Excellent helmet for the Naked Bike...
This helmet is more comfortable on the freeway then the EXO-R2000. It seems to stay put... at speed on a naked bike, the R2000 seems to ride up (get lift)... being that the T1200 is more touring like... up right or 3/4 tuck, it stays put. Love the dual visor concept. Very happy with this helmet! Also... the Sena 20s fits easily on this helmet!

All in all, I couldn't be happier with this helmet. I would buy this again and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good helmet to go with a naked bike. I really like the fact you can adjust the height of the inner visor. Also... the outer visor is the same as the EXO-R2000 which is a bonus for me since I own both!

Big bang for little bucks
So I am heading out in September to Milan, Italy for a week long Ducat-list trip through the Dolomites, Swiss Alps, and back into the Italian Alps ending with a stop in, oh yeah, Bologna. Must see Duc factory.

So I don't want to use my ancient KBC, God rest it's long-lasting soul and I certainly have no desire to rip my linings out of my gorgeous X-Lite 802RR Carbon Fiber to install communicators and pepper it with 3M tape for every camera and gadget under the sun.
Enter the Quattro. What a pleasant surprise. Styling cues are suh-weet, if you like screaming reds and yellow...and I do. The visuals have heads turning constantly in the 10 days I've ridden in it.
I wanted to avoid taking shades to wear in my helmet and the Quattro's adjustable inner sun visor is nifty and works beautifully so far. The lever to move it in and out of position works smoothly and doesn't feel cheap or chintzy. I'm happy.
Inflatable cheek pads are an idea that seems gimmicky and too reminiscent of Reebok pumps to belong in a helmet. Au contraire. These little bladders do a nice job of cinching up the fit to match your face just the way your mug likes it.

After procrastinating a week I decide to install the Sena SMH10R I bought simultaneously. I always loathe taking helmet liners out. I remember the old ones 15+ years ago that NEVER went back in properly no matter what and have avoided removing any since. I have replaced perfectly good helmets because I had a mental block about changing out pads. Yes I was that traumatized years ago. But the Quattro is a SNAP. Literally. And it has channels that help you to guide it into place. Genius for us dexterity challenged retards.
So after removing the idiot proof cheek pads and chin skirt I begin the tedious task of routing cables for microphone and speakers. (The Sena's speakers are about the size of a silver dollar, and while thin-ish, I was already calculating just how painful my ears were going to be after 8 hour rides for a week with these speakers gouging into them.)
But EUREKA, did Sena and Scorpion have a design meeting when both of their products were created to homogenize for ease of install?? To my astonishment behind the cheek pads, Scorpion had made perfect speaker recesses. Now I haven't had a communicator in decades, 1993 to be exact, and maybe that is now the standard but I was stoked to pop those in their allotted spots and have the cheek pads cover them neatly! Sure ,having the pads over the speakers sacrifices some volume/clarity at high speeds but I'll take the comfort over it any day. And it's not as if I cannot hear music, phone, or intercom perfectly!! Moto-bliss!!

The shell of the helmet is fantastic for weight as well. Even with the extra weight of built in sun visor this helmet is extremely light though not as light as my X-Lite carbon fiber and one shouldn't expect it to be.

My only complaint, comment really-and it's negligible, is the noise level. I am on a bike, I don't expect a whisper quiet experience. I want the growl of an engine and the wind whipping by me. If I wanted quiet I'd go to the library.
The clear visor has excellent detents and stays put once put into place. The clarity of the visor is crystal as well.

I have a small narrow head and face and this style of helmet fits me neatly. I believe I was just at "7" and small fits perfectly after a ride or two softened up the cheek pads.
Verdict: I am loving this helmet, especially since you actually get a lot of features for so little outlay of cash.
So for $250, do yourself a favor and pick up one of these bad boys.

Anthony, keep giving your detailed reviews. Your attention to detail is EXACTLY what this industry has been lacking for a long time. And the levity that is "baked into" the vids, as you are fond of saying, makes for good entertainment as well.

great new helmet for 2015
I love this helmet! I had to replace my old due to an accident last year. This helmet is light weight, very aerodynamic at highway speeds, quiet, and flows a ton of air.
The height adjustable inner visor is a neat, easily adjusted feature that should be on more helmets.
Quiet as well, until well over legal highway speeds when a slight buzzy sound started. Easy to connect with comms like a sena as well. Cool graphics that stand out and are very visible as well. All in all, a great helmet from Scorpion that should wake up the likes of Shoei on price point.

Sizing chart is off. Good helmet / Florida Heat tested :)
First I want to address the helmet sizing. Coming from the Scorpion EXO-500 helmet i used the same size chart listed for the T1200.

This line def runs larger then the size chart lists. My measurement is 22 5/8" which places me in the Medium (And I wore a Med in the EXO 500 line), but when i got my helmet it literally just dropped right onto my head with very little of any pressure against the sides of the face. So i did have to return the helmet and get the Small which fit correctly. *RevZilla was awesome on the return (first time i ever had too), very easy process and promptly credited my account on return.

So be mindful if you fall in the middle range under the size chart you might need to go smaller size.

Helmet: Very good field of vision, air tight visor fit, with decent air flow. The sun visor is much improved over the older fixed position setting which really makes a huge difference lessening that line of bright light that was at times distracting. The main visor also has a better, wider field of vision which is great. Don't feel like i have to turn my head as far to clearly check my spots. *huge thumbs up for that!

The Liner is very soft, and has been breaking in very good forming to my head shape. Don't see any reason why i couldn't wear it for long periods of time. Was feeling pressure toward my forehead/temple at first but once it broke in. Feel's great now.

Wind noise. Louder then the EXO 500 series, but not deafening up to 90. Live in Florida so have not ridden with the vents closed and everything is opened fully. Only time i have a whistle effect is certain temp head positions which are not standard riding ones. tucked in/down , half over, mostly upright etc no problems.

Vents: We have been in the 104-108 heat indexes with high humidity here. Moving the helmet works awesome, good air flow over 25 plus.

All in all its a good helmet, with a nice weight to save the neck. Good shape, and color's *silver/white which helps you stand out more. Controls are very easy to use and find.

Only complaint.
I really think it was a mistake removing the vent position setting for the visor. The vent position i used a lot on the exo 500 series and allowed a rapid cool down at low speeds after getting stuck at a long light. Thats the only real bummer I've found.

Decent enough
Good helmet over all. I have round head so It's kind of tight on the side of both ears( I got big ears as well so my ears fold down every time I put it on but I manage to straight them out with my fingers ) but I can live with it. Helmet very functional with the built in sun visor. I can say this is Quality = bang for bucks. I like it !
( I got size LG, I think XL going to fit better but I decided to keep it plus it going to break in later so it will be fine)

Perfection
I've had a few different brands of helmets and after watching a few reviews on this one I decided to make the leap. I got the color that was on close out and just so happened it was exactly what I wanted for high vis. The inside almost seemed Taylor made to accept my Sena 20s and the install on that was so much more simple compared to the other helmets. The fit is perfect. The chin strap could be a little more forward but that may just be the shape of my head making that strange. Noise isn't that bad and it seems to work great in the rain. I live in Alaska and the temps are starting to fall before I put my Ducati up for the season and even with the cooler mornings I don't get frozen skull like on my other helmets. All in all I love this helmet and may get myself another one sometime here.

Excellent Product!
Fit, finish, features are top of the line. Excellent visibility and easy to be seen! Internal sun visor is optically correct (no distortion) and covers full field of vision. Airflow is great, keeping my head cool even in 100 degree temps. Multi detents allow face shield to be worn in many positions, especially important in the summer. Noise level quite acceptable even at highway speeds. Light weight and comfort at a price point below what I expected.

So far ok.
2nd one, medium was too tight, so got a large.

Still working on how to get it to fit on my head right so to not feel uncomfortable after an hour. Seems it needs to be pulled down to your head in right.

Cheek pumps are sweet and the sun shield.

Fantastic helmet for the money
This is the 1st Hemet I've worn for any extended period of time. That said, it is fantastically comfortable and absolutely loaded with features, especially for it's price point! Fitment was a hair wide around the cheeks, but the air pads system (awesome) easily remedied that. Good ventilation, sweet drop down sun visor. Pretty good anti-fog, air pads, light and comfortable. I couldn't ask for more. Especially asince a closeout deal.
(No comment on protection and durability at this point. It feels solid though)

Great helmet. Bad for aggresive riding
This is a great helmet. Overall great fit and great features. Comes with some extra screws, a cloth for wiping the visor, and a bag for the helmet.

The internal sun visor works perfectly and is adjustable to three positions. Fairly dark, great for all situations. however, it does block a significant amount of wind so it impedes air flow and I sometimes find myself not using it because I cant get enough air flow.

Airflow overall however is very good. On a 90 degree day felt fine while riding. A little hot at stoplights but if you just put the visor up, it works fine.

Inner material is so comfortable. Nuff said.

Looks soooooooo cool!

Suggestions: Maybe get a different outer visor for aesthetics purposes because it looks a little weird with the clear screen.

I have owned Scorpion helmets before. The 400, 700, 1000, and a few others Fuller, Harley, HJC Over 40 years of commuting and touring, and Scorpion is only helmet that has no hot spots. Plus, the neon yellow/red looks smoking hot.

Wanted high visibility helmet. Scorpion helmets in the past fit and performed well. The only complaint is I expected the helmet to be quieter on at highway speeds.

Features of the helmet, plus the reputation of Scorpion. Besides, the neon red/ hi-viz yellow design is awesome and just a real beacon for others on the road. Anything to boost visibility is a good thing in my book.

Hi. I see the helmet is DOT rated, but can you tell me if it is also ECE rated? Here in Oz, we need to have the eu rated lids. Thanks
Bernie G on Feb 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I do not believe it is ECE rated. If you watch revzilla's video I think they talk about it. I have watched so many I get them confused sometimes hahah
Can I order the helmet with a pin-lock visor and insert, how much more would it cost?
A C on Aug 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: You have to order the Scorpion EXO-R2000 / R710 / R410 / T1200 / T510 Flat Race Face Shield and then a Scorpion Max Vision Pinlock Lens Insert.. The visor the helmet comes with is does not have the pinlock posts and doing so also allows you to use tear offs
I usually wear an XL to XXL in Scorpion helmets. Do these two sizes use different shell sizes?
A shopper on Nov 28, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes. My previous scorpion helmet was an extra large. I ordered a large and it turned out to be too big so I sent it back and got a medium which fits just perfectly. I suggest you use their sizing chart and follow it precisely .
What's the wind noise like at highway speeds or over?
