uses the pants in their intended role. All in all these are great pants and fill the ADV/commuting role very well, i would trust these bad Johnson's to keep me dry in any weather the PNW could throw at me!

Heavy duty protection
A very well made heavy duty pant. Haven't had the opportunity to see how waterproof they are yet. Venting is all in the rear so airflow is limited. Pockets are excellent. Two way stretch panels on the rear work very well. Would buy again.

Great Touring Gear
I recently bought the Scorpion Yukon Jacket and Pants, so these are my initial impressions.

I ride an RSV4 and Multistrada 1200, so I was looking for rain proof gear that would look good with either bike. I also wanted to be able to add in mid layers for warmth, and open the zippers for direct ventilation.

The pants fits me well, I'm 5'10", 31" waist, 160lbs, with an athletic build. My only complaint is that the knee armor is slightly too high even in the lowest setting.

The styling is cool, I feel like it could with everything from a dirt bike to a super sport. Pockets and vents are well positioned. Seems weather proof as well, but haven't ridden in rain just yet.

Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a laminated shell without having to use a waterproof liner.
