Sounds great - fits okay
Old pipe removal was a breeze and the new bottom pipe slipped on with ease. Aligning the muffler to the lower pipe AND to the factory mounting bracket however was a little tricky as the tolerances are pretty close. I finally got everything lined up and tightened down to where it doesn't put any undue stress on the mounting tab or the lower pipe but the muffler still touches the inside of the passenger footrest bracket. This may be an indication that the footrest bracket is slightly bent from an amazing off-road adventure (Which is the reason I need to replace the factory pipe)

Suggestion for Scorpion - use a slot on the mounting tab to allow slight adjustment of the muffler position. It looks like the mounting to muffler connection is not a sturdy as it could be.

The system is significantly lighter than the factory pipe (at least 10#). The 1215cc triple sound is great with the baffle removed - very deep rich tone that isn't obnoxious.

Great sound
The Scorpion really lets you hear the triple on a Triumph Explorer without being obnoxious. And it looks great on the bike. I would recommend removing the reflectors on your license plate holder though. My right reflector was melted by the exhaust.

Good pipe so far.
The pipe didn't line up perfectly with the hanger bracket but it did fit. I would imagine it is hard to account for any manufacturing tolerances in the manufacture of the bike and pipe. The connecting pipe and sip-on are gorgeous. The welds are high quality and the slip-on fits on the connecting pipe perfectly. The springs are a cool mechanical/race looking touch. The sound is nice and the bike pops a little under engine braking, which I like. The size of the pipe is a huge improvement over the stock pipe as it is much smaller and lighter (6.5lbs. less on my bathroom scale). My big complaint is the Scorpion logo on the pipe is a sticker! The first time I wiped the pipe down, the edge of the sticker peeled back. Why the heck would you put a sticker on a pipe that will change temperature constantly? A metal rivet plate would have matched the quality of the rest of the pipe. I could take the sticker off, but I like the look. Overall, I am satisfied.

I had an older Scorpion pipe on my SV. I liked it. So I opted for the carbon pipe for my Explorer. It sounds awesome. The quality and finish is superb. Much easier to install this on the Explorer than my Suzuki SV. I didn't even have to cut the pipe. Brought the bike to the shop and they downloaded a map using the "Arrow pipe 89", works perfectly with the bikes new setup. Very pleased and Revzilla is always a great place to buy stuff from.

Looks great!
What an improvement over the "humongous" factory muffler! Fit and finish are excellent, very easy to install and it sounds just right for adventure touring bike!
I think Triumph could sell a few more Tiger Explorers if they came with a muffler that looked as good as this one does!

Gorgeous in Carbon Fiber, if a little muted.
I was a little nervous about picking the right pipe for my TEX - I wavered back and forth between this Scorpion and the Yoshimura a lot. In the end I think I made the right choice.

I think the first thing everyone wants to hear about an aftermarket exhaust is the sound. So far I've been running the Serket with the baffle installed, so take this with a grain of salt. It is a little bit louder, but distinctly deeper in pitch than the stock exhaust. I was a little nonplussed at first, but the more I ride it the more I love it! If anything, it adds a bit of lupine character to the exhaust note. Still, it might be more impressive with the baffle out.

Following the sound, the change in performance would be the thing to talk about. I'm going to be honest: You're not going to feel a 3 horsepower gain on a 140 hp, 550 pound motorbike. Especially not when it seems to mostly be in the top end. You might - MIGHT - feel a 6 hp gain from running it with the baffle out. Certainly, it specs it up enough to be competitive with a KTM. However, that is not to say that there is no improvement to performance from installing this thing. I got the carbon fiber version, which seemed light when I picked up the box. I wasn't really astounded though - until I actually took off the stock exhaust. That thing is stupidly heavy, like zombie apocalypse improvised weapon heavy. I read somewhere that a Serket saves you 15 pounds, my guess is that it's more than that by a decent bit, at least for the carbon fiber version.

Install was a piece of cake. There are two bolts: one holding on the exhaust (It was either 7 or 8 mm on the Tiger) and the other is just a tightener on the pipe that just needs to be loosened. People say it's a fifteen minute install, but I'd guess its less. However, while you're doing the install you should take the time to satisfy your curiosity and hear your bike with no muffler. It sounds beastly.

Lastly: Aesthetics. At least on the TEX, a metal can just looks out of place. The bike's body is mostly black, and the only other thing that's stainless steel are the brake rotors. The Serket is gorgeous in carbon fiber and it looks excellent sitting on the side of the bike. I'd say it's worth the extra 60 bucks just for the looks.
